It went very well. I initially contacted Andrew Wharton through information I found on Angie's List for Acorn Arborists, but Andrew informed me that he sold his company to Everett Tree Service and was working for that company now. He listened carefully to my dilemma and guided me through the process of making an appointment with Everett Tree Service. I was able to make an appointment right away. The day before my scheduled appointment, Andrew called to let me know that he may be arriving late (which I appreciated the heads up). When Andrew arrived for the appointment the next day (on time -- in fact, 30 minutes early), he verified my concerns about a dead tree close to my property. He explained what he would include in the report and asked if there was anything else he could do to help. I received a draft for the report the next day, and the content was professional, accurate, and to the point. (I requested a hard copy of the report on company letterhead with pictures, but I have not received that yet at the time of this review, but I had what I needed to move forward, which was an electronic version of the report.) Everett Tree Service provided an easy method of online invoicing and payment collection for the services rendered. I was grateful and appreciative of the expertise Andrew Wharton provided.
Description of Work: I needed a hazardous tree assessment report for documentation purposes to submit to my neighbor, my neighborhood HOA, and insurance company.

Excellent! Professional from the initial visit, quote, scheduling, performing the job and invoicing. A great experience and quite a show watching the Everett team lift whole pines over our home. The coordination between team members was outstanding as each member helped the other be mindful of landscaping and structures while doing the job. Everett left our property clean with all waste removed. I have already recommended Everett Tree Service to friends and colleagues. If you need tree work done, I recommend getting a quote from Everett.
Description of Work: Removal of 4 trees plus trim back limbs hanging over our home and property. The job required a crane to remove 3 pines within feet of our home and detached garage. Everett coordinated with our neighbors to insure the safety of outdoor pets. The job included grinding the stumps level with the surrounding ground and removal of all yard waste from the job. The 4th tree removed had all major underground utility lines within feet of the tree's stump.

Everett Tree Service was recommended to me, by a neighbor, after two large trees came down on my house causing a good bit of damage. Holes in the roof, doors jammed and structural damage. I called him and he rearranged his schedule in order to come out the same day in order to prevent any more damage from rain. It was the most efficient operation I have ever seen. The removal and clean up was completed without any more damage to the house. A crane was needed in order to remove the tree. The price was a lot less than I expected considering the difficulty of removing the trees and cleaning up the area. A would whole heartily recommend Everett Tree Service to anyone.

It was just one tree but a very big job. They were able to position the crane and all of the equipment along the driveway. The operation was well-coordinated (and an awesome sight if you haven't ever seen a tree taken out in pieces with a crane; entertainment for the whole neighborhood). There was minimal impact on the yard and no impact on the driveway or neighbors. The only thing that could have been better was that the arborist underestimated the amount of time the job would take; it was a full day's job but scheduled for half-day, so the crew had to work quite late.
Description of Work: Jimmy Everett and his crew removed one 100 year old oak with 2 leaders, VERY large tree partially overhanging the house and surrounded by other trees. They cut most of the branches into firewood length and stacked it for us, hauled away the trunks and largest branches, and ground the stump.

The owner worked with my schedule, came with a team of experienced workers, and cleaned up afterwards. I recommend them to my sister in law when they needed trees removed.
Description of Work: I have used their services twice. Both times they removed a very large dead oak tree that was next to our home. The second time they also trimmed several large limbs from over the house. There gigantic crane just picked up the trees and moved them away.

A very large 150 + year old oak in back yard fell spontaneously in fair weather. In order to access tree, Mr. Everett's crew had to work on a slope and in a small creek bed. Some of it required a crane which had to be positioned over the house from the front driveway. Jimmy's crew of 10 men arrived promptly and worked hard without stopping except for lunch. The stump was also very large but his men removed big chunks and ground down the rest so there is a nice mound of sawdust and dirt where the tree was. They left the area neat and clean. A competitor was going to do this same job for $3100. Mr. Everett is very knowledgeable about the tree removal business, has all the right equipment, and does the job in a professional manner. No way you can go wrong here!

The owner is a great guy and really professional. I'll use them again if I ever need more trees cut down. They charged a flat rate to bring in a crane to have a few trees cut down. The extra trees were added on top of that.
Description of Work: I had 9 trees cut down. Price was great. I was expecting more per tree close to $3500 total.

