DK Appliance Repair

A month or so ago our refrigerator stopped working. DK was the first to respond to my quote request and had someone come out that same afternoon. The repairman was able to diagnose and fix the problem in about 15 min. At that time I also asked him to check out the broken ice dispenser, which hadn't been working for quite some time. He also diagnosed that problem, but a new part was needed. That work was scheduled after the part came in and the repair was successful. A few days ago the flap on the ice dispenser stopped closing properly; once again, DK replied promptly to my request and the repairman came within a day and fixed the problem, no charge. DK has consistently been prompt, professional, and very good at communicating. If they say they will call or arrive in a certain time window, that's what happens. If for any reason they are running late, which only happened once by a few minutes, they communicate that, as well. We heartily recommend them and would definitely hire again.

It took 3 visits but he was able to repair everything needed.

You sent a plumber, it was already hooked up. We didnt need a plumber The problem was with the oven, it wouldn't heat up, we needed A new part

Kris at DK Appliance was the second repairman, after the first was unsatisfactory. I knew the heating element was out and the first guy replaced it. When there was still no heat the first guy and I didn't agree on lots of things. So I came to Angie's List, got several call-backs, and Kris arrived the next morning on Dec. 22. He called early and had me run the dishwasher an hour before arrival. He stayed 2 hours to confirm the control board needed replacing. Ordered the part and was going to come Christmas Eve. Local part place was closed the 24th, but I ordered directly from Whirlpool and Kris was still able to come. Friendly, professional, explained what was going on. His wife was awesome on the phone as well. If you see the cost listed below it doesn't include the part. Like I told him, whenever I call a repair person (probably 6 in 2018) I learn something: either something about the repair or which person not to call back. If needed, I would definitely call DK APPLIANCE again.

Came the day after we called. Did not have the parts needed, but ordered them and installed them the day the parts arrived from the factory. Refrigerator fully repaired.

Service went great. Would hire again.

Kris is knowledgeable and does very good work. We have used them before and will continue to do so in the future.

Excellent. On time, efficient, knew what he was doing. Fixed the problem.

By the time the tech left, the ice door was still not working, and we had to turn the water supply off to prevent a flood, because he had made it much worse. The service window was a half of a work day, and he wanted to come back out to finish the job. Unacceptable.

Slow responsiveness. I would use them again.

Kris called early and asked if he could come early, also. He immediately recognized the problem and set about clearing the ice build up. He said the condition was normal and nothing more was needed. He said the charge was $85 and that he would email the invoice later. I gave him a check for $85 but later when the invoice arrived it indicated the charge was $65, not $85. I didn't mind paying $85 because that is still less than other repairmen have charged just for evaluation of a problem but to dishonestly pocket a $20 tip is shady. I may call him in the future but he won't be my first choice.

He brought a part to repair the dish washer.

It was fine. I always think the price is too high but that’s part of the game. It wasn’t my favourite price but it was acceptable. He came right away. No problems. He showed up when he was supposed to.

I have used this servicer many times, but the work does not last. He repaired my dishwasher at least 3 times, but the repair to the top panel would not last. I did continue to use them however because of all the good reviews. However, the reason for this review is for a completely shabby job on my refrigerator, leading to a ruined hardwoord floor, and rudeness/unprofessionalism. Several months ago they completed a repair on my refrigerator's water lines, which were leaking. At the time of the review the repairman lost a few of the screws for the back panel, but said it would be fine without it as long as we didn't move the refrigerator around. Recently, I noticed that our hardwood floor near the fridge was warped, and discovered the at the refrigerator had been leaking for a long time, leading to water accumulating under the floor. I called DK appliance as they had done the previous repair, and scheduled a repair. On the day of the repair I took off from work and stayed home to await the repairman. When they called to say he was on his way, the assistant told me that I needed to move the refrigerator out myself so that he could do the repair. When I informed her that there was no way that I would be able to move it, and that is part of the job of a repairman, they said he refused to move it, and would not be coming. She was completely rude and unprofessional. I'm sorry I've wasted money on shabby repairs with them.

The repairmen was very clean and professional compared to other experiences I had in the past. I told him I didn't think the door seal was as tight as it used to be. He told me not to replace it. The seal was fine. I don't remember the exact amount I'd have to find it but it was reasonable. I would definitely call them again

My dryer was not working efficiently. I called D K appliance repair after reading all the good reviews. I was able to get same day appointment and Kris was on time. He diagnosed the problem immediately and changed the heating element right away. He was very professional and did an excellent job. I would definitely hire them again in the future.

This is the fourth time I've used DK Appliance for service in my home. I always get a rapid response and appointment date. Dawn, the office Manager, is very friendly and helpful. Kris is the lead technician and has always diagnosed the problems swiftly and usually repairs the problem on the spot, unless a unique part is needed. For this problem, I needed a new relay board because the relay switch was sticking in the "On" position. Kris showed me a temporary way to resolve the problem, and gave me the option to replace the part for a permanent fix. I chose to have the part replaced. The cost of the part was the same as I could get online, so I was not taken advantage of on parts pricing. I always come back to DK Appliance because I know I am going to get an honest diagnosis that I can trust and at a fair price.

