DK Appliance Repair

DK Appliance Repair was very responsive to my request for service of my ice maker. They responded to the email within 24 hours, and set up an appointment for the next week. But the day of the appointment, after calling to let me know they were on the way they never showed up! No followup email, nothing. Very unprofessional, as I had to leave work and race home to meet them.

After another appliance repair service told me that my dishwasher could not be fixed, I was surprised because it is only 2 years old. I decided to get another opinion and called DK. The DK Appliance repairman told me immediately that the heating element and sprayer were broken. He replaced both and my dishwasher is as good as new. Good thing too, since I was really dreading spending hundreds of dollars on a new dishwasher when this one is pretty new. I'm very happy with DK Appliance Repair and will definitely use them again.

My fridge's drawer freezer started intermittently heating up (to the point of melting all the ice in the freezer's ice maker to water) and refreezing again, over and over. I was going to call DK based just on reviews here on AL, but I also asked co-workers if they had anyone to recommend, and without my mentioning who I was considering, a co-worker responded immediately that I should call DK. Kris was able to come out the day after I called and diagnosed initially that the fridge's control board had died. He didn't have that part, so he ordered it and came back two days later (on a Saturday!) to replace it. I paid their $65 visit/diagnosis fee on the first visit and $206 when he came back to replace the board. A couple of days later, I noticed that it was heating up again, but now both the fridge and freezer were failing in tandem. I called DK, and Kris was able to come back 2 days later. Apparently the heat from the initial board failure burned out a relay, which Kris replaced on the spot, and he then declined additional payment (and I tried!). My co-worker's recommendation was well-founded, and I'd absolutely call DK again for any appliance problems.

Kris was on time, courteous, and with a quiet, respectful focus on being efficient in solving the technical problem. We previously had another service firm try to fix this issue on two visits. Kris got it done in less than an hour.

The repairman diagnosed the problem as a control panel malfunction. He proceeded to take it apart and adjust and reset the controls. He pushed a button under the dishwasher and then put the panel back together again. It took 35-40 and it worked. He fixed the problem.

He came highly recommended. They were on time and quickly fixed my oven as I have opened it up in around 300 parts but he fixed it fast..

Called before coming, Quickly figured out problem and fixed machine. While he was there he noticed a small leak in the water pump bod, ordered the part and came back a few days later and replaced it for cost of the part since he did not have it with him when he arrived. Great people, friendly and reasonable cost.

It went really well. They were quick, courteous, and professional.

They fixed my issue and the technician fixed it well. I told themexactly what my symptoms were over the phone. The woman I spoke with one phone said something to the effect of "it can't be that". I felt that maybe she didn't believe I knew what I was talking about because I was a woman. We made an appointment and the technician didn't come out with the proper supplies for the job. We had to re-schedule another appointment which was difficult because I work. I had to take two days off of work. The technician who came out was knowledgeable and said that I was exactly right about the problem. I would say the technical part was 'A', but the return was a 'B'.

Kris quickly spotted the problem. Due to the age of the washer and cost to repair, he recommended buying a new one rather than having him repair the current dishwasher. I would definitely use again.

Chris was very professional. He arrived on time, and completed it in less than an hour.

It was a great experience. They were very responsive, often getting back to my email inquiries in less than an hour. They were prompt, up front and I thought very reasonably priced.

Tech checked freezer on Thursday afternoon to see why not making ice & determined the ice make needed replacing. Part was not in stock, so he ordered it the same day & said would call to schedule time to come back & install part as soon as it came in. Came back on Tuesday & installed part ,but later that night I realized it was not making ice. Called their office next morning & tech called me back in just a few minutes & I I told him the problem. He said he would come the next afternoon after I got off work to look at it. He arrived on time & had another tech with him. They worked for about an hour ,but finally located the problem & corrected it. Told me to call them the next morning if not working correctly ( it worked fine. Freezer working great now . I was told up front what the service fee was, I was not charged extra to come back out to install part or for coming back out the 3rd.time. Excellent people to work with, I will definitely use them again & will highly recommend them to my friends.

When I called to set up an appointment, the customer service representative spoke with the repairman on the phone about my washer. He informed me that the repair on my washer, because it was so old and because it was already leaking (thereby most likely it had been leaking and other parts would be rusted and break), it would be at least $300 to start repairing it. Hardly worth it on such an old machine. So, I bought a new one and saved hundreds of dollars on the repairs. You don't find very many repairmen who discourage performing a service because it might not be worth it for the customer!

It's been a mixed bag. DK repaired my dryer a few months ago. They rep[laced a circuit board. Same board needs repair again--not their fault. DK came out and agreed to replace the baord for labor costs which was good. However, it's now been five weeks and I haven't heard anything. I called a few weeks ago to ask and was told the board is out of stock but they'll let me know when it's here. So, two more weeks have passed and I've heard nothing. I'm sure this isn't is a profitable job for them but it seems communication has been less than responsive.

Assessed the problem quickly. The new part wasn't immediately available, so he had to come back after a couple of days to replace the fitting.

They were very friendly and professional, but they were unable to fix my dryer even after three tries. They try to make it convenient for you to be there, offering to call ahead earlier than their normal amount so you can get home. So I really liked their customer service approach. But each time the guy replaced a thermostat in my dryer, it would give off heat right then, but as soon as we ran a load of laundry it would quit giving heat. After the third try I decided to get a new dryer. I want to emphasize that they stood behind their work. I am sure they would have kept trying until they got it working, with no additional charge. But I can only go so long without a working dryer. Also, I feel like they should have gone to greater lengths to figure out what the underlying problem was, especially after the first repair failed.

They were up front about the costs. They came out and quickly determined the problem. They had to order part and come back about a week later. Very prompt and quick. Great Job!

Based on Angie's List favorable reviews, I called this company for the above small repair and was completely satisfied. I had the same favorable experiences dealing with the owners/repairer that others reported, ie full disclosure on pricing up front, punctuality on the first visit, and reasonable seeming quickness in ordering and returning to install the new part some days later. I don't recall the exact time lapse between the first and second visits, but I do not recall feeling it was inordinate, and I assume I was given an approximate return date which was met. I will use this company again.

They were on time. They checked the mother board and it wasn't that causing the problem. They found the bad part and had it with them to fix it right then. It was my best repair experience I've ever had. I've passed their name on to several of my friends.

Arrived promptly when scheduled. Friendly and helpful. Only one charge for the actual service visits despite several visits ($65), the rest was parts cost. Would definitely use them again.

I have used DK Repair in the past with excellent results. This time, my three-year old dishwasher started making a buzzing noise and left soapy water standing in bottom at end of cycle. I called DK Repair, agreed that Kris, repairman, would come out next afternoon, he called when he was in transit, arrived exactly when promised, ran some tests on DW, tried to fix the problem onsite but ultimately had to order a new part. In the meantime, I asked Kris if he could also look at the broken icemaker on my 20 year-old fridge. Kris was enthusiastic about looking at that also, pulled the fridge out by himself, and did a quick diagnosis. Prior to that, he shook the old icemaker and it sounded like it started filling with water. He agreed to let me know the price for the needed part if the icemaker did not continue to work, but magically, it has worked perfectly since that time. I fully expected to be charged an additional fee for that time, but Kris would not hear of it. Kris returned a couple days later to install replacement dishwasher part, again, received phone call that Kris was on his way, arrived exactly when promised, he replaced part quickly and left work area very clean. He explained what he did and showed me proof that problem was corrected. We will only use this company in the future for appliance repair. Kris is personable, knowledgeable and thorough.

Day 1: came in and assessed the issue. Day 2: came back with the part and installed it.
