Quick and excellent! Dennis (4908) was the best! Knew exactly what to do, had all the equipment, was quick and efficient, very pleasant, explained it all, showed defects in original plumbing, and replaced an old garbage disposal that was originally plumbed wrong. We are very satisfied even though material prices were a bit high, it was worth it! All done in 1 1/2 hours. Looks great.
Description of Work: Replacing kitchen plumbing under sink, then new garbage disposal.

The plumbing work that was done was very good and the plumber was very professional. I have used Roto-Rooter in the past and have always been very happy with their work. However, I have a large complaint about the water restoration service, and will never use either division again due to it. 1. The plumber called a sales person from the Water Restoration division of Roto-Rooter when he saw that restoration services were needed due to the leak. The sales person strongly implied that I would not have to pay my $1,000 deductible when he got me to sign the water extraction agreement. This was after he had called my insurance company on his cell phone with me and they had informed me and him of the deductible. He said that as soon as you say "demo" (demolition?) that there wouldn't be any deductible. He said that he had done a lot of these claims and only one had been denied. I had originally wanted to call my insurance agent myself, but the sale person insisted that he make the call with me. 2. The ceramic light fixture in the crawl space was broken by the restoration workers. When I signed off on the work, I noticed the bulb lying on the ground, but did not notice that the part of the fixture that it is supposed to screw into was broken off and still attached to the bulb. I asked the workers why the bulb was out, and they said they didn't know anything about it. My husband distinctly recalls that the bulb had been in the fixture and working before the restoration workers started their work. When I paid the remainder of the bill after insurance (the $1,000 deductible) to Roto-Rooter, I told the person on the phone my complaint and was told to send an email describing the issue. Twelve days after sending the email, I had not heard back from Roto-Rooter, so emailed them again. At this point, the manager of the Water Restoration services called me and had me describe the incident over the phone with the salesperson listening in. The outcome of that conversation was that the manager got an electrician to fix the light fixture and said that the sales person would be dealt with internally, but because "he was not there when the incident happened", did not refund any of the $1,000 that I had paid. He said that what the salesperson meant was that the deductible portion would go to the replacement of the insulation in the crawlspace, which Roto-Rooter does not do. This was not at all what my husband and I heard the the salesman say. The manager also made it clear that he thought I should have known that the deductible would have to be paid by me, despite what the salesperson had repeatedly said to us at the time. I was glad when this issue happened that Roto-Rooter had added a restoration service to the company, but I don't think it's up to the high standards of quality and professionalism as the plumbing service. As both divisions reflect on the company as a whole, unfortunately, I cannot recommend the company anymore.
Description of Work: Fix Leak in Crawlspace. ($218) Water Restoration services after the leak. The water restoration services included tearing out wet insulation, putting in a dehumidifier and fans to dry out the crawlspace, and spraying mildewcide on the remaining insulation. Restoration does not include replacing torn out insulation. ($1,789)

Nobody showed during the 4 hour window scheduled for the estimate. I received a phone call at the end of the appointment time. I was told that I was scheduled for the window, but I didn't have an appointment, whatever that means. They had just assigned someone to come out, but he would not be able to make it out that week. The person on the phone was from another office with no knowledge of what had transpired during the making of the appointment. They stated that the technician would call me to set a time for him to come out. I received no further contact. I'll be going with someone else.

First plumber (different company) I contacted at 9:45 on a Saturday morning when water was backing up in all my showers in could not use the commodes stated he would be in my house a little after 2 PM. At 2:25 PM he call me and stated he couldn't do my job as he had added on another job closer to his previous job and he was just giving me the "courtesy call" to tell me he wasn't coming. I called Roto-Rooter and they were very good in communicating technician time arrival. Technician Julius arrived Saturday night, was very professional and thorough doing his job and got the problem fixed.

The service technician was a really nice guy and knew what he was doing. I did have a little issue with the scheduling department. The day I called, they said they would be out same day with a 4 hour window. They called about 2 hours into the 4 hours and said they would not be coming. Since this was not an emergency, I tried scheduling several days in advance, they were hesitant to commit.

They did an excellent job. It took a lot of work. I live in a townhouse, where you turn the faucet on and off was 4 feet underneath my deck. Someone has to get on all 4 and crawl under there to turn it on and off. He actually moved the mechanism and stuff itself up on the deck. Insulated between the faucet and underneath, cause once it exploded, because of cold weather, so that it would not explode. He did a beautiful job it looks great, it still works great. I have a lot of plants so I use it everyday. It was expensive but they were here a long time.

They were excellent. They came on the 3rd, they put a six inch arm, the plumber and I thought it would be fine but it still wasn't long enough. He took it from two inch arm to six inch arm, but it was still too tall, when I actually was in there with no shoes on. They had to order a part, they put a 10 inch arm.He had to come back and didn't charge any labor or anything else. He came back on the 24th and put the arm in. They did a really good job, they came when they said they would.