Ever see a tree fly? On Monday 01 February, I saw trees flying around my property. Let me back up to Monday morning, as the efficient operation began with the experts from Everett Tree Service arriving within 3 minutes of their scheduled time. They got right to work. I had remembered to move the large items out of the way (i.e., notified neighbors, moved cars, trucks, garbage carts, etc.) but had forgotten about three large mulching containers and a bird feeding station in the back yard. Not a problem, within minutes, all 'damageable' items were moved out of the way, including one small live plant that would have been in the way of a crane support leg. Everett Tree Service borrowed a shovel and dug, moved, and replanted the plant out of harm's way. Then the true work began. Prior to the crane's arrival, workers had fanned out and moved 4x8 steel plates from one of the trucks and covered our driveway with overlapping plates, to protect it against potential cracks from the weight of the crane. When the crane arrived and was in place, they offloaded more steel plates, sufficient number to place 7-8 under each extended support leg of the crane. While that was going on, one employee suited up with climbing equipment and was hoisted by the crane to the top of the first tree. He tied the crane ball to the tree and, using his own ropes, slid down the tree to the base and as the crane held the tree in place, the employee cut the trunk at ground level, the tree was hoisted up by the crane and 'flew' over the driveway and into the street where the BobCat waited to grab the base of the trunk and gently reversed as the crane slowly released the line, lowering the tree onto the street. As soon as the tree was on the ground, it was attacked by a group of employees with chain saws who cut each and every branch from the trunk. The group then began to pick up the branches and feed them into the largest mulcher I had ever seen, while one worker cut the trunk into lengths that would fit in the bed of one of the trucks. During the day, as one truck was filled with tree trunks, it left and was replaced by a second truck without delay. While the first tree was being reduced to mulch and manageable lengths of wood, the crane and the climbing employee were busily at work preparing the next tree to be removed. As soon as they were through cutting the first tree and loading it in the truck, the second tree was flying about, waiting for the BobCat to 'catch' the base, so it could be safely lowered to the ground. And so the day went. A VERY efficient operation, even at one point, including a traffic director who stopped action in the street so my neighbor could drive through the operation. The traffic director also provided 'safe passage' for the US Mail truck, so the mail could get through! I lost count of the trees removed, but as darkness overtook the operation and it came to a close, I know the count was over 20 mid to extra large trees that had been removed, and the base of the tree had been ground below ground level, such that the only thing left on site was a pile of mulch from the mulched tree trunk base. Jimmy Everett sent a small team back to our house on Tuesday morning to finalize the removal of one rather over-sized huge tree which had been taken down in sections. When I went out to thank the crew for their work, I found them out in the street with brooms and shovels, sweeping up sawdust and rendering the cul-de-sac cleaner than when they arrived! Very impressive!! I was very pleased and satisfied with the work done to remove these trees. We'll probably need more trees removed in the future, and you can be sure that the first place I'll call will be Everett Tree Service!
Description of Work: We needed some trees removed. We met with Jimmy Everett to discuss our needs and listen to his excellent suggestions and proposals. The price was right and we agreed to proceed, with the removal set for Friday 05 February. On Sunday, 31 January, we received a call from the provider suggesting that the operation be moved forward to Monday, 01 February, to avoid the effects of promised rain (muddy and wet grounds) later in the week. We agreed, and on 01 February Jimmy and Crew arrived and removed more than 20 trees, including some that were quite large.

The man who came out to give the estimate for the job was very nice and professional. He came exactly when he said he would and quickly completed his work. The crew who came to do the job also came exactly when they said they would. They too were very nice and professional. I was amazed at how much they accomplished in such a short amount of time. I was also "thrilled" with the look of the trees....they did not look butchered......which I have seen happen with other providers in the past. They also cleaned up all the mess. If I had to list anything about this company that was not A-Okay it would be the lady who answers the phone. When I called to inquire about using their services she was nice and professional, however, subsequent communication with her was not nearly as cordial. Perhaps the ice storm created extra work and problems that "soured" her disposition. Nevertheless, the good was so good that I would not hesitate to use their services again.
Description of Work: They removed several limbs from trees close to the house and overhangs from neighbors. They also removed dead shrubbery and pruned other shrubbery.

The entire job - cut, shred, load and clean-up - was completed in one morning. The staff was professional and went out of their way to do the job to our satisfaction. They put pads down so their equipment wouldn't damage our lawn and avoided all of our plants and shrubs - absolutely nothing was damaged. They also cleaned up very well when finished. We've used Everett before and will definitely use them again. Absolutely first-class service.

Everett Tree Service was exceptional! They arrived on time - and Jimmy, the owner, met with me in advance. After looking at the project, he determined that they needed to use a crane to effectively remove the trees from the back yard. He also explained that our quote was for using different equipment, but he was not going to charge us more to use the crane. He wanted to preserve our yard - which was much appreciated! The crew was professional, considerate and very good at their jobs. They were everywhere - in the crane, on the ground, in the bobcat, in the trees, feeding the limbs into the chipper - everywhere! The project attracted considerable attention from our neighbors - especially the little boys. At one point I saw crew members interacting with the kids - what a bonus! They were here for 3.5 hours - and when they left, the only evidence of their visit was a couple of piles of wood chips. My yard was intact, the street was clean, and they even used the leaf blower to clear off my deck! I will definitely use them again - and recommend them without reservation. It's a joy to work with contractors who do more than they promise - and with complete professionalism.

