They came when they said they would come, they cut down a very large tree or less and I've been estimated other services and they were good. They were reliable, they did charge as much as some others would have and they did a good job.

This was a difficult job, in that we had many trees, several very large, and concentrated extremely close to the house. This firm conducted themselves with the skill and experience of seasoned veterans. They worked efficiently, safely and completed a very difficult removal in an extremely competent manner.

Hi [member name removed], How are you doing? I think you may have us confused with another company for two reasons: First, we do not work in Louisburg - this is outside of our service area. Feel free to look at our website for confirmation of the areas that we serve. Second, we do not have an individual with your name and address in our system. I think this review was meant for another company.... Thanks and have a great afternoon!

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate - Leaf and Limb sent an email the day before confirming the date. On the scheduled day, Leaf & Limb never showed up - this was due a mix-up on their end. Leaf and Limb took full responsibility, apologized, and worked diligently to make things right. We re-scheduled the appointment and they arrived on time. They apologized again and were very professional.
Description of Work: Scheduled an appointment for an estimate - Leaf and Limb sent an email the day before confirming the date. On the scheduled day, Leaf & Limb never showed up. Through subsequent correspondence with Leaf and Limb, I learned of a mix-up where another customer canceled their appointment. This was mistaken for my appointment. We arranged for an estimate the following week. Leaf and Limb arrived as scheduled.

Response from Leaf & Limb
Hi (member name removed), Thanks for the feedback. I am very sorry for the mix-up on your estimate. This was an honest mistake on our part. Unfortunately, we do make mistakes from time to time. I have fully investigated what went wrong and I would like to take a minute to explain exactly what happened: When you called, Andrea took your information and wrote it down. Immediately following your call, she received another call from an individual wanting an estimate. She received many such calls that day - it was a very busy day. Later, when she entered your information into the computer (as well as the information for everybody else that had called), she accidentally put another caller's phone number into your file. Thus we really did have the wrong number on file for you. Then, per your instructions, Stuart (the estimator scheduled to look at your job) called that number before heading over to meet with you. A woman answered, which Stuart assumed was your wife. We now know, of course, that it was not your wife - it was actually the wife of another individual for whom we were doing an estimate later in the week. The woman seemed a bit confused, but said that her husband was not at home and that they would need to reschedule the appointment. Since this happens on a regular basis, we did not think much of it at the time. Then you emailed us the next day saying you were upset that we had missed the estimate. At first we were very confused, but after discussing the matter with you via email, we put two and two together and realized we had called someone else entirely. We run our business to the best of our abilities. But even the best of our abilities are not perfect - we do make mistakes sometimes. And this was an honest mistake, one we can easily fix - we would love the opportunity to make this up to you by providing you with an free estimate, if you are willing. I think you will be pleased with the professionalism and expertise of our ISA Certified Arborists. Regardless of your decision, we apologize once more, we appreciate the feedback, and we hope you have a wonderful day! All the best, Basil Camu, Manager Leaf & Limb Tree Service

I was impressed from my initial contact. I first talked to a person in the office who clearly explained the process and was able to answer my questions. I scheduled an estimate for later that same week - and he arrived on time. We walked through list I had prepared, and he offered suggestions that would both enhance appearance and tree health. He also explained the pricing model so the ultimate quote was no surprise. I had other copnstruction work being done at my house, so it was difficult for me to commit to time within the next 2 weeks. They were very flexible, and we coordinated the work. During the wait, they sent me their insurance documentation. On the day of the work: the crew arrived on time, walked through everything with me one more time, and completed it all within a couple of hours. I had asked to have the larger logs saved. They cut that up into 18 inch lengths for my fireplace and stacked it under the tree. They ground the rest, and clean up was very thorough - you would have a hard time telling that they were there - other than for the additional sun light. This is very professional group. If I have future needs, I will definitely consider Leaf & Limb.

