Progressive Service Company

I purchased a Big Deal for $99 for $200 worth of plumbing service. The technician came on Friday, Oct. 23rd to do the job. He said it will cost $275 to install a toilet. I also needed a new shut off valve under the kitchen sink and he quoted $95 for it. I would have been okay for the $95 but $275 to install the toilet was just too much. I feel like he inflated the price to cover the difference of the Big Deal offer while other company was only going to charge $129 to install and remove everything that the technician was going to do.

Everything was great. Scheduling was easy, the plumbers were on time and did great work. No complaints.

Larry did the job he was polite and professional. He placed a rug outside my door and upon entering put on shoe covers on his shoes. He explained everything he was going to do before he did and answered all my questions in detail. He put down a tarp on the rug where the pull down stairs was so not to soil with debris upon removing the old hot water heater from the attic with his assistant Justin. He was very thorough and detailed oriented. When the job was done he showed and explained what he did. I would definitely request Larry again in the future to do my plumbing work again.

I had a pipe fitting that burst overnight. I was able to shut off the water until I could call a plumber.Gary and Jesse came out first thing in the morning. They were very professional, very knowledgable, and very freindly. They explained the work needed, quoted a price, and immediately took care of the problem(s). Gary also informed me about an Angie's List coupon that I was able to take advantage...even though Angie's List said I was out of their service area (not true). They didnt have to honor the discount, but did anyway. That resulted in a significant savings. This is the type of company I do business with...and recommend to others.Hopefully I wont have any more leaks, but I will use them in the future plumbing needs.

When I called, all I knew was the 17 year old toilet was leaking somewhere between the tank and the base. "Pete the Plumber" showed up, evaluated the situation and advised me that the tank internals needed to be replaced, as one of the gaskets had broken down to the point it was leaking. We OKed the work, and Pete refurbished the tank internals and the connection to the base. Later that night, my wife noticed some water on the floor behind the toilet. We cleaned it up and put paper towels down to verify. The next day, the paper towels were wet, and thus indicated that the toilet was still leaking. Progress quickly sent Pete back out, and another plumber, Mike, accompanied him. They looked the situation over and found that the bottom of the tank was warped more than the replacement gaskets were designed to handle. The manufacturer of the toilet had gone out of business years earlier, and 3rd party replacement parts is all that exist now, and they are not designed for that much warp. At that point, there were many things that they could have done to satisfy me for a short while, but they wanted to insure long term happiness with their business. So they offered me the incredible opportunity to go purchase a new toilet (got a nice one from Lowes), and they installed it for no additional charge. I am surprised that this level of customer service/satisfaction still exists today, but Pete and Mike showed me that it does.

Work performed efficiently. Went extra mile and tested our water to let up know how safe it was. Very professional. Will use this company for future pluming work.

The technician called before arriving. He looked at the unit and was able to return it to function. Can't ask for any more than this! All for the normal service fee of 89.00.

It went very poorly both times. There prices are high and they do not do good work and because of their lack of detail, raw sewage is flowing into the front yard (see below). The first time I used this company, I got a bill for $932 to fix two leaks and do some minor repair on the water heater. fixed one leak on Saturday which caused another on Sunday It was done on the weekend which elevate the cost to 1.5 times of normal. After fighting with the company, the invoice was reduced by ~$200. So, why did I have to fight with Progressive to get a fair and decent price? Why couldn't they just give me a fair price instead of putting me through the ringer and making me fight for a decent price? They . $932 was extreme for the amount of work and time they did and personally, I do not trust them one bit. The second time was another weekend call and it took a plumber and a helper. They "used a jet machine to clear out the lines" on a Saturday. It was $613 which is on the high end but it was on the weekend. Even though I do not like the price, I can accept it. I went by the house today and noticed water leaking onto the parking lot. As hot as it has been and with no rain, there should not have been water leaking. I did a little investigating and apparently they did not re-cap the PVC plug on the main line which meant toilet paper, toilet water and waste was flowing out into the front yard. How on earth can you be a professional and not re-cap a main sewer line, causing human waste to flow out into the open??!!! I have pictures!!!!

