The plumbing company I regularly use was not immediately available & they referred me to Legacy Plumbing. I was out of town & need work done quickly on a rental house as they had no hot water. Legacy had guys out in all areas & they were able to get there within an hour. The repairs were done quickly & at a fair price.

The work was ok after completion. They charged me by the hour and the service person went to Lowe's to look for parts and included that in the time billed to me. They came up with a bill for work that was significantly more than the time that they used to complete the project. I spoke with their management and they were willing to cut down the charges slightly. However it seemed unreasonable to me that they would take that amount of time to finish a job that only took 3 hours. The manager said he would contact me regarding these issues and he never did.

When I called them about my broken spigot, I was concerned about leaking water under my house. They reassured me that so long as I could turn off the water at the spigot that everything would be OK and he would send someone out the next day and that?s exactly what he did. Aaron showed up and was very professional and nice to talk to. He replaced the hose bib for the spigot and explained to me that the old hose bib was design to hold water in it. Well, that water froze over the winter and split the hose bib causing it to leak. Aaron replaced it with another brand with a better design so we won't have to worry about that next winter. I'm impressed with their prompt response and attention to detail. I will definitely use them in the future! So if you turn on your spigot and notice water draining down your foundation, turn it off right away and give these guys a call!

We called Legacy because they had done a good job installing a new water heater 3 years ago. Recently we heard a "humming" noise in our pipes when we turned on the hot water. They were scheduled to come out the next day between 9-12, and arrived at 11:30. Unfortunately, we couldn't duplicate the issue when he arrived - don't you hate when that happens? But he took a look around our (cramped and very low) crawlspace and saw that the pressure relief valve, which was original to the house and nearly 40 years old, was corroded and leaking. In addition to replacing the valve and shut-off, he located the shut-off in a way that it can be accessed more conveniently. He also identified an issue with a drain outside the house that was allowing water to get into the crawlspace, which we'll fix ourselves. Really appreciate the extra effort, clean work and attention to detail!

The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and the water heaters are working great. The company was easy to get in touch with and very responsive to our needs. One of the shower fixtures leaked and stained the ceiling below, and Legacy paid for the ceiling repair costs without question. On the negative side, we thought Legacy's electrical subcontractor grossly overcharged for his service, but during negotiations, Legacy reduced the cost to us. Also, we had to find our own contractor to make the hole in the granite because the price quoted to us by Legacy was three times the cost we paid to the granite company that we dealt with directly ourselves. Overall, we were very pleased with the service and professionalism of Legacy; however, our advice to the company is to seek out more competitive subcontractors who change an honest fee for the service they provide.

We were awakened at 6AM, Sunday morning, to a high pitched shrill alarm and couldn't figure out immediately where it was coming from. We discovered we had a pin hole leak spraying water from the cold water connection at the top of our electric hot water heater, because of an alarm that was installed for just this purpose, a few years ago when our new electric hot water heater was installed. After looking everywhere in the house to figure out what was going on, we discovered it was the alarm in a closet with the hot water heater. We quickly disarmed/disconnected the alarm and found a puddle of water beginning to form in the saucer bowl under the hot water heater. After further investigation, I discovered the water was trickling down the side of the heater from the tiny spray hole in the copper flex tubing. We immediately turned off the water connections, both going in and out of the heater. As the pressure subsided, the water stopped spewing out. We were not about to call a plumber on a Sunday, so we put that on our 'to do' list for first thing Monday morning. Having already had a previous experience with a previous plumber recently, whose name shall remain nameless, I had already done my investigation on Angie's List and knew who to call this time, Legacy Plumbers. While we had not had any personal experience with Legacy, their write ups on Angie's List left no doubt in my mind they were the one's to call. I was right. Early Monday, I called them. Jamie answered the phone, very pleasant. I told him what the problem was, our location, etc. He said they were totally backed up until Tuesday morning, but would be out first thing between 8-9 AM. No problem. Since we had already gone for 24 hours without hot water, another day was no big deal. True to his word, we received a call @ 7:15, Tuesday morning. Someone would be out by 8 AM. Someone was knocking on our door by 8 AM. Nester introduced himself, as coming from Legacy Plumbing and I showed him exactly where the hot water heater was. I explained we are on well water. He explained he had been doing plumbing for 30+ years and the minerals in well water don't work with copper tubing. At the time the flex tubing was installed, by a previous plumber, it should have been the PVC tubing with brass fittings. He not only changed out all the flex tubing, but also noted the pressure release pipe was incorrectly installed. If the pressure built up, the release would go off and scald us spraying scalding water. So he both replaced the flex tubing on both intake and exist entrances at the top, but also replaced the pressure release tubing to ensure it was going down, away from direct contact. He got the work done in less than one hour, was polite, knowledgeable, courteous, gave us his cards, sent us an email receipt for the bill. While he was here I asked him about the possibility of replacing an old bathroom sink and he said it would be no trouble. If we wanted to purchase the sink, cabinet and fixtures, we could, and then give them a call and they would be happy to install it for $95 per hour for labor. Could ask for better than this. He let us know all the people who work at Legacy Plumbing have long term experience of 20 or more years in the field. We are free to call and ask for him by name. It's nice to finally find a real 'go to plumber' who's knowledgeable and ready to help when called. this is what we've been looking for since our original plumber retired. Legacy Plumbing will be our plumber of choice and who will recommend to others from now on. Thanks, Nester, for all your help!