I have used Everette Tree Service for about a dozen years. They do outstanding work, they are professional, they are timely and very courteous. Their job was so well done I could not figure out where the tree fell. When I came home all I saw was a tree stump and a small amount of saw dust. I will only call them for my tree service needs! Thank you Mr. Everette and team.

Came home Thursday evening to find that an oak had fallen across the top of our drive, blocking in two cars, going across a garden (which escaped mostly unscathed) and brushing against the far end of the house. I contacted Everett Tree Service via the Web Thursday evening. (My co-workers highly recommended them, and they received great reviews on Angie's List.) By 6:40 the following morning, Jimmy Everett had emailed me with a ballpark figure. We exchanged emails, working out the details on how many trucks, men, and what services I needed done (for example, I didn't need to have the stump ground). Mr. Everett was apologetic, noting that the travel costs could be elevated because I live so far from his place of business. The two-man team arrived early Saturday morning (given the long drive), and talked with me in detail about what I wanted done. All I can say is that they did the job far better than I'd expected. They cut, loaded, and removed the tree sections with surgical precision. I'd assumed that there would be incidental further damage to the garden or to the smaller trees which had been struck by the fallen oak, just from sawing and from running equipment through a constrained area, but there was none. Mr. Everett's final bill was about 1/3 what I'd expected to pay (and I would've been satisfied with the original ballpark figure). The job was fast, expertly done, and even if it should cost more in transportation to have Everett Tree Service come out in the future than it would to hire a closer company, I will continue to use them. I cannot praise them highly enough for their responsiveness, job performance, or affordability.

On two separate occasions, Everette provided tree service. We trusted their judgment about what trees to save and what trees needed to be removed. We were impressed by their diagnosis of trees that may be diseased and need to be removed. It was clear to us that Everette cares for the environment. On one occasion, they removed several trees that had damaged our deck as a result of a storm. On another occasion after a winter storm, they removed a tree that was leaning against our roof; fortunately, the roof was not damaged. Everette removed the trees and cleaned up the debris. We highly recommend Everett to anyone who is concerned about tree preservation and the environment.

Jimmy came just a day after I called. He & his crew took care of the tree and removed it completely from the building. I asked that the tree be placed at the edge of the woods, so there was no chipping or hauling involved. They used their brand-new Bobcat to do the moving. It's an amazing machine, and I could tell that Jimmy was having fun using it. When they left, I could hardly tell they had been there, except for the missing tree.

After receiving a few quotes to have several shrubs and a few trees removed, we decided to go with Everett Tree Service based on their competitive pricing and a good feel for the initial relationship. When ready to schedule the work, an appointment was made for approximately 3-4 weeks later. They took care of getting the lines (electrical, cable, gas, etc.) marked; and on the date of service, an entire crew showed up (on time). One of the crew, presumably a lead worker, walked the property with me to confirm the plants to be removed. Over the course of a few hours, Everett's crew swarmed our property and took down and removed everything we discussed and were quoted for. In addition, they removed another small tree that we requested be removed that was not in our original quote. The biggest project was the removal of a large tree in our backyard. The tree had to be cut down in pieces as there was no room for the entire tree to fall. While I did not observe much of the work directly, the tree was removed without incident and with no damage to our property or house. The workers were professional, conscientious, and moved swiftly. They certainly appeared to be well-coordinated and the project was completed in about 4-5 hours. After the shrubs and plants were removed, the stump grinder unit arrived. They recalled working on our neighbor's property recently (which was a nice touch to know that they remember customers and some projects). He also confirmed the work to be done, explained what he would do as well as noted one or two areas he would not be able to reach with his equipment. The crews did a nice job tidying up after the work. The removal of the trees, bushes, and stumps looked pretty messy--but they pushed dirt back into beds, used a blower to clean off pathways, and essentially left our property looking clean despite the messy work. Overall, we're quite pleased with the service. We have not yet received the invoice (They do not request payment until you are fully satisfied); but assuming all goes well in paying for the service, we'll definitely be using Everett Tree Service again for additional needs.

The person for the free estimate was on time and gave an accurate estimate of time required and what they would do. Good commincation by email.

