The technician was good and helpful in explaining all the basics of how to take care of the air conditioning unit. Everything was good until he told me that the capacitor seems worn out/ running out of juice and may fail soon.But as he has already opened the unit, the charge would be for just the part and if he has come again, it would be a lot more. Again it was my choice, he wasn't forcing anything. Just the price of the capacitor is $160. He seemed so trustworthy that I told him to go ahead and change it. only to find out later that they start from $10 and can go up.....but not like $160. I called him immediately(with in 5 mins of him leaving) and left a message, "please return the original part, I would like to keep it". No response. It took me a year to write this review....Angies list keep reminding me that haven't written one. I wanted to be fair and not write something in anger. I understand that I am still responsible for doing my own research, but the whole point of hiring the so called experts from a highly rated company is to not get ripped off. May be that's what we get for buying a special deal

The service went smoothly and the technician agreed to cap the gas line at no additional charge. I was very pleased.

Our heat wasn't working and it had just started getting to be cooler weather. The heat exchange was cracked so the unit needed to be replaced. I called several other companies but Air Experts came right out and the price was similar to another quote I'd gotten but the other company would not be able to install for at least a week later. We used Air Experts and they installed the unit the next day. They were very professional and neat and cleaned up well after themselves.

It all went very well and the problem diagnosed very soon and fixed. Great customer service in the office and at our house. Would recommend this company and would use them again.

In addition to a great lesson in how heat pumps work and educating me along the way, he reprogrammed thermostat, checked air movement, tested heat pump, added refridgerent to conditioner, to mention just a few. He also provided great advice for improving our setup. Was surprised by the relatively low bill for the work performed. Very impressed. Will definitely hire again. Thank you!

This was a big deal. I think they were the ones that I did not appreciate at all. I was supposed to get $50 worth of Freon coolant, but instead of that they said my air conditioner needed to be replaced and that it was too old to continue the way it was. They said instead of putting $50 of coolant in there they would like to suggest that we purchase $8,000 or $9,000 of new equipment and this and that. I just said we could not afford it right now, but I would talk about it with my husband. I know we called a friend in the business to find out if we needed new equipment. Our friend put the coolant in the air conditioner and it has been working fine now and it has been over a year. So I was not happy with them and I was mad that I did not get the $50 worth of coolant at that time because that would have been the thing that made it work. There was no benefit to them coming. They charged me something and I got nothing for it. They told me something that was not really accurate. It was not professional to say something that was not true. I thought they were just dishonest and I did not want anything to do with them. I would like to have my $50 worth of coolant.

It went well! Kyle was my technician and he was great! My window was 12-2 and he arrived right around 12:15. He fixed the one issue I knew we had and then found something else that needed to be repaired. He was able to drive back to Garner to pick up the parts, come back & make the repair all in the same day. It was a little more expensive then I was expecting, but I was pleased that we didn't need a new HVAC system. Kyle was very professional and explained everything to me, which was great. I appreciate it when technicians explain the problem and the solution. Thanks for being so helpful, Kyle!

The diagnostic was correct; however, they would not utilitze my existing 10yr Carrier parts warranty. I had the repair performed by another company.

New technician John A this time. Had a lot to compete with a previous one was excellent. He however did and excellent job, very informative and easy to communicate with. A great asset to Air Experts.

It went well. I received a prompt response to the diagnostic package purchased through Angie's list, and the service call was scheduled the following day. The technician seemed very proficient and appeared to do a thorough job of diagnosing the faulty heating unit and providing a detailed explanation and report of the issues found. Very pleased!

He was pretty good and explained all the issues with the system and the options to get it fixed.

I hired them to come out and provide me a second opinion on a previous recommendation to replace my old system. Because the type of Freon used is no longer inexpensive, it was more cost effective in the long run to purchase a new system. They matched my price from my previous estimate and set a date for installation. About a week later, they arrived on time and installed everything within about six hours. The installation went mostly smooth, the technicians were professional, and they tested the unit before leaving. The technicians discovered my new unit was too large for the pad that was already existing outside my house. At no charge, they obtained a new pad(even though it wasn't part of my original quote), installed it and completed the installation. They removed the old equipment as part of the work. No complaints. The new system works great and twice as efficiently as my old system.

