I was searching for a company that would install custom blinds on my screen porch. This company has many great ratings on Angies List, and that is why I chose them. I wrote a description of what we needed to have done on their website contact page. This was done on 3/16/13. When I did not receive a response to this request, I called the business phone number on 3/25/13 and left a voice mail with the same request, asking if someone would get back to me to schedule a consult. I never received a call in response to my voice mail request. I moved on. It is possible that this company does not supply blinds suitable for a screen porch. However, if that is the case, a return phone call telling me that would have been appreciated. It is also possible that they did not receive either one of my messages, although that is doubtful. I have since found a responsive company on Angies List, and the blinds are on order.

We would highly recommend Carolina Blind Crafters. Heather, Ben and Ken were excellent to work with through the entire process. We decided to add a shutter to one more window and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. We selected them due to references on Angie's List and are pleased to provide another glowing reference for them.

We took a quote from Carolina Blind Crafters and Budget Blinds. The price offered by Carolina Blind Crafters was better. Heather came and gave us an estimate in a very professional and timely manner. She worked with our needs and budget, and recommended a product that we are very happy with. Ben came to install the blinds and completed the entire task in record time! We would highly recommend them for any windows blinds related jobs.

Heather from Carolina Blind Crafters came out to give us an estimate on roman shades in our living room. She was punctual, professional, and very easy to work with. It was easier to get them out to work on the estimate during regular business hours, instead of nights and/or weekends (which is easier for my wife and I since we both work). We ultimately didn't use them because we didn't want to spend quite that much money on window treatments.

Saw good reviews on Angie's List. Got multiple quotes from most of the good ones on AL. The quote from CBC was the best and reasonable for the quality of product they provide (which is excellent). The designer (Heather) was awesome and Ben (the installer) was perfect. Accommodated all our requests. Would definitely do business with them again.

We requested Carolina Blnd-crafters to provide us estimate for our whole house ( 25 some windows). The salesperson was knowledgeable and easy to deal with. She came in, measured the windows and provided us options. We went over the catalog and found what we were looking for. The sales lady was an interior decorator and thus offered to help us pick the colors for the blinds. She did provide us her honest POV. It was not sales pitch to sell us at any cost and that made us feel better! We were satisfied with the price and service ( we wanted a local store who is responsive to our needs and also wanted to support our community business.. we were not looking for the absolute cheapest quote). Thus we ended up placing the order on the spot. Things only got better from there! Ben, the young entrepreneur/owner/installer called us when the order was in to schedule an install. I was very happy to hear that he owns the business and also does the install. That is the best kind of business one could support! We knew that he would take pride in his work as it was his calling card and we were not wrong. Ben came on the date of the appointment with the blinds and the hardware. He was pleasant, professional and was very skilled. He did the whole install with precision ( the measurements were good! The sunblockers we purchased fit so well that the room will be pitch dark during daytime when they are pulled down). Ben assured us that he stands behind his product 100% and to call him with anything whatsoever. A week or so into the install, we realized that one of the blinds that we selected ( a sheer, very pretty) was not really the color match we thought it would be. I looked nice in the sample book but ended up clashing with the wall color when the whole blind was hung. As it happened, Ben called us in a week just to follow up and find out if we had any issues ( Really!!). We passingly mentioned that we were having second thoughts about one blind. He said he would replace it at no charge. ( He did so without us asking) and that he would swing by with the sample book. He did come back in a coupe of days, we looked at alternatives, there was no good color to be had to we decided to stay conservative and replace that blind with a white Blind. Ben took that order and called us back in a week or so with schedule. He cam back and put the new blind on. I would very strongly recommend this company to anyone. It is local, they believe in service, their prices are competitive ( not the cheapest, but they seem to have very low overheads, that means you get better quality for the price) If/when we decide to upgrade or move, we will be calling Carolina blindcrafters again.

I looked on Angie's List for recommendations and got estimates from Carolina Blind Crafters, Budget Blinds and Nettle Creek. The original Carolina Blind Crafters price was $1911.26; Budget Blinds $1879.87; and Nettle Creek $2913.00. All 3 ladies that came to do estimates were competent and helpful, and got back to me pretty quickly (except Nettle Creek, which was a bit slower to follow up). One recommendation- the ladies' big sample cases made little scratches in my brand new dining room table, so I'd recommend putting down a table cloth before spreading out the cases. Nettle Creek sells Hunter Douglas and their samples were probably the nicest, but way more than we wanted to spend. I felt the samples from CBC were a bit nicer than the Budget Blinds samples, though I can't say anything specific to pinpoint why I liked the CBC products better. Though the initial Budget Blinds price was a bit less than CBC, the CBC estimate was including options (like top down/bottom up) that Budget Blinds wasn't always including. In addition, after I got the 3 estimates I asked CBC if they would honor the 5% off Angie's List coupon, which they said they would. So, we ended up paying less and getting more features with CBC. To be fair, the estimator from Budget Blinds had told me that she would match prices if other estimates came in lower, but since I liked CBC's products better I didn't try to pursue that. I paid half the price up front which got the order rolling, and someone came pretty quickly to measure. 2-3 weeks after that the order came in and we set up an install time. Everything got installed the first day except the blinds for the 3 windows high up in our entryway. The manufacturer sent power cords for the motors instead of the battery packs that we needed. The installer had to go back to the manufacturer and have them send the battery packs. Then when he came to install the battery packs, it turned out they had sent 2 instead of 3, so he had to go back to them again. This caused the installation process to drag out, but the problem seemed to be all with the manufacturer so I wasn't upset with CBC. However, the installer talked to his manager about it and they voluntarily gave us $150 off, without me even asking, which of course made me very happy. The installer himself was very nice, always called to give me his ETA, etc, was very courteous in our house, and so forth. We had just had the walls painted and I was worried that with him working on his ladder balanced against the wall the paint job would be messed up, but I couldn't tell that he'd even been there when he was done (except, of course, that the blinds looked great). I would use CBC again without hesitation, and would recommend them.

The work does on schedule and within budget. I would recommend Carolina Blind for a good value in window shutters.

Just relocated to the Raleigh area and purchased a new home with many windows. We called Carolina Blind Crafters to schedule a consultation before we closed on the home. Our sales person, Denise, met us at the house and discussed different window treatment options that fit our needs and budget. Denise was fantastic and had a great design sense! We ended up going with the cordless honeycomb shades with blackout fabric in the bedrooms and light filtering fabric in the living areas. They were able to schedule the install the day after we closed so we wouldn't have to stay in the house with nothing covering the windows. The installers showed up ontime and did a careful job. The shades turn around out perfectly and we love them! My husband and I were very pleased with their service and product. We will be referring them to our neighbors in the future.

Estimate was provided on the spot after general measurements had been taken. The installer later came back on the same day and took more precise measurements. The lead time from the placement of the order and the installation was about 2 weeks, and the actual installation was completed for the entire house in a single day. We were very happy with the final product. We had gotten multiple quotes, and Carolina Blind Crafters had not only the most competitive price but also was a pleasure to work with from start to finish.

Their designer scheduled time and we met to discuss options, which was very helpful. A day or two later the installer came to do precise measurements to send to the factory. They had told us to expect a 4-6 week time frame for the manufacturing of the shutters. So, we were surprised when they called 2.5 weeks later to schedule the installation the following week. The installer showed up bright and early and worked into the early evening to complete the job stopping only to take lunch. I was amazed that they finished in one day considering they installed 2 triple wide, 3 double wide, and 5 single wide window sets, with one of the triple wide sets being quite large. We are really pleased with our new shutters.
