Description of Work: I think I already wrote a review, but in any case, these folks were great. I had to sell a bunch of my mother's jewelry and know next to nothing about fine jewelry. James explained everything he was doing and showed me up to date prices on all the gold and gemstones I had, so I am satisfied that I was treated fairly. He was even kind when I got choked up talking about my mother. I will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I had some old gold that was wanting to get rid of. The staff was very pleasureable to deal with and explained how the process of selling gold worked. + 0 moreWent in with miscellaneous estate jewelry, coins, gold and silver pieces, watches to sell for their cash value. I had taken these items for another appraisal held at a hotel several months ago and Raleigh Gold Jewelry and Coin came in with an offer that was more than twice what I was offered at the first appraisal. I had a lot of pieces that were "costume" jewelry that were of no value, but James took the time to look at everything and divided all the gold into separate categories based on their carat weight (?). He demonstrated how he determined the carat weight of each item and spent about 40 minutes with me. When he was adding up everything at the end, I got kind of lost, so he started over for me, which I appreciated. I feel like I got a fair offer and based on the reputation that they had, I felt comfortable accepting his offer. I had brought in a ring of my own which I did not sell, but it does not fit my finger any longer. James said that they would re-size it for free when I was ready - a nice bonus on top of a good experience.

+ -1 moreI went to Bailey's "special" gold buying event to get a price on the gold I wanted to sell. I felt a little funny about going to this place, but I am very glad I did! This business gave me 15 to 16% MORE than Bailey's supposedly "extra 20%" event prices. I had an outstanding experience because the owner of the business, James, is right there and is completely focused on making his business the best. The lady who worked with me was also excellent, she explained everything she was doing as she was doing it, very different from my experience at Bailey's Cameron Village. I recommend anyone to this business and I will be going back to get some stones mounted.
Description of Work: I went to get a second price quote on the gold I wanted to sell. They did everything in front of me and did not rush me. They explained everything to me and were super nice.

+ 0 moreI took my jewelry to James and then decided to get a second quote from another gold buyer that a co-worker had mentioned; after driving to downtown Raleigh from the Brier Creek area, I definitely ended up going back to James! He gave me a much better deal! I would suggest saving time and gas and going to James first! He is very professional and great to deal with!
Description of Work: I took 2 old rings and a bracelet that I no longer wear to see how much i could get out of them. James weighed them and then gave me a very good offer. The price I got for the pieces was great--much better than the competition!