My first impression was great- They were very responsive to scheduling my appointment and accommodating my schedule. The technician called 20 minutes prior to arrival, just as they said that they would do, and he arrived on time. He very quickly diagnosed the problem and told me that the motor for my dishwasher would need to be replaced. He told me that they would have to order the part and that the receptionist would call me in the next 30 minutes to give me a quote. 15 minutes later- she called, gave me the quote and processed the payment. Super! I was thrilled! She told me that the part could take 7 - 10 days to come in- no problem. About 7 days later she called to schedule the repair. The technician told me at the service call, the repair would take approximately 20 minutes. I had this in mind when scheduling my appointment. I schedule for later that week and she provided me a time frame between 12-3. I had an appointment at 3:45, but I figured that there would be sufficient time for the repair. At 2:55, I called the office- I hadn't heard anything. The receptionist told me that she would contact the technician and call me back- she called back quickly and told me that the technician was not finished with the job prior to mine and that he was also about 35 minutes away. UGH.... I took the afternoon off of work and I had an appointment.... She asked if someone else could let the technician in or we could reschedule. I was able to get my husband to come home and let him in. He did not show up until 4:00 and was also there for about a hour. I understand that scheduled can be hard to keep, but a three hour window should be enough if you are scheduling properly. I also was not too thrilled when the lights on my dishwasher kept flashing after the repair- they never did that before. I was able to Google it and fix the problem myself. All in all, the office staff really redeemed this experience for me. I believe her name is Dawn. She was extremely professional and did everything that she promised.

Fixed within 24 hours of first contact.

It went very well. They have diagnosed the broken one, ordered a new icemaker and installed it within a week. They were on time at both appointments, were working fast and efficiently. Their price was very reasonable. It was about half of the price Whirlpool had quoted me.

I would not recommend them. I called (through my home warranty) on Sunday at noon as my dryer would not work. When I didn't hear back by 10 am on Monday, I called them & left a message. They called me back at 10:30 to tell me the earliest they would come is Thursday. That's 4 days with wet clothes (I can't put them outside, it's been raining for weeks here). They only work 10am to 4 pm. So glad they have such a leisurely life. Most of us do not have that luxury or can be so casual about our business. Cancelled them & moving on. I'll let you know about the next one.

I was very impressed with this company. The service person was very professional and knowledgeable. He did a thorough inspection and asked if I wanted to proceed with replacing a part then or taking a wait and see attitude. He checked to give me a replacement price if I did have future issues. I would definitely call this company in the future.

My dishwasher control panel suddenly would not "power-up". After determining that power was reaching the dishwasher, I called DK Appliance Repair based on reviews and one previous experience with them. I scheduled the appointment and the technician arrived at the scheduled time. I explained the situation, and the technician fixed the problem in 10 minutes. My review is lukewarm because: 1) As I was getting ready to make payment, I was informed that they do not take credit cards. That's unusual and I would have expected the dispatcher to mention this when making the appointment. 2) They're paperless, and sent me the receipt via e-mail as a .png file (a graphical file) that did not include their name, address or phone number. I would expect such a file as a text or pdf file, and I would expect their contact information in the receipt. 3) After the technician left, I noticed there were 3 snips of wiring in the middle of the kitchen floor. As he only worked on the dishwasher for 10 minutes, I would expect better clean-up.

I called over the weekend and left a message about my Maytag dryer that was suddenly rattling and squeaking. I received a prompt callback on Monday morning and was scheduled for Tuesday anywhere from noon to 3. Chris, the tech, called 20 minutes before arriving at noon. He got immediately to work and had the dryer disassembled in minutes. While I was cleaning up accumulated lint inside the entire dryer (my request), he was taking the fan apart on my Sears oven and had that reassembled in no time. He also put on a bottom part of my downstairs fridge and instructed me how to order a new drawer for same fridge. The upstairs freezer was then fixed and by that time I was ready for him to reassemble the dryer. He did that promptly and replaced my dryer vent hose. Chris was very, very competent, efficient and polite. The cost was more than reasonable. I will definitely recommend DK Appliance & Repair.

We have a fancy refrigerator with a freezer on the bottom. The freezer has been leaking water onto the floor once or twice a week for several years. We had two service calls from "factory authorized" companies to no avail. One tech even said that it was a design flaw and was unfixable. We and a friend even tried to fix this annoyance a couple of times without results. Finally I got fed up and called the manufacturer who assured me that no recalls had been issued for this model--there was no design flaw. I then consulted AL and found DK Appliance. Several reviews mentioned that Kris had been successful where others had failed, so I decided to give DK a try. Kris arrived on time and called 15 minutes before arrival. He inspected the refrigerator, immediately diagnosed and fixed the problem. He explained how the problem had arisen, and assured me that it would not recur for at least 3 or 4 years--it was a common problem that many refrigerators develop from time to time. Problem resolved after 20 minutes of Kris's labor. Kris is now my go-to guy for any and all large appliance problems. Highly recommended.