Legacy of one of two companies I called for an estimate to replace the water main line from the street to the house (on a long, sloped lot). Both companies appeared to use similar materials and processes, but Legacy's estimate was significantly less than their competitor. Legacy was able to schedule and complete the job quickly, and I was happy with my interactions with staff in the office and at the house. This was a permitted job and passed inspection without any problem, and everything has worked fine since. As part of bringing the house up to code, they relocated the shutoff valve to a more convenient location. I also appreciated that they were able to cut a narrow trench from street to house, causing as little disruption to the yard as possible, and scattered grass seed and hay when they were finished (a nice touch). They are on my "go to" list for any future plumbing issues.

People (Technician and Owner) were very nice and polite. Technician came out gave me an estimate. He also took a water sample which we did not request. I did not hear from them after he said that someone would call me back to schedule and give results. I called and asked about scheduling the work and also to find out what the results of the water test. They responded that they could not find any work peformed for the water testing. I was not too upset of the water test because we did not request it. When scheduling he said it would be awhile to because they were waiting for more UV filters to come in. So scheduled it two weeks out to allow for time. Spoke with them the day before, he asked if they can come early and that he would possibly send two guys to work on it so it would be done at by the end of day. I told them that I would leave the garage door open so they could start while dropping kids off to school. Came home after dropping kids off and no one working on the water filter. I had recieved a message saying technician was out sick and would have to reschedule. He said all other technicians were overbooked. I asked what the earliest time would be. He said the earliest would be 5 days later. The reason we went to them was because our realtor recommended them. When I saw that they had a good rating on Angies List, I gave them a call. First time Angies list, let me down.

It was wonderful. We had been told by previous plumbers that we would need to replace the fixture and in order to do that we would have needed tile work done. The Legacy plumber was familiar with higher end hardware and instructed me on the correct replacement cartridge needed. Was informed I could get it myself from a specific supplier or that they could order it. Gave me cost comparisons, time estimates upon which to make a decision. The same plumber returned promptly to replace the cartridge and finish up. We have used Legacy on a couple of occasions and even though they are slightly higher than our previous plumbers they are so much more knowledgeable. Legacy is now our preferred company.

No Show. Called Legacy Plumbing on 10-28-13 for services, was told there had been a cancellation that morning and someone would be out between 11:00 am and 1:00 PM. At 12:30 PM, no one from Legacy had come to my house nor called to explain what was going on, so I called Legacy to find out what was going on as no one had showed up. I was told that someone would be out in approx. 30 minutes. I had to get back to work, so I left at 1:20 PM and still no one called or showed up. I am not sure what happened as when I called there had been a cancellation. I received a v-mail from Legacy at 2:00 P.M. that he was at my house, s after I had gotten back to work. I found Legacy to be very unprofessional. Janice

They're a great company. There's nothing that we disliked. We always go to them first if we have any plumbing needs. They're very punctual. They treat your house and property as they would want to be treated. They're very professional and conscientious. They're really on top of things. We recommended them to our daughter who was nearby and they used them to totally re-plumb their house within the last year.

