Fantastic courteous service by Jim and his staff. Went beyond scope of work to correct my mistakes when I tried to stain the deck myself. I highly recommend this company.

Excellent...and they worked in hot, hot July weather. Very knowledgeable and professional. We had gothen several estimates and they had the most knowledge of what was creating our problems. Price was fair. We were very pleased with the work they did.

Jim was everything you'd hope for in trusting someone with work on your home; prompt, professional, did high quality work, and was easy to work with throughout. He was responsive from our very first conversation, came out to look at the job and gave an estimate on the spot with a no-pressure approach that I appreciated. He also took the time to answer my questions and explain the process if we were to work together. After deciding to do so, he set some expectations up front around timing and sent reminders before the work was set to complete and communicated throughout the process. Total Deck Care of the Triangle recently completed a fairly large project on our house and we couldn’t be more please with how it turned out. Jim Ciao and his staff are extremely professional, friendly and always on time. Jim was always easy to get a hold of to answer questions. We had somewhat of a sticky situation with one of our neighbors, Jim was very accommodating and ensured that everyone was satisfied. We have a large deck. Jim and his crew worked around some nasty weather but did and excellent job making the deck look like new again. They were punctual, friendly and did an excellent job.

I was contacted by Jim immediately (within 24 hours) after the request for a quote through Angie's List. We discussed what the job would be and he arranged to come out and see the deck and provide an estimate the following week when it would work for my schedule. He showed up on time for the appointment and we discussed options and what work needed to be done. He provided an estimate verbally at that time and from his handy tablet simultaneously emailed me the estimate. Within a few days, my wife and I determined that Jim was the person we wanted to complete the job based on the estimate, the plan he provided, and our belief that Jim was a guy who would get it done the way he said (sadly that is not how many contractors do business these days). Based on weather and work he was completing for other clients prior to me, he estimated that he would be able to work the last week of the month. We agreed on the last Wednesday, which was about two weeks after the estimate. After receiving confirmation from his office on Monday, Jim and his associate showed up on Wednesday as promised and began the process of cleaning the deck using a cleaner and low pressure spray in order to save the deck from harm. He also used a stripping agent followed by a neutralizer that would inactivate the stripper when it was done and serve to brighten the wood. We then allowed the deck to sit and dry for a few days and Jim planned to return on Monday to finish up as long as the weather cooperated. We also looked at some stain board samples that Jim provided to choose a color for the new stain. They returned the following Monday morning as promised and began sanding the deck to ensure there were no rough patches. Once the deck was ready, Jim checked the weather to ensure rain wouldn't come within the next few hours and began staining the deck. They were thorough and efficient and completed the staining of the deck. He told me that as long as it didn't rain for the next two hours we were good to go (it waited to rain for a whole 2.5 hours). His assessment was correct as the deck stain was fine even with the rain. We were told to not walk on the deck for two days. We followed those instructions and waited. As promised, everything was fine with the staining and the deck was complete. I will add some pictures to the review as soon as I am able. The deck looks fantastic, which is a significant accomplishment given how dirty and beat up it was when he started. In short, Jim did a FANTASTIC job on our deck and we are really pleased with the results. The price was more than fair for the work that was performed. He showed up when he said he would show up and he did exactly what he said he would do. I will be using Jim and Total Deck Care of the Carolinas for all of my needs going forward, including maintenance on my current deck and for all my deck needs at the home we plan to build in the next few years. If you need maintenance on your deck, you only need to reach out to Jim and Total Deck Care. They will not disappoint!

Total Deck Care was reliable, prompt and professional. They came when they said they would to estimate (and we live out in the sticks so it was not an easy commute for them.) They did an excellent job on both the front and back deck porches and I'd definitely hire them again!!

Jim and the team at Total Deck Care did a fantastic job on my deck restoration project. I had a deck that was 3-4 years due for a weatherization and staining, and as a result was looking pretty rough and weathered as well as pretty splintery in many places. They were very prompt and easy to communicate with, showed up promptly when we agreed, and did everything from start to finish professionally and the deck looks as good as new. Very pleased. Strongly recommended. Worth every penny.

From beginning to end: great, no worries, no problems, no surprises,... just really great. This was a large project. Jim and his crew rose to the occasion. He arrived at the scheduled time, prepared the estimate, and explained it to me. I requested a copy of proof of insurance - it was promptly sent. Kevin and his assistant were friendly, answered my questions, briefed me upon arrival of the work to take place each day, and showed me the work before they left. There were concerns due to weather issues but all of us were patient. It was obvious these guys had high standards and were concerned about the final product being not only acceptable to me but to them also. I am very satisfied with the entire process.

Jim Ciel and his helper arrived on time, were professional and very courteous and friendly, and did an awesome job. They went way beyond duty -- climbed up ladders to hand-remove leaves and pine straw from stubborn areas behind gutters, and cleaned up impeccably. They have an excellent work ethic and pride in workmanship. Five stars!

I was very pleased & impressed with the work performed. The crew was excellent!! The fence was very difficult and it took them about 12 hours. It was very hot but their quality of work from beginning to end was excellent! They gave me good advice on the stain and I am so happy with the outcome. It is a family owned business and they made sure all was done right! I will use them again and recommend them to anyone. They were not the cheapest nor the highest, but from the time they came out to do the estimate I knew they cared about doing quality work.

Excellent work for a fraction of the other quotes. It took them a while to schedule it, but most of that was due to poor weather. They worked very hard to salvage wood where possible vs outright replacement and took care to explain my choices based on their extensive experience.

Price was extremely good by comparison to other quotes. Totally flexible on schedule and worked with me and the weather. Went above and beyond in service, accommodating my schedule around travel plans. I am a DIY guy but at this price and this level of service, I will use this team every year to keep my deck looking its best!

Total Deck Care of the Triangle just completed power washing my deck and re-staining it. I had called them just two weeks ago and the owner, Jim Ciao, took my call. He told me he would be out to see me on Thursday at 4:00 PM and he arrived as promised. He quoted me a very reasonable price and using his Ipad he emailed me a contract. I contracted to have the work done, with the first stage of power washing at 12 noon the following Monday. Again, he arrived on schedule and did a very thorough job of cleaning the dirt and mildew from my deck. We waited until Friday to allow the deck wood to completely dry. Jim arrived at 8:30 AM on Friday, as promised, and he and his helper hand brushed the stain taking care not to get any stain on my brick siding. I have been completed satisfied with the quality of the work, the attention to details, responsiveness, and the adherence to the promised scheduling of the work. I will use Total Deck Care for future jobs and I will be recommending this company to my friends and neighbors.

They worked with me to get it done when I needed. Showed up and time and did a great job. Would highly recommend them.

Crew did a good job on cleaning and staining. Deck looked great after job was completed. The wrap up left something to be desired. In particular, the crew took down 4 large outdoor blinds on the deck sides in preparation for cleaning and staining but put them back up incorrectly so that they no longer raise or lower like they were designed to do, also, they did not put deck furniture back on deck after staining was done, further, a gasket between the steel pole and glass surface on the center of the glass table was lost during their move of it off deck, and never found.

Total Deck Care did a great job. Both the house and the windows look great. The personnel were very professional and did an excellect job. I am very pleased with their service.
