I sent an email to garage door specialists inquiring about door repair or replacement. They scheduled a time for a quote. He came and looked at the door and the operator, suggested the operator might be able to be fixed, but i opted for a new one. They scheduled a work date. The installer came and did the work quickly and efficiently. I had discussed not attaching the bottom weather stripping until after the door is painted, since the wood was bare, but the installer attached the weatherstripping on the bare wood. He removed it, but some of the nails would not come out without damaging the wood, so they got pounded in. Since the previous door had rot at the bottom, there was no way i was not going to protect the bare wood with some primer and paint. The installer was very nice about it and left me weatherstripping and nails. He pointed out to me that i probably needed some safety cables in the extension springs, since they were old. If the quoter had noticed this, i would have added this to the list of things to be done. Compared to my last service experience, this went very well.

Same day service (specialist was here in two hours from my initial phone call). He assessed the situation, made a recommendation, and performed the work in a quick, thorough and professional manner. He did not try and "sell" me on anything I didn't need. Solid!

We ordered the same garage door that is on the main house. They brought the correct one and did an excellent job installing it. No problems.

I called the company and was able to set up a time (a two hour window) which worked for me - 8 to 10 am Friday morning. The repairman arrived around 8:45. He checked out the operation of the door to confirm what was happening. He then told me what he thought was wrong and that he had the parts in the truck. But he also told me that Genie's are not always repairable so we could try to fix it but it wasn't a sure thing. He worked on it and an overall checkup on the door, the springs, etc. for about 20 minutes. And, it was fixed. It was great! I have used this company before when one of the springs snapped and they did a great job on that, too (which was several years ago).

I went from feeling foolishly embarrassed to just dumb. Shoulda waited but I saw the dog and wanted to get out before she ran behind the car. What a relief to pay double digits for that stupidity, as opposed to three.

Door panel appears to be better built than original use by builder. Estimator called before arrival as request and arrived promptly. Since I have a standard width garage door, the estimate was quick. The estimator inspected the damaged door but did not physically measure the door. Within the hour after he left, the office called to make appointment for installation, three days later. Installer arrived promptly with replacement the part. Installation was completed within half an hour. Installer invited me to watch if I wished and happily answered questions I had. He also told me disposal of the replaced part is included in the price. Price was very reasonable compare to another quote by a highly rated firm listed in Angies List. They also honored the 10% AngiesList coupon.

Damon did the replacements and lubrication in twenty minutes while exlaining some of the work he was doing. It is obvious that he knows garage doors very well.

They were good. They came quickly and fixed it quickly at a reasonable price.

It went very well. The repairman came when he said he would and repaired the door with no problems.

All personnel I dealt with were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The quote was $200 cheaper than most of the others I received yet they still offered a quality product with competent installation.

Door wouldn't open in cold weather. Analyzed problem and overhauled tracks and operation. Had another service look at the problem the year before and they could not fix it. Damon at Garage Door Specialist saw what was wrong and fixed it right off the bat.

The installer was slightly late but the installation was fast and top-notch. The only rub was that the receptionist had told my wife only part of the cost, not the entire cost.

I found out that my spring/coil had snapped in two first thing in the morning. They answered my call before 8 and were able to schedule someone from 1 - 3. Unfortunately, due to the job before mine he did not arrive until after 4:15. The only thing I would do differently is have them call before they came so, I did not wait at home as long. Once he was there however, the service was excellent and the technician was friendly and knowledgeable. Even better, he had no objections to me watching as he did the work. I would definitely call again...fingers crossed though that I won't have to.

I called around 9:30 am and was told that a repairman would be at my house sometime between 11 and 1. I got home at 11 and the repairman was already in the driveway ready to work. He replaced the single broken spring with 2 new springs for better performance and adjusted the motorized garage door mechanism. The entire job took about 30 minutes. The repairman, Dwight, was also extremely friendly and professional. I could not be more pleased. At $370, the price was a little higher than I expected (seems like the typical spring replacement runs between $200-250, but then again they did replace the single broken spring with 2 new springs), but for the convenience of it I consider it money well spent.