Leaf and Limb promptly responded to my phone call, arrived on time to give me an estimate, and provided an estimate similar to that of the 2 other companies I asked for estimates. I chose Leaf & Limb (a) b/c of Angie's List reviews, and (b) because of their professional demeanor and, since I work 60+ hours a week, their punctuality. They cut the tree, cut it into smaller pieces, and routed out the root base quickly and neatly. Notably, they didn't do any damage to the brick wall that was next to the tree, nor to my roof (which the tree was towering over), and they were courteous to our anxious neighbors. They arrived on time and left quickly after a thorough clean-up job. I had another tree fall in my back yard, and we were able to negotiate an on-the-spot job to cut that tree into firewood as well. in terms of documentation, I received prompt evidence of insurance from them before they began the work, and they provided good documentation of the work done for billing purposes. Every person I spoke to with this company was a delight to work with. Top notch!
Description of Work: We had a large oak tree very close to our house (and our neighbor's house) that had a dead, hollow trunk. I needed it cut down, cut into firewood pieces, and have the root ball routed out, even though it was very close to an historic brick wall. As well, I asked them to cut a downed tree into firewood.

They showed up as scheduled, with the right equipment and personnel to do the job. Communication was good throughout the job and they called to make sure I was pleased with everything before invoicing. They worked quickly, cleaned up after and I was quite pleased. The crew was friendly and professional even though the day was blazing hot. I think Colin and Basil and their employees can handle anything they take on, and will give you good advice.
Description of Work: I contracted with them to remove 7 very tall, very large pines. One of the largest was less than 3 feet from my house. A couple were heavily shrouded in vines. Colin came out, took the time to let me know how they would proceed, and gave me the written estimate the same day.

I was impressed with the punctuality and professionalism.
Description of Work: Leaf and limb removed five pine trees from my front yard. They were not the cheapest quote I received, but they were the cheapest quote for a crane. The crew showed up on time and removed all five trees before lunch (plus a small dogwood and cedar). Excellent cleanup as well. It took a few days for the stump grinding crew to get on site, but that was due to wet weather. No fault of Leaf and Limb.

We were a little surprised at how expensive it is to take down trees in general, but saw the reviews on Angie's List and had Leaf and Limb come out to do an estimate. They were very polite and responsive and explained some different options. We couldn't really afford to have the trees we wanted removed, but they went through some different options and explained that if were willing to cut up and remove the fallen trees ourselves it could save us about 2/3 of the price. We had them come back a few times to reprice while we finalized our decision on what work we wanted done and sent a number of emails back and forth. They schedule things way in advance, and let us know the week when they would come do the work. We didn't need to be there, but wanted to watch to make sure everything went okay. They were real pros! I had no idea how difficult and delicate the job would be, but they brought out a whole crew and carefully took down each tree piece by piece without damaging anything. They even set up a zipline at one point to send parts of one tree that was next to the house away without hitting anything. These trees were massive, and now we have a big cleanup project but I appreciate their flexibility on price (I get the sense that most people just have them completely remove the trees) since we are on such a tight budget. They cleaned up the driveway nicely and made some cuts at my request to help us along in the cleanup. We later decided we wanted a stump in the front ground and they came out and took care of that as well at a good price. Highly recommended!!

Plusses: I had a large fir/Cryptomeria that brushed against my house and needed to be trimmed. The representative explained to me that there was no way this could be done and keep the complete attractiveness of this 2 story Christmas tree like tree. The problem was that this type of tree only had needles at the end of the branches. Once it was cut away from the house, there would be a "hole" showing the bare inside of the tree. I appreciated the knowledge and honesty and said that was ok. The representative said the cost for this 1 service was below their minimum and offered to do another simple trim to make up the difference. Again, I appreciated the honesty and fair suggestion. Not a plus: Everything happened a bit slower than the company said it would. When the job was done, there was a hole as expected which detracts from the tree's appearance. However, the tree trimmer said that the gap would begin to fill in after spring arrived and tree growth started again. I appreciated the information.