Bill arrived on time. He was courteous, professional, and friendly. He performed the air duct cleaning quickly but thoroughly and we are very happy with the work that was done. He even went above and beyond and put some sealant around a duct that appears to have a leak. We look forward to using air experts in the future for other HVAC needs.

Bobby was knowledgeable about the system and Nest thermostat and could figure out that it was wiring that was off in heater in basement and rewire to fix. He had a lot of experience and was able to problem solve quick and also give tips on other issues and didn't try to sell me on extra things I didn't need like other providers have.

My furnace had been inoperative for a day, and the temperature in my house had dropped into the high 20's at night. I looked up a highly reviewed HVAC company, and called for a service call. The woman who took my phone call was professional, and helpful, and arranged for a technician to come to my home that morning. The service technician was an extremely nice person, and after crawling in my crawl space, and seeing the unit, came out, and told me it was rusted throughout, and I needed a new motor. I explained my funds were very limited because I was unemployed, and currently seeking employment. He was kind, and explained due to the rust, age, and condition the entire unit needed to be replaced, and would cost approximately $5-$8k. I said I wanted a bid, so he called a project manager to come out. The project manager came, and asked me to show him where the unit was. He said it would just be a few minutes. he knocked on my door, and sat down. He said "it" will be about $5000.00". I am unemployed, but highly educated, and said calmly "what is it?", his reply "the unit". I continued "what unit?" He said we carry several, and named a few, and said he would recommend a carrier. I asked "why". I was amazed that I had to pull his teeth to get information about a potential $5000.00 purchase. I told him I need specifics as I was going to reach out to my family for a loan, and they needed the information as much as I did( If I was not in such a time crunch I would have asked him to leave, and done business with another company) He seemed to finally get that I wasn't stupid, and actually may be able to buy a unit. He emailed the specs on Carrier units to me. He told me to call if I needed his assistance, and left. I felt he looked at me dressed in layers of clothes, sweatpants, sweat shirt, and decided before he walked into my house that I wasn't a buyer. I was in a suit the next morning headed to an interview, and wonder how he would have talked to me when I was dressed in a $600.00 suit. I got a green light from family members. The project manager was now very attentive, and moved into action to get a crew out the next morning, which I was grateful for. The installers were great guys, as were everyone I dealt with for the exception of the "project manager". I would never recommend this company. There are too many competitors who will treat people with the respect any human being deserves. I blame myself, for not contacting a competitor, but I didn't have the luxury of time, nor did I have time to thoroughly research HVAC units on Consumer guides etc. A big clue, if you have paid to be on Angie's list you someone who makes an effort to utilize quality providers, and products. As I said everyone was wonderful to work with except the project manager, and I am grateful I have a HVAC unit in my home. I found employment shortly thereafter, and have been employed in RTP since.

Excellent service as usual at affordable cost for services rendered - Home Warranty Company had sent a bunch of unprofessional incompetents who offered an estimate 3 times what A/E charged for repairs claimed needed as not covered under home warranty. When A/E tech reviewed the home warranty company representatives repair estimate A/E tech explained their inflated charges and why repairs were not needed - He also showed where repairs claimed to have been fixed were not (drainage pipes were not flushed as claimed and originally charged back to home warranty company) - A/E Waived diagnostic fee as I was long term customer. Highly Recommend.

It was not that good , but it was ok .

It went very well in my opinion. There was a small blockage in my unit causing it to overflow the aswervice fix the problem without trying to exaggerat the problem or cost. Very satisfied

Made an appointment to get an estimate on replacing old HVAC units in a house we were buying. I was told they would be at our inspection and give us an estimate. They cancelled the appointment the DAY BEFORE the inspection (saying they didn't give those type estimates) leaving us out in the cold :). I understand it was hot and they had a lot of work but they shouldn't have set up the appointment in the first place. Their loss, we installed 2 new HVAC units. Definitely wouldn't use again.

Great! Prompt, pleasant, did a great job. Solved the problem we had with uniformly heating and cooling all areas of the house. We are more than happy!

They were very responsive. The tech came out did his diagnosis and quickly determined it was a bad capacitor Offered to replace it for $140, which I agreed. He was done in about 5 minutes. I put a B on price because the part for the $140 repair costs about $10 at Home Depot. I realize I'm pay for time and expertise and not just parts. I still think the price could be better for a quick and cheap fix. Either way, I have used Air Experts before this, and I will use them again in the future.
