Raleigh Waterproofing did a great job sealing my crawl space and installing a dehumidifier in the crawl space. Prior to their work I had issues with my kitchen cabinets swelling in the summer but have not had that issue since. A year after the crawl space was sealed I had my hot water heater removed from the crawl space. I contacted David Hawkins at Raleigh Waterproofing and he sent a crew out to seal the hole where the hot water heater was at no additional cost.

We have David out our house twice for two separate issues. The first time was for water in our crawlspace. After 3 other companies provided $5k+ quotes for a waterproofing vapor barrier system, David found that our foundation drain was buried (not daylighted properly) and causing water backing up into our crawlspace. He showed me the fix, and since I'm a pretty mechanically inclined person, advised I do it myself to save some money. Didn't charge a dime. Huge props to David and Raleigh Waterproofing for putting the customer first and not trying to take me for a ride!!!

David Hawkins was wonderful to work with. I asked that they do the work during my Spring Break and they did. Arriving early on April 1st, Jim and his crew helped remove my blueberry bushes from where they would be working. By the end of the first day, they had removed all the concrete from around the house, dug out to below the foundation on 3 sides of the house and had removed all the items found under the house. On day 2, they pressure washed the outside of the house, applied the parging and the waterproofing all around the house. Under the house, they were able to complete the digging out to below the foundation, to make a drainage field for the fourth side of the house. They also had to remove the cement pad just inside the crawl space, and started to work on the area for the sump pump. Day 3 became a challenge by the end of the day. Under the house, where the sump pump was to go, they hit solid rock and had a hard time breaking it out to get it in correctly. Outside the house, the rock and piping for the drains was going well till the excavator broke down and after a new one was brought to the site, an old drainage field from the kitchen was found. Not knowing it was there, we were afraid we had gotten into the septic field. After pumping out the excess water and not having seen or smelt any septic, we determined we could continue digging. Jims crew backfilled and tamped down all the dirt they could, but the broken excavator proved to be a challenge, so they called it quits for the day. Day 4 brought lots of rain, to the tune of over an inch. Needless to say, nothing was worked on, except the repairs for the excavator. Day 5, due to water, it was decided to let the ground drain itself. Unfortunately, the sump pump did not work and there was lots of water under the house. I called Jim and he was here within an hour, wired the pump up and the water was drained within a matter of minutes. He said they would be back on Monday. Day 6 Jim and his crew arrived and finished the drainage lines. They also had to reroute the sump pump lines from my existing lines to the other side of the house and make them come through the foundation and feed into the outside drainage lines. Day 7 the concrete people came and set up the forms and poured the concrete. Day 8 Jim and his crew came and applied the liner in the crawl space,backfilled the dirt back up to the sidewalk and foundation of the house, replaced a broken pipe in the yard, seeded and put down wheat straw. Currently we will have to wait 10 days for the concrete to cure before the space between the walls and the sidewalk will be caulked and we are waiting on the electrician to come rewire the sump pump. It should also be noted that David and Jim went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were allowed space outside, they removed and then replaced my propane tank to do the work, and even offered to replant my azaleas and blueberries. I was very impressed with the professionalism of every member of the team, never heard an unfriendly word from anyone. When the original bid was sent to me, David included warranty paperwork, so I could review it before making my decision. If I have any more water problems, I will definitely call Raleigh Waterproofing.

I was more than pleased with my experience dealing with David Hawkins & Jarvis of Raleigh Waterproofing from start to finish. I have 2 new homes that I rent out. We had continued problems with water getting into the crawl space and tried many things including re-grading and gutter revisions to solve the problems to no avail. I scheduled an appointment w/Raleigh Waterproofing. Jarvis met me at both homes the next day. He did a thorough evaluation and within a day, I had a detailed proposal for a solution which included a drawing, warranty information and price. Since water problems are so difficult to control, I was VERY happy to get a fabulous warranty on this work. I had previously talked to another contractor who would not give a warranty. I scheduled the work with David, the owner, and then I had to re-schedule 3 times due to issues with my tenants. David was more than accommodating and each time I was able to reschedule to my preferred day. I was working within a window of one tenant moving out and another moving in and David made that happen for me. We were also trying to do both homes in one day. They arrived right on time to get started and the work involved digging a trench with pipe and gravel around the entire crawl space leading to a pump to pump out any water. It was tedious work digging in a tight crawlspace, but they kept the area neat and clean and got the job done quickly. At one of my homes, the tenant had sick babies and they quickly arranged for 5 extra people on the job to get it done faster to accommodate the tenant. I did not need to be there while they were working. Both Jarvis & David stayed in touch with me by phone and we had great communication during the whole process. They were also adding a vapor barrier to both homes and I decided to increase the scope of the job to include a vapor barrier in a part of the home that I hadn't previously contracted for. I spoke to David on the phone and he gave me a very fair price to add this work, which included a discount because they were already there. I have worked with many contractors over the years and if you need any kind of waterproofing service, I would highly recommend this company. They are a first class act.

Had several discussions with David prior to the start of his work as it had to be coordinated with other work to be done in the crawl space. He was very cooperative as I worked through the total scope of work that was required. Jaris, the crew leader and crew were excellent. They arrived on time and completed the work as contracted for. The crew leader went out of his way to explain the process, and to highlight changes that were necessary as the work progressed. I was very pleased with the entire process. I would be glad to recommend Raleigh Waterproofing to anyone.
