Description of Work: Cleaning and repair of Karastan rug. I've had 3 rugs cleaned by ACE. They do a good job. Not the best on communication.

Description of Work: Ace came to my house and picked up my sofa and took it back to their shop and wet cleaned it. It's been several months and I can't remember how much I paid. I used them many yrs ago for the same sofa (and oriental rug- actually, Karastan) with great results that time too. For some reason, I thought they were no longer doing upholstery cleaning so in the interim I have used companies like Stanley Steamer and others. This is a great company and although we mostly have hardwoods, I would use them for area rugs and Karastan cleaning in addition to upholstery. They are magicians with upholstery and manage to wet clean stuff that is supposed to be dry cleaned (according to mfg instructions). I have had disappointing experiences with Stanley Steamer (left a big ring on a chair- they had to come back and re-do- second time pretty good but not great). I also had a disappointing experience with some top-rated -on -Angies List company that claims to do organic or environmentally safe/friendly dry cleaning that consisted of sprinkling a powder on my Karastan (that turned out just OK) but on the sofa the powder sort of bleached out the fabric and did not clean it either. They also sent out just one person to move sofas and big pieces around to get at area rugs. Ace sends two people to pick up sofas, was very prompt and speedy with my cleaning. They've been in business a long time and can be trusted. They also did a good job cleaning some dining chair removable seat pads that my local dry cleaner didn't want to tackle. All in all, I think they are probably the best in town for both upholstery and carpet/rug cleaning.