Hi Member, Thanks for the positive feedback! We appreciate it very much! I am sorry for the delays on your job. We unfortunately had 3-4 rain outs between the time that you booked your work and the time we actually completed your work, which set our schedule back. Had it been warmer weather, we could have worked through the rain and kept the schedule on track. Thanks for your business and have a wonderful day! Basil Camu Leaf & Limb Tree Service

We've used this company twice to remove tall (50 ft+) hardwoods from our property. Both times they were prompt in coming out and giving us quotes. Their prices tend to be in the mid-range - not the most expensive and not the cheapest. We verified they had insurance. The work was done well and as expected. They usually call you the week they come out, so it may be a little hard to plan far ahead. Overall we would recommend this company.

A clean cut, college aged young man came out and looked at our tree. He told me what was normal for that type of tree and what to look for as signs that it is no longer healthy. He talked about options for removing part of the tree to reduce risk to the house, but also said that if it was his tree he would leave it. He talked about if it fell where it would fall and what kind of damage it would do, and also what kind of storm it would take for it to fall. He gave me an estimate for pruning to raise the canopy and let more light into the yard. It was about $200, but he said that if I wasn't in a rush, they could come out in January during their slowest season and do the pruning at a discount. He followed up via email and we have scheduled for the work to be performed in January.

The work was done quickly and efficiently and with a minimum amount of damage to the front yard. I was very happy with their responsiveness, their efficiency and the overall cleanness of the operation. Except for the short stump (which I chose to leave in place) It was as if the tree had never been there. Highly recommended and will use again if needed.
Description of Work: We had a dead tree in our front yard that needed to come out and I called Leaf & Limb Tree Service partly based on online reviews and partly based on their terrific website. They had a representative out within a couple of days and exactly when they said he would be there. He took notes and we talked about options resulting in an estimate on the spot which I accepted.

Very positive experience. Great customer service even though my job was a small one. Andrea explained the process for the job and provided accurate time estimates for job completion with involvement of 811.org check. When job completed, no one could tell that the overgrown shrub had ever existed there. Thomas left the area very clean & even blew away leaf & pine debris from steps and parking pad. Looking forward to putting in a more manageable bush next spring.

I hired Leaf and Limb Tree Service to trim branches from an Oak Tree in my front yard. The company sent an overly optimistic estimator to survey and quote a price for the job. After waiting one month for my turn to occur on their work schedule, the trimmers arrive at my home and tell me that they could not do the job because the tree branches were too close to power lines. I can appreciate the difficulty of the job, but I was most angry about the time I lost waiting for them to perform a job that was beyond the scope of this company's capabilities. No compensation was given to me for my time lost, only a chorus of apologies.

Response from Leaf & Limb
Hi Member, Thank you for your feedback, and I certainly understand your frustration. Every once in a while we have a situation whereby the sales representative thinks a job can be done, but then when the climber gets in the tree he determines that the risk is too great. When this happens, we defer to the judgement of the climber since no project is worth the health - or life - of one of our employees. In the case of your job, the climber ascended the tree and gained a new perspective that the sales representative could never have taken into account from the ground. We spent nearly two hours at your job site, trying every possible technique to get your limbs down in order to complete your job in a safe manner. I'm sorry we were not able to do so. Please let me, or any of the staff here at Leaf & Limb, know if there is anything we can do to be of further assistance. Sincerely, Basil Camu Manager, Leaf & Limb Tree Service

The service went very well. They scheduled an appointment to review what I wanted done, discussed the work with me, and promptly provided a price quote by email. I got one other estimate from another company that was significantly more expensive. They scheduled the work for several weeks out. On the day of the work, they arrived promptly and worked hard for a good portion of the day until the work was completed. They were responsive to some additional small requests I made and left the yard neat and orderly at the end of the job. I have absolutely no complaints.
