E & J were able to schedule an appointment with me for the very next day, which was great! I took the morning off work, and was told to expect them at 9am. They didn't show up until 9:45, however, and I had to call to see what was wrong. (I would give them an "A", if not for the tardiness.) They went straight to work, with one man working on the problem area where the leak originated, and the other man inspecting the rest of the roof. I would guess that they worked for almost an hour. I won't be able to tell if my leak has been fixed until after the next rainstorm, but I feel confident that adequate efforts went into resolving the issue.

There wasn't all that much, they went on the roof, fixed a few things, told me that I needed a new roof, gave me a quote.

I don't know how it turned out because I do not have my way to get on the roof. I supposed he did replace some missing shingles for me.I wasn't at home and even if I was home I don't know what he did because he was up there. He gave us a list of several options for the gutter which was pretty good and I like that part. I think they are okay but I don't have the evidence to recommend them.

It was fine. We had a little bit of confusion about what day they were going to come.

I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to come the very next day. They were on time, arrived at my house at noon as planned. I had them seal all the un-sealed nail heads on my shingles, seal up some hail damage spots in some of the shingles and remove any loose nails from my gutters (from when they built the house). I was worried that the nails I was finding were nails that had popped out of shingles and there were open nail holes up there but they didn't find any missing. They said most likely they were just part of the mess left by the original house construction as they found a bunch more in the gutters. My only complaint was that they only took about 15 minutes total on my roof. Wish they had spent a little more time up there for the money spent but overall I'm happy with it. That's pretty reasonable I guess for getting an actual roofing company to do the work.

E&J Roofing did a terrific job in replacing a new cedar shingle roof, something most roofers will not do due to the cost and complexity. Adam responded quickly to our need to get things done as the previous roofer was not able to complete the job. Adam jumped in and was able to source the materials very quickly. He was very reasonably priced, very professional, and down to earth in his approach. He initially had a roofer that was not getting the job done quicly enough to meet our deadlines. He brought in a number of new roofers that he had worked with previously that expedited the job with good quality. They were easy to work with, and put in extra hours to meet deadlines. They were also willing to work with us mid project on new flashing guidelines within our community. I would recommend Adam as a roofer for new or existing construction.

I do not feel confident that the roof was properly looked over. I had to push them a bit to look hard at the chimney area that was leaking. And when I asked about some moss on the roof they said I should get it removed. Not sure why they did not offer to do it. They did install a chimney cap, and I feel like I need to go up on the roof and make sure clearance is sufficient.

They were very professional. Gave excellent feedback about the overall condition of the roof and did not recommend any unnecessary repairs. We would definitely use them again.

I have the kind of gutters that do not require annual maintenance, but it had been 6 years since they were installed, and I thought it would be good to have them cleaned and checked. I'm glad I did! E & J did a great job. They found two pieces that were worn and needed replacing, which they did for a fair price. They also found several nail pops on my roof that they nailed back down and calked around. There was one place that looked suspicious around a dormer, so thy even came inside to check to make sure there wasn't a roofing problem.

After much communication, we arranged for a 2:15 visit. I indicated I would be coming from a meeting, and they said it wouldn't be a problem. When I got home at 2:05ish, they were already on the roof and set-up. The two employees were very nice and respectful. Because I didn't go up on the roof to check their work, I can't say for certain that they completed the items included in the deal. However, they were courteous and honest about the shape of my roof, and did not try at all to sell me anything. I asked for an estimate of what it would cost to replace the roof (it is 22 years old, but in okay shape) and the employee said he would email a quote. They were fast, efficient, and very friendly. If the price is right, I would definitely hire them in a few years to replace the roof.

Provided the services that were outlined in the $199 coupon deal. Called the day before service was scheduled and asked to come one day earlier. Servicemen were professional and courteous At the end of their visit, they reviewed w/ me their assessment of the roof and recommendation. It would have been helpful to have been given a written document with their summary, or perhaps a checklist of things they checked for and where they saw issues or had recommendations. I had a number of service folks there that day, and it was hard to focus on all of the information they were giving me.. I tried writing it down but was a bit overwhelmed. A followup phone call was provided to discuss further.

I received a quick response after leaving a message to schedule an appointment. They arrived on time and charge anymore than the Big Deal price, even though the square footage of my house would have warranted addition charges.

Purchased a Big Deal service August 17 with A-rated provider. Guarantee was to hear back from provider within 48 hours. Received email from provider 72 hours after purchase. Once. And not again. Sent emails and messages via Angie's List. Help Desk contacted provider and still no call or reply.

I was very satisfied with the work that he did. I noticed that some roofing shingles were loose, which meant I was going to have to contact a roofer. Found this deal on Angie's List...very timely. He repaired/replaced the loose shingles, did a maintenance check on the roof, showed me what was damaged and cleaned the gutters. He was here, working steadily for several hours...which, honestly, for the cost of the deal, I hadn't expected such a thorough job.

