Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Scheduling was easy. They showed up on time. They cleared the drain. And they charged $344 (minus a $40 Angie's List discount) to snake an easily accessible floor drain for a few feet! Not an emergency call or an after hours visit. When I scheduled the work, I also listed replacing a faucet as part of the job. Instead I decided to switch out the wall mounted sink with a laundry tub sink. The plumber who came quoted $450!! I had the new sink there with all of the parts, and the old sink was easy to get to with no cabinetry. It could not have been much more than an hour of work, and he was already there, so there should not have been an additional service call fee. Cannot fathom $344 for a drain cleaning or $450 for switching a sink. I would only call Roto-Rooter in a true emergency and only if no one else could get there.

Great! The technician was very polite and professional. The work was completed quickly and efficiently.

On Sunday, once the technician arrived the clog was cleared within an hour. The next day (Monday AM) we called them to send out the video technician for inspection, said they would arrive by 9:30 AM. The video tech crew arrived on time and found the location of the root penetration and gave an estimate for repair of the pipe, we accepted the price and scheduled the pipe repair for the next day at 10:00 Am. Tuesday the pipe repair technician arrived on time and found the location of the pipe penetration, dug, cut out a section of the pipe, replaced the pipe and backfilled the dirt well. This took maybe 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete. The sewer line has been clear since. They also gave us a two-year warranty on this work!

Coming home late on a Saturday evening, I found that a polybutelene pipe in my crawlspace had burst, flooding the crawlspace with water so fast that the sump pump couldn't keep up. The water had to be turned off at the main. As the next day was Sunday, I assumed I wouldn't get a plumber to come until Monday and would have a grim water-less day ahead. I called the plumber that I generally use the next morning, and was told I would get a callback within a few hours. I then found that Angie's List had a deal for service from Roto Rooter, so I called them. They considered the repair an emergency due to water at the main being cut off, and promised to come within a few hours (I think it was one or two - not positive as this was a while back). The Roto Rooter plumber who came arrived on time, was very professional, and finished the job in very little time. Everything was done before the original time that the other plumber had said they would call me back by! I listed the price of the bill without the deal in approximate cost field ($280.04), but the Angie's List deal cut the bill to $109.04 ( $30.04 plus $79 for the deal). All in all, it was the best experience I could imagine for a plumbing emergency like this.

This was a big deal purchase. That was okay. They had to come back four times. When they fixed the issue, a new issue started. They followed through, but it was a bit of a pain in the as*. The price was very high except that he was not super transparent about it up front so he ended up lowering it and I was happy with that. He ended up cutting the price in half, but the initial price was very high. He did not break out the price so I could see it in advance. It was not a seamless experience.

Service was on time as told. Service was excellent.

It went very well. There is no longer a drip which could have caused major damage over time.

Easy to schedule and we got a rapid response. Plumber Luke arrived on time and was very professional. He explained every step of the process and gave an accurate estimate of the cost. Unclogging the drain was a challenging job because of the location of the block and the age of the plumbing. The plumber did an excellent job of solving problems as they arose and we are very pleased with the overall result.

The entire experience was a disappointment and unsuccessful

This was a $25 big deal purchase and it went very well. I paid a lot more. I don't remember exactly. He fixed everything but the faucet problem. The worker who came out was nice.

It was okay. I spent about $100. They were okay. There wasn't anything that stood out either way. They were fine. The work turned out fine. They repaired the leak. I felt like they were a little more expensive than I expected. I might try someone else because of the price.

Technician #644 Luke arrived within 90 minutes for an after business hours emergency call. He was courteous and polite the entire time. I was told approximately what it would cost. He had to cut out the drywall to make the needed supply line replacement. Luke took the time and effort to cut a smaller opening than what would normally have been necessary. Very pleasant first time experience with Roto Rooter and with Luke. M(y previous plumber no longer serviced my area.

