I bought the deal on Friday, 12/6. I was expecting contact from them within 2 days, as the deal guaranteed. I did not hear anything; Angie's List sent me a message on Wednesday to ask how it was going on Wednesday, 12/11. I said that I had heard nothing from them, so I guess Angie's List contacted them; they sent me a message to say "sorry about the delay but we had a very high volume of calls, therefore due to the high call volume, I will be in touch in the next few days to setup an appt". I heard nothing from them. I eventually called them on Tuesday the 17th (about a week later) in order to set something up. They said, "sorry, we had a lot of calls...we're finalizing a schedule now and we'll call you back tonight or tomorrow. We're hoping to be able to come by and do the work this weekend." They didn't call back that night, or the next day, and the weekend came and went. At this point, they've explicitly guaranteed to contact me three times and failed to do so. I don't trust them to keep their word, and don't want them to do any work on my house.

I purchased my order for the fall gutter cleaning big deal on 12/6 and listed 2 dates that worked well with my schedule (12/7 and 12/13). I didn't hear back from Adam until 12/11 via angieslist message board. He mentioned high volume as an excuse for not contacting me earlier which I can understand. The following day I sent him a messages giving him additional dates (12/13 and 12/20). I heard nothing back from him. I called twice the following week before leaving a voicemail. He did not return my call. Finally I got him on the phone and he said he would be in Durham on 12/23. He did not show up. I called again that afternoon and left a voicemail and have not heard back. I cannot comment on the services provided, as there were none, but all you need to clean my gutters is a 24 foot ladder and a pair of gloves. This deal is more about timely service and follow through, and I regret to inform you that Adam and E&J roofing miss the mark.

Service provider was unresponsive and I cancelled the purchase.

After not contacting me after my purchase of a gutter cleaning service, I received a check in from Angie's List as to my experience - I communicated my issue they apparently reached out to the provided. I got a message via Angie's List that he'd been really busy and would call me in a couple of days. He gave me his phone number as well. After several days and no contact, I called him, got voicemail and I left a message asking him to call me, no response. Called again, left another message, no response. Ordered on 12/11, it's 12/26 and I have not been able to get the service scheduled - cancelling purchase and will get someone else to do the work

Hired E & J because of an Angie's List special offer for Gutter Cleaning. It took a while to schedule the cleaning, because they were not prepared to handle the volume of specials they sold. They did an ok job when they finally got to me. They used leaf blowers to blow leaves off the roof and left the where they fell. Even though the price was reasonable, I will go back yo using Four Seasons Home Exteriors for all my future gutter cleaning.

I can say at this time that it went very well!!!!!

Purchased the big deal; vendor never contacted me so when Angie's list sent an email follow up to ask, I let them know; received an email from the vendor through Angie's list advising that they were overwhelmed with business and would reach out to me in a day or two to schedule but never did. I have no confidence in the vendor to show up or do what they say they will do since they've failed twice already from the outset in doing that. Very poor service, would never recommend them. Recently joined Angie's list & this was my first purchase...not a good first impression to say the least. Thank you.

On December 6th, I purchased the Big Deal from E&J Roofing for Fall Gutter Cleaning. I did not want the work done till December 20th and noted that when I provided my requested schedule dates. I did not receive a call or message from the vendor and left a voice mail 2 days after my purchase. I then received an email from Angie's List asking if the vendor reached out to me. I responded no and the next day I received a message from the vendor saying he would contact me in a few days to schedule the work. I did not and have not receive a call, email, or message and I need the work to be done. At this point, I would like a refund so I can find another vendor to perform the work.

I bought the $149.00 deal for rooftop maintenance. I had to make several phone calls to get a confirmed date and time. It took two months to finally set a date because they were moving, busy etc. When we finally agreed upon a date,I was called to see if they could come on an earlier date and I went ahead and moved to the new date and time. On that day they were scheduled to come from 10:00-11:00am and they did not show up as scheduled. I waited until 11:50am before I called them. Yes, I had to call them. I was told that they were busy. They said they would come that same day at 3:30, which they did. They replaced a few shingles and blew pine straw off of my roof. They told me that I needed to replace a couple of caps around the exhaust pipes. They were worn and so I agreed to have them changed out for an additional $100.00. They did not clean up the materials that were discarded in my yard. I felt very disappointed in the whole experience.They are very disorganized and unprofessional.

I called them twice leaving messages both times. They never returned my calls.

It took a couple of calls that were not returned (the owner said he had been out of town) before I was able to schedule the work. They did a good job and determined the cause of the leak. Then it took a few days beyond what I was told to get the estimate. Because of the cost involved in the roof repair I have been gathering a couple of additional estimates, but I may use E&J Roofing to do the job.

They came out. Took pictures of my roof of the three spots I was concerned about because of observations by my normal gutter cleaning service. They told me I needed a new roof and give me an estimate. I told them I could not afford that and asked what it would take to buy me some time as at this time there was no leaking, etc. They said they would send me because I insisted before agreeing a written estimate. Two weeks, nada. I contacted two other companies who came out and essentially told me simply sealing the areas would buy me the time I needed and one of the spots was probably not a roofing problem but a gutter siding leak. I called this company back, they finally a week before the deal ended sent me a quote of 1,700 for fixing the spots which another company fixed for 250.00. When talking to me initially they said that they could not be sure because they may have to fix the boards below it and so really did not know how much it would be. The other companies claimed that was inaccurate just to buy time and no one should connect new boards to old ones anyway and one of the problem area was a sliding problem anyway. I feel I paid 149.99 for an estimate which all companies give free. I am afraid to find with a starting estimate of 1,7000 simply for a "fix" to have this people back. No I would not recommend or use them.