Timely arrival. Cleaned gutters as requested, but there was some debris residual left behind. Inspected roof (assessment was that we have hail damage and suggested insurance claim to repair/replace) - no repairs at this time. Overall, would use service again.

Showed up on time and did work as expected. No additional costs.

I bought Purchased "Big Deal": "149 for $300 of Roof Maintenance and Sealing", I called on a Tuesday or Wednesday to set it up and when I did he seemed a bit disappointed that that was the reason I called. We scheduled for the following Tuesday for what I thought was a morning appointment. I took off work and when 10:30 I called and he said there was an "emergency" and if I could reschedule. I said I'd taken off work and that was the only day that week I could do so. So he said he's try to get away. Never herad back then a couple of guys showed up at 4:30-4:45 that afternoon. They were very nice and seemed to do a thorough job. I asked about getting quotes for a couple of soft spots on the house and a new roof for our barn. They took measurements but I never got the quote. The above rating of Professionalism is a C for the guy on the phone and an A for the guys who came and did the work.

On 7/11 I purchased a Big Deal for "149 for $300 of Roof Maintenance and Sealing". I did this because 1) A few days earlier a plumber discovered that the seal around a pipe than went from my roof into my house was leaking. I needed this fixed, of course. Also, as my house was for sale 2) I wanted to be sure my roof was in good shape. I believed it was. So I figured for $149, I'd get the seal fixed and confirmation that the roof was in good repair. When I spoke with Adam at E & J Roofing, I told him I was anxious to get the seal fixed but he said it might not be included in the Big Deal. We chatted about this briefly, and unwisely perhaps, I decided to proceed, thinking that I did need the roof inspected and if fixing the seal was not in the Big Deal cost I would probably be given some discount. On 7/15, Julian and a helper came to do the work. In brief, Julian inspected the roof and said it was fine. He examined the seal around the pipe and said he could replace it. He also said a seal around another pipe that went through the roof need to be repaired or replaced. I told him to replace it. So he installed/replaced two "pipe boots." I talked to Julian about the price and he called Adam. The decision was to charge me $210 for installing the two pipe boots in addition to the $149 I had already paid for the Big Deal. I questioned this saying "but the Roof Maintenance and Sealing was a 5 minute look and doing nothing." Julian responded that he had done some minor this or that. I remained skeptical, thinking I would be more careful in the future. I received an email invoice for $210 for the installation of the two boots. Later, I asked for an email invoice for the Big Deal, spelling out exactly what had been done with respect to the $149 Roof Maintenance and Sealing. I received no response. At a total of $359 ($149 Big Deal & $210 two boots), it may have been a Big Deal for E & J Roofing, but I am not sure it was even a fair deal for me.

Well, i bought my second "Deal of the Day", but unlike the first, well, I'm sitting in the rain with my roof still leaking. E&J contacted me after i had to make contact with them. After finding my address, two workers showed up very late in the evening. Fine, at least thy were here. It was hot and I offered the guys some Gatorade and they showed me an easier way of climbing on to the roof. I explained where the water was coming from, at least I thought, and the guy~in~charge said he'd already been in the house, but would like to go see the attic again. We did, and he still couldn't see where the water was coming through. He went back out and got back n the roof - this time taking his caulking. He caulked the two areas he thought were leaking and we discussed a more permanent remedy - some sort of rubber matting going over the roof, etc. I asked a "ball park" figure for the rubber matting and the G-I-C said he'd have the owner e-mail me a quote, but he though it'd cost about $400 - $500. So, now my issue, here it is August 19, 2013, and I'm still waiting on a quote for work to be done. But, it won't be with these guys ... have to go to Angie for someone better.

E&J contacted me when they were in the area and came on time. They performed the requested work quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up after completing the work. The only concern I had was that they supervisor had his son with him during the work because of a babysitter problem. I was concerned about him running under the roofers as the were discarding the replaced shingles.

They came and did the work that day. They were prompt. I haven't seen any more water spots in the ceiling. I didn't compare their prices or get more estimates.

I've given all the details above.

Went well, but had trouble getting him to my house. We kept missing each other on the phone, and a conflict of schedules sometimes.

Service provider arrived on time and was very professional. He inspected the roof first and consulted with us before making repairs, showing us the damaged parts he thought should be replaced.

I felt it was kind of gimmicky and there was no way there was $300 worth of service. They were here 45 minutes and charged me extra $100 for something that was not excluded on the deal. They said it was $300 to nail a few shingles and caulk some areas and that is not worth the money, it is crazy to charge that much. It is not truthful to say they give you $300 for work when I doubt they even did $150 worth or work. They would never contact me directly and go through the Angies List message center, it felt kind of odd and sketchy. You can call me and talk to me instead of making me go out of my way and check those messages. They were right on time.