Don!t buy a labour voucher....as then you have no choice but to use them.They are carnivorous and will find some reason to charge you. Their quote was total greed.....more than $1000 above 2 other companies. It's a trap to buy their service voucher. ANGIES must remove it....the company is unprofessional.

It was awesome! Darryl and his team of Gabe and TJ provided professional and quick service. They were very respectful and minimized the impact to us. They worked diligently to get us AC as soon as possible. Darryl was especially patient with me. I thought that something needed to be done different. Not only did he inpect it, but he had someone else come when I insisted. As it turns out, I was wrong, and Darryl was always patient, understanding, and wanting to make sure that I was satisfied as his #1 goal. I will look to use Progressive Service Company for all my needs based on this awesome experience.

Excellent. Darryl Boswell was very professional, detailed, and responsive. From the initial quote and throughout, he made recommendations, answered all our questions, and was on site for the Trane HVAC install. The job required additional services which were priced very fairly. From start to finish, Progressive Heating did an excellent job. We would highly recommend them and use them again.

It was a maintenance package. They were excellent. They called ahead of time and showed up when they said they would. They communicated and showed me a summary at the end of it.

A Rinnai tankless hot water heater had begun to malfunction, intermittently failing to fire up and heati water . Over time, the heater required a greater and greater water flow until it would only fire up and heat if every hot water tap in the house was opened. Several service companies, including the local gas company that had done the original installation were unable to restore proper function. Speculation as to the cause varied but repair attempts were unsuccessful. We called Progressive. They suggested a specific plumber on their staff who supposedly was most knowledgeable about tankless water heaters. The office called the next morning to say he was on his way. He arrived when planned, immediately diagnosed the problem -- restriction of the water flow to the heater -- and diagnosed the source as a complicated installation of several unnecessary valves that had failed over time. He excised the plumbing with the failed valves, replumbed the heater, and immediately solved the problem. He was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and took time to explain his diagnosis and show us his solution. In addition, he advised us on several other minor plumbing issues in the house. We were charged a basic fee for replacing a pipe. Not inexpensive, but we could well have spent much more paying for ineffective service calls from less knowledgeable plumbers. It was actually enjoyable having him in our house.

Not very good. They young man came out. It had to do with the septic actually. He looked at the problem with the backing up at the toilets and he said that it was probably roots that are going to the septic tank and he checked the overflow valve and he said there is no water going to the tank and its going to cost you 700 well there was two ways to go one would have been like $450 and there was no guarantee it was going to get all the roots and the other one was this flushing thing that would get all the roots and then they were going to send a camera in to make sure they got it all out and make sure there is no cracks in the pipe so that was $750 so we opted for that because we did not want to miss anything and when he scoped it out he came in almost immediately and said that he had bad news for us and that our septic leach field had probably collapsed because the water was backing up in the tanks and the tanks were overflowing. To which my husband said did you check to make sure that the water was going to the tanks in the first place. He said that there was no water going to the tank. My husband came home and checked the screen because you know he said that is got to be a problem he says I cant see that leach field has collapsed. Its a very new leach field. It is only 7 years old so he went in an looked at the tank and that is when he discovered that the screen had not been cleaned. The kid said he is not going to charge us for the scoping thing with $750 because he made a mistake on that which is fine but then he said I am going to charge you $150 for coming out and spending time here. My husband was a little upset about that so he called the manager and spoke with him and told that he didn't think it was fair to charge us the 150 if he had just come out and done what he was supposed to do in the first place he would have seen there was a problem and that would have come under the free estimate. I had paid him $140 whatever it was. My husband talked with manager and they did credit us back the $140. I will not call them again. The pricing is high. Quality is not good. They were responsive to both requests and coming out here. He was very professional. His pretense was of knowledge but he did not seem knowledgeable.

They were prompt every time they say they would come in by, I had an issue and they came right on out, it was great. I guess they were fine as far as price.