It was fine. We had a little trouble connecting but that was no big deal. They came out and looked at the whole roof. They were polite, very nice, and professional. They found one spot and came back the next day to fix it for me. They said the rest of our roof was in great shape.

They were awesome! We were unable to pay for a complete roof replacement so they recommended to repair/replace only the areas that were in most need - which turned out to be half of our roof! They did this during a VERY rainy period so they had to stop and return to complete their work (always put a tarp up to prevent any drainage into our home). They assisted us in keeping the payment down while assuring that our roof was done safely and did not have any leaks. We will use them to repair the remainder of our roof when we have the money. They were always courteous and cleaned up after their work.

Repaired flashing on stone fireplace and one other chimney. Repaired flashing on another part of roof. It was a little expensive, but if the job holds up and my living room is dry then fine.

E&J were early for the appointment. Provided an expectation of roof life and replaced a few shingles...provided a report to give to the person buying the home. I would definitely use them again!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. I didn't think we got our money's worth. All the discounts applied if they did the work so I wasn't too happy with that. He said he would include the discount on the roof when he did the work. They were fine but it seemed a little misleading to us. We thought he was going to come out and do x amount of work on the roof and he basically said here was all the work we needed done and if we signed up, he would deduct the $150. It was an expensive roof inspection. He came out pretty quickly but it wasn't what we thought it was. It was basically a discount for future work. We thought he would do work and then make recommendations. He didn't actually do any repairs; he just said what he would do and what repairs we needed. He was focused on getting a reroof job.

I am very pleased with the service provided. Communication was instant via email as soon as I purchased the deal and a phone call followed the very next morning. Weather has not been super the last week and it seemed to rain whenever my appointment came around. Completely out of ones control and the owner kept in contact offering times as soon as the weather cleared. He even provided an option for Saturday and Sunday to perform the service ( missed due to rain). The owner and two workers arrived as promised as soon as the weather cleared and got to work immediately. I pointed out known problem areas and they went to work on the roof. All areas needing attention were addressed and they cleaned the gutters and downspouts as advertised. All debris was left with them as well! The team was knowledgeable, professional and explained everything they did as well as areas to watch for and potential future problems. Two known areas of issue were pointed out and they explained what would need to be done to repair them properly ( as opposed to the poor job done by the previous owner). An item to note is they went above and beyond and caught some items I never would have noticed or discovered. There was actually a root structure growing in one of my gutters/downspout that was so well hidden I would have never noticed it without disassembling the thing. They pulled it out completely and put it back together. To be honest I was curious about the mixed reviews I read. I can't speak for the rest of them but I had an excellent experience and the deal they offered could not be beat. I will be using them again for future roofing / gutter needs!

Arrived on time; clear professional assessment; outlined additional work needed and exact cost. Completed in timely and professional manner and cleaned up all debris left from storm from roof. Would recommend again.

The basic installation of the roof went Ok. The trouble came when I asked them to install a roof fan. They installed the fan and told me the unit was installed and working. . This included connecting it to the electricity. The fan did not go on and after hiring a electrician it was found that they did not connect the wiring, in fact, they left than open electrical wire exposed in the attic. When I called them about this and another issue of using my tarps to clean up the mess of removing the old roof I was told they would refund me $50.00 for the electrician and replace the tarp. I have not heard a word from them, after repeated calls. This was all done back in June. I had one other issue involving an over payment of $300.00 that was my fault. It took me over 3 weeks of very intense calls to get them to refund my money. This does make me wonder how well they did the installation of my roof. Since I am not a roofer.

He called at 8:30am to say he would not be able to make our 9:00am appointment. We rescheduled to 3:00pm and I moved around my own schedule so I would be available at that time. 3:00pm came and went; no one showed, no one called. I called them at 5:00pm and he said that he just finished with the job that was supposed to be right before our appointment. I worked around his schedule when there were other things I could have been doing. I won't be using them in the future.

Took a while to connect, and then the provider was late. Did call, had a flat tire, but still arrived later than expected. Overall though, excellend company and workmanship. We are very pleased and will use them again in the future!ed

Adam showed up with two other guys about ten minutes before our appointment, they went straight to work. The employees of E&J were courteous and finished In a timely matter they even replaced a few other boards than what we talked about and didn't charge any extra. They cleaned my gutters and replaced a section that was all beat up from a limb that fell over the summer they did an excellent job and would recommend them for any deck or gutter work

I purchased the Angies List big deal on Saturday and by that evening I had already received a call to schedule a visit for Monday. Very fast response! Julian from E&J arrived on Monday morning at the time we had arranged. He repaired and caulked nail pops on our roof and did an over all assessment and inspection of the roof to be sure that there were no other problems. Julian was very knowledgeable and did a very thorough inspection of our roof, even coming inside and going up into the attic space to inspect the interior side of the roof. He was happy to answer all my questions. I would definitely use E&J for future roofing needs.