I never write reviews but I feel compelled to in this instance. Excellent experience all around. Professional, punctual, experienced and efficient. I had folks tell me I had a 3 day job. Jimmy and his crew (also extremely professional and nice) knocked out the entire job in 1 and 1/2 days. I also ended up adding some extra work for the guys while they were there, and Jimmy was very fair about the pricing on the entire job, including the added labor. Don't hesitate to call Jimmy for your job.

In a word, outstanding. They showed up at the agreed-upon time but Jimmy and I both agreed to re-schedule because of an impending thunderstorm. When they returned, our 50-foot pine tree was cut down, sawed into pieces and loaded onto trucks in well under an hour. He cut the stump out and one of his men trimmed a tall, gangly cedar for us. These guys came ready to rumble, with a large crane, bobcat, several trucks and a stump grinder. The crew members were obviously experienced and made short work of our job. I have absolutely no complaints about scheduling, workmanship or clean-up and will use them again. I've already recommended him to several neighbors.

I've had trees removed from my yard before both from professional companies and questionable ones. I wanted my front yard cleared of pine trees because I'm tired of them hitting my house in ice storms. There were 2 hanging over the end of my house. After checking Angie'slist reviews, I checked out BBB ratings of Everett and 3 other companies, 2 of which I'd used before. I contacted them for quotes in September and Andrew set up an appointment and came out right away. He quoted $5100 and said they'd be using a crane. The 2 other professional companies came in higher. I got Everett to have their insurance company send me a copy of their policy. It's not easy to talk to someone on the phone but I get an email or text response back pretty quickly. I then checked on the insurance commission's website to verify they had both liability and workmen's compensaton insurance. So- lowest price of the professional companies, best reviews, insurance was good, AND Angieslist discount. Yes, I want them! So I let them know and they said they'd get back to me with a date. We had a communication problem for weeks (my voicemail box was full or I got dead air when they called me). I had told Jimmy my only priority was to get the trees down before ice threatened them. We finally connected and, because it had been so long, he made me his priority customer and came right out. With bad weather, he only got 2/3 done but it was a fine, well executed job. The ground was too soft for him to move the crane. I gave him permission to drive the crane into the front (natural area) yard when the ground was dry. He then returned about 10 days later to finish because there was an ice/snow storm forecast. They used a lot of fiberglass mats to support the crane and keep it from tearing up my yard. I agreed that some ruts in the storm drain area would be acceptable. Jimmy is the crane operator and he does an excellent job. The bobcat guy and the guy that cuts the trees down all work well in synch with Jimmy. The skinny trees they cut off at the ground; the larger ones they took in two pieces. The stumps were ground with a huge stump grinder and there were no ruts in the yard even though it rained while they were working. Jimmy's equipment looked well cared for, not all beat up like some companies. Jimmy said his crane is designed for cutting trees down, unlike many other tree services. We only talked to Jimmy and Andrew and they were both pleasant to talk with. Jimmy honored the discount.

Arrived exactly as scheduled. Everyone in the crew was very professional and experienced. They set up a large crane using mats to protect the driveway. Each tree that could be reached by the crane was cut at the ground, lifted and laid down in the driveway where it was cut into pieces, loaded and hauled away. A few trees were too far for the crane to reach and were removed in pieces, gently lowering each piece to the ground and removed. Each stump was ground well below grade. Extreme care was used with the trees that were close to the house. Mats were used in the few placed where it was necessary for the Bobcat to drive over the lawn. Absolutely no damage to anything, cleanup was exceptional, couldn't tell they were even here except for the missing trees! I highly recommend this business!

Huge crane, huge tree trunks slowly moving through the air. Neighbors enraptured by the show. It was likeballet watching these guys. They team is a well-oiled machine and obviously experienced.
Description of Work: Jimmy and his crew removed about 70 trees,: pines, sweet gums, a few poplars - some huge. They ground stumps. They were short-handed, yet they did this job in two half days.

Jimmy Everette showed up in force with a good size crew and quickly began the work. While taking down large pines is not a problem for them, it was complicated because the trees were behind the house and there was limited access. They first cleared a temporary path through much of the natural area of my yard for the equipment to get through. Where there was grass they put down large cover pads to lessen the impact to the ground from being driven over repeatedly by the Bobcats. They did a great job of bring down these 80+ foot pines. They cut them into long longs and carried them out to a log truck using the Bobcats. I let them chip the rest (limbs and small pieces of tree trunk) into the wooded area behind the yard. They did a superb job of minimizing the damage to the trees I wanted to keep such as my dogwoods. They were an amazing crew to watch as it was well choreographed. Jimmy was friendly and a pleasure to work with. I'm sure I will have him come back to continue with more tree removals in the future.