Well I called Roto-Rooter because they are a well known name and the had a good rating on Angies`s List. They also said the charge the same rate for after hours work and it was a Friday afternoon. They were able to send someone out within a few hours of the call I placed which was appreciated. When the plumber came out he said it would be $210 an hour which seemed steep to me but he did not provide a written estimate. After about 3 and 1/2 hours, including an hour that he left to go to the store he had finished however the flange on the toilet he replumbed was way too high. He asked if he could come back in the morning to redo it. It was late so I agreed, he said it was fine to use the upstairs bathrooms. It wasnt, we used them and water started leaking out into the livng room. I called Roto-Rooter back and expressed my concerns. They said they would send a more experienced plumber in the morning. When the new plumber showed up he did a quick assessment and said he would need to redo all the work the previous guy did because it had not been done right. He quoted me a price of $950. I questioned the pricing and he said they already had three hours into it. I commented that did not seem fair as he had to redo everything that the first guy had done the night before. I asked to speak to a manager which he called and after that we agreed on a price. The second plumber replumbed the drain pipe and finished the job and said we were all set. My wife went upstairs to take a shower and the drain pipe he just replaced started leaking. I brought it to his attention and he said he had a fix for that. He went to his truck and came back with some caulk and tape. He put the caulk and tape on it, wrapped it with a metal band and said it would be fine. On top of that, he tried to charge me a price about $60-$70 higher than what we had just agreed on. I was furious, he finally backed off the additional charges. At this point I just wanted him to be gone. I called Roto-Rooter again and explained what had been done and provided a picture of the bandaid the plumber had applied. I asked if this was up to code? They said this was not up to their standards and would send a new plumber on Monday. The new plumber came out and knew his stuff, I wish he had been the one they sent to begin with as it would have saved me a lot of heart ache. The new (third) plumber did a professional job and I have no complaints about the worked performed. Unfotunately though, he had to cut out the work the previous guy did and in doing so accidently cut through a hot water supply pipe which began spewing all over our living room. We soaked up the water and towelled everything down. I was not mad as it was a complete accident however afterwards I noticed a small amount of swelling on our hardwoods where the water had pooled up when the pipe was cut. There are also streaks on the wall where the water sprayed which I am going to have to repaint. That coupled with the stains on the carpet the first guy left, after apparently stepping on the remnants of a wax ring and I have quite a bit of clean up work to do.

I did use them. They were quite high and he was only here for a short period of time. It was over $400 just to re-set a button in a water fountain. For price, definitely an F because it shouldn't have taken $400 to press a button in a water fountain. For the quality, he just talked too much. For responsiveness, they get an A for that; they were quick. He was just telling us about his personal - where he was from, which was fine - but if you're charging me by the hour, go ahead and get your stuff done, and he wasn't even here an hour. At this point when you're charging me to pay up front when you don't even know what's wrong with the water fountain - I've never seen anyone charge me up front for a problem that you don't even know what the problem is. So he charged me the $400-something dollars up front and he said there would be more, I would have to pay more. He opened up the water fountain, pressed a button, and it turned right on. I had used them prior before, for the same water fountain, but it didn't cost me that much.
Description of Work: This was just to re-set. No parts replaced. He just pressed a button in my water fountain and that was $400. My water fountain at my daycare center wasn't working.

It was under warranty so they didn’t charge me, but it took until the last guy that finally was out; spent some time to fix the problem. There was no additional cost to the warranty, but they had to send several people out to get the problem solved. It was pretty bad and unfortunately sometimes at that time of night you don’t know anybody to call. If it’s an emergency, you need service. Overall he did a very good job. That time, that service itself, was probably very good and he fixed the problem, but I asked them don’t send me the same person and they sent somebody that actually fixed it. Overall, he did a nice job. The quality was all good, the last time it seemed like it worked and we haven’t had any other issues. This gentleman that came out I would give him an A for quality. I don’t think they’re ever quick on responsiveness. On punctuality, they never show up on time. I would only use them again for emergencies. It took a few hours to get that drain all cleared.
Description of Work: There was another problem that I had that they had to be called back 3 or 4 times to get it right. They came out almost 4 times to get it correct. It was another drain that was backed up and they never fixed the problem the first time. So my drains, everything started backing up, back into the sinks and it was terrible. They finally had gentleman that came in that spent time really trying to unclog it instead of thinking they unclogged it and walking away.

It was an emergency service because the pipe was busted. They were able to come in the same day I called. They couldn't make it at the time they told me but kept me updated about their status and still saw me that day. He mentioned while he was working and if I went online, they would give me $40 off the bill. They let me go online and take advantage of that coupon even though I didn't know about it. They fixed it well, they were cordial, nice gentleman. I can't say enough about them, they really saved my tail.

It was very difficult to understand the plumber (English was his 2nd language). I had to get his supervisor on the phone to even understand the initial quote. There was no trip charge but the plumber failed to give an accurate estimate and increased the price twice after starting work. In the end, I could have bought an entire new toilet for less.