I noticed a water spot in my driveway so I called several people to come take a look at it. Legacy along with one other responded immediately. As Legacy suggested I hired a leak detector who confirmed that it was a bad leak under the driveway and it could be repaired or the water line from the street to the house could be replaced. After obtaining a quote on a repair and replacement from two companies I went with Legacy because they initially referred the Leak locator and they were slightly less. The office manager recommended that I replace the waterline rather than repair it and then they suggested a different route for the waterline instead of where the original one was located. The team leader explained he would do his best to preserve the landscaping and indicated he will move and what he couldn't save. He said it would take two days. The company arrived on scheduled and there were about 5 trucks in my yard. The team leader and workers all introduced themselves and started work when a man in business clothes drove up and stood in the yard watching. After not coming up to speak I walked over to him and he seemed distance and cool. It was the office manager I spoke with and seemed very friendly over the phone. They cut my phone line and sewer line and I didn't have phone or internet for over a week which I had address with the phone company to get it reestablished. Legacy called the wrong provider initially. They performed the job ...mistakes happen...they were responsive and performed the tasks. The landscaping was more disturbed than they initially indicated. I lost a dogwood, and have to hire some to keep water from pooling in my yard. Also, they didn't follow up with me to make sure the phone/internet situation was addressed and working. Lastly, I felt the office manager's personality suddenly changed once the work started and he wasn't as warm and forth coming with information. My rating would be a little higher if the the office manager would have greeted me and been just as open, responsive and friendly after they had been hired. If they would have followed up to make sure the phone was fixed instead of me working the phone company (I had to make multiple calls and take couple hours off ) and if they would have done what they said they would do with the landscaping (Incurred additional expenses).

I was not able to be at home when the service person came, but my mother was visiting and was authorized to act on my behalf. She reported that he (and his name has escaped me!) was courteous and explained everything thoroughly. She did call me at work so that he could explain that the water heater was nearing the end of its average life span and to confirm that I still wanted the repair. When I indicated that I understood that but that we were going to go ahead with the repair but hoped to go with a tankless heater in the future, he did not push the issue at all. All of the work was well done, I have reliable hot water again, my new faucet looks great and doesn't leak any more, and I'm no longer in fear of water dripping from the ceiling fan! We will definitely call Legacy again if we need any plumbing work done.

I could not have been happier with Legacy Plumbing from start to finish. The tenant at my mother's house had noticed some water in the pan below the hot water heater, and with the water heater located in the attic, I did not want to risk waiting over the weekend for someone to go take a look. The first couple of places I called (choosing based on coupons through Angie's List) said they serviced Youngsville but only one day/week and they wouldn't be able to fit in an appointment until the following week. Legacy Plumbing worked with me, stating they had someone in that area and would fit me in once they knew his current project would be wrapping up. They also said they would give me about an hour notice, which worked perfectly for me since I would be driving up from Raleigh to meet them. I inquired about their diagnostic fees and they explained that if a repair was made, the $90 diagnostic fee (I think that's what it would have been) rolls into the repair rather than being on top of the repair - I had previously been burned by a $175 diagnostic fee on TOP of the repair by another company so this was music to my ears. I also had a handy Angie's List coupon for $10 off. Within a couple more hours, I got a call first from the main office letting me know the technician would be heading out soon, and then I also was called by the technician himself when he was about 45 minutes out. I was very pleased with the level of communication. When I met with the technician and the tenant at the house, he was extremely professional and I wish I could remember his name because he deserves some real kudos from his employer for his courteousness and helpfulness. After taking a look at the water heater, he took the time to explain what had gone wrong and what it would take to replace the expansion tank. He did have to run down the street to get the needed part, but he didn't charge me just for making a trip to the hardware store like so many providers do, and he returned very promptly and had the repair complete in very short order, complete with cleaning up after himself. I would not hesitate to call Legacy Plumbing first for any future issues!