I contacted 3 garage door companies inquiring about price and installation. Garage Door Specialist was the best price and could take care of the problem the quickest. Jimmy Davis with Garage Door Specialist gave me a price over the phone. He met me the same day at the job site to confirm what was needed. New door was installed the next day at the appointed time with no delay. Job site was cleaned up including hauling away old door and trash. I had this done for my mother-in-law. I replaced some molding 2 days later and inadvertently moved the electronic eye. She called me 2 days later and said the door was not working. I called Jimmy and told him we had a problem (not knowing I had moved the eye). They came out the next day, found the problem and corrected it immediately at no additional charge even though I was at fault. I call this great service even after the sale. I would recommend Garage Door Specialist highly for anyone. Outstanding!

They responded promptly. Work was completed within days of my phone call. Excellent service. The technician was courteous and seemed very competent and knowledgeable. I would call them again if I had any future garage door needs.

Our door has gotten noisy, shaken and very temperamental over time. We had another company out and they were great about sending the estimator, but we never actually received an estimate after making repeated calls. I found Garage Door Specialists on Angie's List, emailed them in the evening, their appt setter called me FIRST THING the next morning and set up a time the following day for their man to come out and look at the job. He called before arriving, came on-time and not only gave us a good estimate, but was able to perform all the work in about an hour. We couldn't be happier, especially since we were concerned that our door would stop functioning before we got the work done by the prior company.

He was punctual. He was very responsive. He was professional and really knew what he was doing. He did quality work and the finished work looked great. He cleaned up well, and the price was excellent. He is doing additional work soon.

I was very pleased from start to finish with the experience with Garage Door Specialist. They responded promptly to my request to schedule an estimate via the internet (the other company did not), they showed up on time for the estimate (the other company did not), their quote was 25% less than the competitor, the installer showed up on time and completed the work professionally quicker than they estimated and hauled away all debris. Very professional service from start to finish. I highly recommend GDS!

They said it would take an hour, but they were done in roughly 30 minutes. Both doors were quieter and moved smoothly. However, after they left I went in the garage and saw one of the windows had a major crack. I called the shop and the woman put me on with the rep who did the work. He stated that it could not have been them as they would have said something. I stated I knew it had not been broken as of that morning, but he was insistent it could not have been them. He did offer that I could pay for them to replace the glass. What he did not know was that we (my partner and I) had just looked over the windows on Sunday (the service call was Monday) to see about cleaning them and having new caulking. We decided to wait on the cleaning until after the service call the next day, so we looked at those windows very closely and it wasn't broken. Also, there are grease smudges on the window that tell me they were in contact with the glass directly.

Great job. Emailed at 7 am, talked to Jimmy at 8, had the repairman out at 12 noon, and the job was done!

Our garage door was stuck shut with both of our cars stuck inside. When I talked to their scheduler and explained that we needed help as soon as possible, she called one of their technicians to see if he could fit us in. Jimmy came by the house within 3 hours. He was very professional and explained everything. The spring above our door was broken in half. He replaced it with 2 new springs (after explaining why he recommended 2 and giving me the choice). He also checked over our opener and told me it looked like it was still in good shape. They responded quickly and the service was good quality from a professional and friendly technician.

A torsion spring in the garage door broke over Memorial Day weekend. I called the company first thing Tuesday morning and they had a technician over Wednesday afternoon to fix it. The technician was very personable, friendly but business like. The quote I received on the phone was $55 for labor + $75 each for two torsion springs. The technician recommended we also replace the drums which he said were getting worn, which ended up costing another $95. He also examined the rest of the garage door system, pointed out various repairs made by the previous homeowner and educated us about the system in general. Update June 2014: One of the torsion springs broke after about 7 years of use. They volunteered the information that they had a 10-year warranty, and stood behind their work, replacing both springs and charging me only $85 for the service call instead of the $380 they initially quoted. The technician (Dennis) also put on heavier springs because he felt that the previous ones were too light. I'm impressed with the way this company does business and would definitely work with them again.