The toilets are still stopping up. Nothing the guy did changed much. I am going to have to contact another plumber to get my problem fixed

Roto-rooter responded to an early morning call with an appointment later that same morning. The plumber was professional and responsive. He had to leave to get a part, but returned promptly to complete the job. Unfortunately, although he had known that a credit card would be used for payment, his credit card processor wouldn't work. My administrative assistant wrote him a check on our account using my signature stamp, but he required an ID from my husband or me. Neither of us was available, so he waited about 30 minutes (eating his lunch in his truck) until my husband returned. Obviously this part of the job could have gone more smoothly--perhaps he could have sent us an invoice when his credit card processor wouldn't work. We also thought the cost of the repair was a little more expensive than we would have expected. This is the second time we have used this Roto-Rooter. The previous time was on a Sunday, when a leak under the kitchen sink poured water onto the floor. Again a morning call led to an appointment that same day with no extra expense for it being on a weekend. That plumber also was very conscientious and professional. He diagnosed the problem as a faulty faucet, advised me about what to purchase, and came back later to install it.

I called Roto Rooter at 4:55pm, the 9th plumber in the area I tried. They were the first to actually answer the phone, and even better, they said they could have a plumber to my house within 2 hours. Even better, they called back in 5 minutes and said someone would be at my house within 30 minutes. Hard to beat that! Desmond Green was the name of the plumber who actually came. He was fast, professional, polite, and knowledgeable. Fixed two problems in no time at all. Strongly recommend.

Went fine, but was expensive for a very simple cleanout.

I had a very good experience dealing with this contractor and would definitely use them again. A very pleasant scheduler called me an hour after I sent the on-line message to request service. She offered to send a technician that very evening. (This was Friday evening, only an hour or so after her call). I was going out and scheduled for the next business day. The scheduler asked me to choose ANY two hour window that was convenient for me, which I thought was very flexible on their part. On the day of the visit, someone called to say a technician was available a little before my window started and asked if it was okay to send them over (yes). The technician was very nice and professional. I showed him a leak being caused by my old faucet, and he also determined that the tube for the spray nozzle was leaking where it joined the water source. I had purchased a new faucet and nozzle in case it was needed, and after hearing his input on the issues, I asked him to install this. He created an estimate and got my approval before starting. He was very careful and tidy. For example, he brought a shop vac and vaccumed thoroughly under the sink both before and after the installation. He also put down a water proof tarp under the sink and was very careful about removing trash and debris. My new faucet looks great and works well.

The Roto-Rooter tech arrived the same day the call was made and on time. His tool was broken, and had to call another tech to come and clear the drain. Job was completed shortly after the second tech arrive, and the problem was completely resolved.

I requested a quote on a toilet install, garbage disposal install and new gas line run under my home to our kitchen island. This provider quoted $200/hr for 2 hours to replace a toilet. $2500 for the new gas line. I ended up going with a local plumber (non brand name) who did everything perfectly for $1000 all in. Shocking how expensive this plumber was.

Stan arrived just a few hours after my emergency call on a Saturday after our sewer line started backing up. He was a fantastic plumber, and finished our repair within a couple of hours. Everything is back to normal. I got a senior discount of $40.00. I really cannot say enough nice things about Stan. He was so careful not to track our floors, and took extra time to explain the problem we had. I hope I don't need a plumber anytime soon, but I will be calling for Stan if I do.

I waited 1.5 hours past the appointment window on back to back days for a plumber to arrive. Finally had to give up waiting each day and call another company. Company did call each day to say I was next, but the first day when they called to tell me this they said it would be another 1.5-2 hours before anyone could be there. The second day when they called 1.5 hours after the window, I asked them to cancel my request. I did receive a call from this company late last week apologizing for my experience and assuring me it was not the norm.

the irst person who said he fixed it --we noticed it was still leaking --so after he left --we called them again and they sent another plumber who replaced a part and fixed it. so it took them 2 trips for it to be fixed.

After thinking by leaking roof problem may be a plumbing problem instead, I called Roto-Rooter and talked to a very nice lady who was able to send a plumber that very same day within about two hours of me calling. They reiterated what you see on their website - no surcharge for evening or weekend calls. The plumber showed up and within a few minutes, was able to determine the sewer pipe running behind one of my walls was cracked. He gave me an estimate and after I agreed, he began to work on replacing it. All in all, it took about two hours and after two days, I have not had an occurrence of a leak. They were basically life savers for us.

The gentleman who came out was very friendly and helpful. He explained all the problems with my heater (i.e., the leaky valve and how it was not up to code). His estimate to replace the heater was about $1200, but I decided to buy a new heater for $400 and install myself. I'm confident they would've done a fine job, but I just wanted to save a little $$$.
