+ -1 moreI was nervous but it all came together great. Gerald's arrived with the right equipment, moved the piano safely and without issue and the family was happy that they did not have to worry about moving it onto the trailer. Now the piano can enjoy a new home!
Description of Work: We were giving my Mom's 1903 upright grand piano away to a family that was picking it up using a trailer. The piano is probably over 600 pounds and I was concerned about the safety of moving out of our home and into the trailer. I contacted Gerald's and arranged for his team to meet at our house when the family arrived.. He quoted me $100 which I felt was very reasonable.

+ -1 moreSaturday June 1st., Mr. Clarence and Carl showed up as scheduled and had all items loaded, padded and strapped down in just over an hour which was 1/2 the time I expected. I led the way, carrying some china and crystal in my vehicle. We arrived in Lorton, VA in just over 4 hours and Mr. Clarence and Carl had everything unloaded and placed where requested in less than an hour. I have no way to put into words just how pleased and impressed I am with their work, professionalism, speed and personalities. They (Gerald's Piano and Organ Service) are the finest people I have had dealings with in my adult life! Anyone needing a piano or organ moved (including furniture etc.), serviced or tuned would be crazy not to call Mr. Clarence. He and Carl will "Make Your Day!"
Description of Work: Mr. Clarence gave me a price at least 1/2 that of three other companies listed on Angie's List. They loaded, moved and unloaded an upright Baldwin piano and bench, china cabinet, large dinning room table, buffet, double bed head board - foot board- side boards - mattress - box springs and chest of drawers w/mirror, wing back sofa and chair, antique desk, antique cabinet style Singer sewing machine w/stool and four large boxes with silver, linens etc. from Durham, NC to Lorton, VA (the Washington DC metropolitan area).

+ -1 moreThese guys were great! They arrived on time to move our piano. They were very careful and placed the piano exactly where we wanted it. I also had a couple of heavy pieces (china cabinet, bookcases) that they moved for me. They were great at protecting our newly installed hardwood floors as well as taking care to handle the furniture without banging walls, ect. Great experience! If we ever need to move our piano in the future, we will be calling these folks.

Description of Work: We needed to have a console piano moved about 4 miles to our daughter's home. Reviewed Angie's List and contacted Gerald's service.. We spoke on the phone about the piano, number of steps at each house and the distance then Clarence gave a quote for the move. Clarence Gerald was availabe earlier than planned and called to see about coming at an earlier time. He arrived with his helper Carl and started the job. Both were pleasant and moved the piano with care. Our daughter's house has a steep driveway and a walkway to the front steps. Clarence and Carl with a lot of muscle power moved the piano to its new location with care. An extra benefit was the foot action of Clarence and Carl as they lifted the piano off the trolley and did a soft kick to send the trolley away from the piano so they could place the piano on the floor.

Description of Work: Mr. Gerald retrieved a baby-grand piano packed it for shipment, moved it to my home and set it up. The work included packing the piano for removal and removing the piano from the house where it had resided prior to purchase. That house was being sold, so avoiding damage to the structure was very important, and made difficult by the elevation.

Description of Work: Initially, the call I made to Gerald's Piano Service was to move an upright piano. The job became more than that once a moving company I hired to move my family cancelled our scheduled date. I ended up doing the move myself with the exception of a few heavy and large items. When Gerald called to schedule a pick- up date for the piano, I shared my situation with him. To my surprise, Gerald offered to move the rest of my belongings at no cost. He was truly a life saver. There are no words that could express how thankful I am to him. All my belongings were moved quickly and without a scratch. He was very helpful and very professional. He did all this and in such short notice. Once again, thank you so much for our help Gerald.

They arrived at the destination address speedily and prepared to unload the piano. The destination address had a steep driveway and 6 to 8 steps to get into the house. They accomplished all of the work skillfully and without any damage to the piano.

+ -1 moreI called on 02/29/2012 to get an estimate for what he would charge to pick up the piano in my home and deliver it to my cousin's home in Clinton is about sixty-five miles from my house in Cary. He quoted a price off $225.00 round trip, and I told him I would get back with him after talking to my cousin. I had to talk to my cousin about the price and determine a date for the move. After confirming the date and price, I called Gerald's back and scheduled the date for the move. They arrived within the scheduled time and were very efficient with wrapping, moving and loading the piano. On the other end in Clinton, my cousin was very pleased with the move and price. While they were at my home, I ask if they would help me by unloading the 'cat litter' in my car and bring it in the house. They were very helpful for me.

They handled it expertly and even suggested that the pieces be moved in seperate trips to protect the finish. They did an excellent job. I would recommend them. They know how to handle the job and they dealt with you honestly.