We have been delighted with the service performed by Progressive Heating and Air as well as their plumbing service, but had never tried the electrical service. We thought the electrician was excellent. He was very polite and efficient. First he tried to save us some money by repairing the old fan, but when that did not work out, he installed a new fan.

They were very professional and answered all my questions throughout the day.

A man came and didn't get it fixed. He said he was going to have to come back the next day and bring some help and he gave me a quote of $924.00 and I did sign the estimate and he said he needed to also be paid up front, so I gave a check for the amount in full. He showed up the next day, alone, he stayed for about 4-5 hrs and still was not able to fix it. He called the supervisor and the supervisor came out and they both examined it. They said it was going to take a lot more time than they thought because the wiring was messed up and needed rewiring and was then told that they were going to have to start charging me more money because the initial estimate was not going to cover it. We went ahead and agreed to pay the $90.00 an hr charges. They left and sent a man back the next morning and was under the house for about 3-4hrs and ended up getting it running. The first guy came in with a bill for another $430.00 - 480.00 and wanted me to sign it and write another check. I told him that I wasn't signing anything and for him to leave the bill and my husband would take care of it. They would not leave. They said they needed their money now and said that I needed to have my husband come home and pay them before they would leave. I felt they were very intimidating. They finally did leave and went back to the home office saying that we refused to pay. I called the home office and tried to explain and he was very rude and hung up on me. The men that were in my house that were refusing to leave also told me that the bill was going up as they waited to be paid! They were just aweful. My husband was at work and was not able to come home right away. They were pushy and intimidating. I've now called 4 times and asked to speak to whoever handles the accounts and was told that they were not going to charge the $90.00hr but were going to charge me for the amount that was originally quoted. I ended up having somone else come out and look at my heat pump unit and was told that it should not have taken any longer than two hours to repair because it was only the fan motor that had blown out. I was told that they had really messed the wiring up and it was now a fire risk. It's going to have be rewired again. I asked for a full refund and have yet to get it.

Generally the service was excellent in terms of responsiveness and quality of work. They showed up on time,communicated appropriately and seemed knowledgeable. There was a degree of forcefulness evident in the way they managed the problem, in terms of "this is how this needs to happen" which, while potentially correct, made me feel like it was either their way or they would leave the site with all of my pumping system pulled out of the ground. Basically at the point I felt as if though I had no choice but to proceed with their recommended solution, not a position I often allow myself to be in. Plus, the quoted price seemed to be a bit higher than what I'd anticipated, by almost a third. I asked for a breakdown of parts and labor and they declined, stating that they only work on a fixed price model. Had their price been more in line with what I'd expected (based on research) it wouldn't have bothered me. Ultimately though, they showed up when expected and fixed the problem, albeit for a very healthy price. Additionally, I just received a quote from them to replace a bladder tank (another part of the well system) and their quote was nearly three times higher than one estimate, and twice the price of another; they were the only one who declined to offer a detailed breakdown of parts and labor. Just the same, they showed up very quickly and were ready to fix the problem immediately and while it's for a steep premium, there's no arguing that would hold great appeal for those who aren't as sensitive to price as I am.

Service technician was very helpful, showed up on time, and gave me tips on how to save money on HVAC. The service was excellent. Also - their plumbing department is excellent too. They have always been very responsive, prompt, and helpful.

We opted to replace the unit because of its age. The installation was seamless and the team were highly professional. We now have an Energy Star certified unit that is highly efficient and will enhance the value of our home if we ever decide to sell it.|

A year ago, we had the fixtures and valve replaced in our bathtub/shower. It took a couple of visits because we have old plumbing and the copper wasn't a standard size. After a few weeks we noticed a leak behind the shower in the wall and someone came out promptly to fix it with no charge. We were very happy with the workmanship guarantee and the overall service.

The simple drain unplugging got very complex as each step was more difficult. The slow drain was a result of an obstruction in the trap and drain. When they tried to clear it the "snake" got stuck in the obstruction. The entire drain system had to be removed from the wall and the ceiling below. They got thedrain working perfectly but the process wa much more involved.
