Total Yard Renovations

The contractor was so easy to work with and we enjoyed having the work completed. Mr. Olberding was responsive, fairly priced and had great ideas. We plan to have them back in the spring to do even more work, which is the ultimate indication of our happiness with their company. They even assisted us with leaf removal just simply to help out, which was greatly appreciated. They were prompt, courteous and professional in their work. We'd highly recommend this company to anyone, A++!

Overall it went well. the provider did a phenomenal job keeping me updated. We experienced an unusual amount of rain that delayed the work quite a bit from when we originally purchased it. However, I'm very pleased with the work and the look of the areas worked!

Very slow to make appointment. Contacted several times. Rain then reportedly interfered. Once they came the work was done well and quickly.

that morning and till this day I have not gotten a call. Very unprofessional. They have my money but I never got my service. I am going to cancel and ask for a refund. I would not use this company at all. Move on to the next one. Very disappointed.

It was medium, between a B and a C. They didn't communicate very well. They tried to charge me extra. I don't believe they really even delivered the amount of mulch they charged me for.

Dave and his guys were slow at first;' however, it was so totally hot. The guys were young and not sure what they were supposed to do. After my husband worked outside with them several times, showing them what to do they responded well. The second day Dave sent a third guy who was more knowledgible and they did much better and finished the job. They charged an additional hour for the extra time they required. In the end, we got a good job from them and were pleased with the outcome. They left everything neat and clean when they finished.

I had bought the big deal earlier this year. They contacted me to schedule a date. I told them I would contact them later with a date in the spring time once the flower beds were ready. I called them around Feb and asked to be scheduled for Apr 18 and got confirmation. A few days before 4/18, I called to confirm. I got a call back saying that they are running behind on other jobs due to rain so my job will be delayed. I understand the rain situation but if I scheduled 2 months in advance and if it is not raining on my date then at least complete my job and reschedule those that had rain on their days. It was rescheduled for 4/25. Got another call the day before that it will not be 4/25 either. So knowing that it was getting delayed and not wanting to wait for more weekends to go by, I agreed for it to be scheduled for 4/27. I tried to communicate with this provider through Angie's list app messages but didn't get responses for days so had to keep on calling them. They arrived on time. I showed the area that needed re-mulching. There was no way to measure the amount of mulch as they had a lot of it loaded on a large trailer and said that they measure by the depth of what is being installed. Anyway, they did install a 3 inch deep layer. I just wish there was a choice of mulch type because the one they installed looks much cheaper than what I had previously and in other beds. I will not go for a big deal on this type of stuff in the future. A provider should show preference of communication method. If they aren't going to respond to messages then it should be turned off for them so customers know that they have to call.

I've always considered having deep trench edging done around my trees & flowerbeds, but never seriously until I saw the deal on Angie's List, and I thought I'd go for it. The owner / assistant were always very responsive to my calls and e-mails. We were unable to work out a time when I could be at home to meet them, so I told them they were more than welcome to do it when I was at work, but that I'd mark off the area I wanted done. When I came home on the agreed date, it was all done to my satisfaction. In fact, there was even an area I didn't have marked off that they went ahead and did anyhow It wasn't that I never wanted that area done, just that I thought it would go beyond what was offered in the package deal, so I didn't even ask. It makes the job appear even better and more complete. Every time I go out to my yard and see what they did, I'm glad I decided to have it done.

It did not get completed. I came home from work early to meet with Dave on short notice on Wednesday (appointment was scheduled for Thursday) and he had left already. He came back to drop off mulch for a sample while I was home but never rang the doorbell. I was concerned about the quality of service if they did not have time to walk my property with me and also lack of communication. So I cancelled.

.After a long delay, finally had a date scheduled. Came out ( young girl, very pregnant) and a helper who stayed in truck. We walked around and then she instructed him on what to do. They had a trencher, but used mostly a shovel ( ground probably to hard) Both were polite, but both were dressed too casual, no uniforms or? Midway through the rains came, he continued to work, offered a rain coat, she stayed in truck, which was acceptable considering her condition. The rain mostly filled in what was trenched. They finished in the rain and asked if all ok, I said yes, but if the girl wasnt pregnant and the guy soaked I would have been upset with the work and suggested they return. I also asked if they did yard work and neither seemed interested in giving me a quote or know if they did such a thing. Ok, in the end, its no ones fault that it rained. My gut feeling is that the company was swamped with this deal and hired a couple of kids to go do the trenching. Win some, lose some

It was very easy to schedule with this company. They responded fast both via email and phone. The problem is that they no-showed TWICE. Even calling the day of to tell me they were running late, but still never showed. I LOVE to promote small local businesses, but I was really disappointed with this company. After they didn't show the first time and didn't bother to call me until after the scheduled date...I had to reschedule other work being done on my house that needed to happen after their service. The next scheduled appointment was also a no-show and this time I had to do the work b/c I didn't want to reschedule with my other contractor. I would not recommend this company. I hate having to write a bad review, but others should be aware. I was able to get my money back from Angie's List (great customer service!)

I was very impressed with the professionalism and quality of the work. Amun and his crew are top notch. He showed up on time with a crew of approx. 8 men. They got right to work and did a wonderful job. It was a very hot day and they worked for many hours. There was no slacking off, even when Amun left late in the day. The men continued to work hard, were efficient and very polite. We've had lots of service providers, landscapers, and mulch services done in the past, but have never seen the level of skill and courtesy that Amun and his team bring. Their price was comparable, but the quality of work and amount of mulch received is far superior. The mulch is at least 4 inches deep, as promised, and packed well. Throughout the day they inquired if we were satisfied, and upon completion took the time to ask us to inspect the work and let them know if there was anything they needed to address. They had cleaned up very well and the yard looked beautiful. Amun telephoned to make sure we were happy with the work, before his men left at dusk. When the job was complete, there was some mulch left on the truck that was mistaken as extra. The workers asked if we'd like them to leave it and then happily hauled it into our back yard as requested. This was not part of our original contract and we were very grateful. The next day, Amun informed us that the "extra" mulch had been meant for another job. He kindly apologized for the confusion and told us to keep it!! I haven't seen honorable business like this in years! I can't say enough kind words about this team and the overall experience. Hire these guys, you won't disappointed.

Very responsive, we called for a quote and in just one week the job was completed. One minor hiccup with some work not being done on that day, but they came back out quickly to finish. Very good people!

Point of contact very professional and suggested ways to spruce up yard. Performed services promptly and kept me informed along they way. The process was very easy for me and the yard looks great.

Dave and Neffer are very friendly. They came and did the estimate, and I hired them on the spot. Because of rain, they were not able to do the job until about a week later, but they finished in just a few hours. A crew of about 8 guys came to do the job. They got it done!!! They cleaned up after themselves. Yard was neat and tidy when they left.

Amun showed up right on time. He measured a section of my bed that needed mulch to give me an idea of how much area one yard would cover. My purchased deal covered 5 yards, and the measurements looked like an additional 4 would be required to cover the beds in my front yard. The price for the additional yards was reasonable. His crew got to work and had done everything, including clean-up, in about 45 minutes. When they left, there was mulch in my beds, and none anywhere else. Job looks great, and will definitely call them when the beds need another layer.

Nefer was very responsive and always called me back on a timely basis. He came out and gave us an estimate for edging and mulching our beds (approx. 1,700 sq. feet), as well as trimming back our monkey grass. After I let him know that we did want to use his services, he and his team were out at our house within a few days to complete the job. They were very friendly, professional and did an amazing job. Our yard looks so much better now. They used a high-quality mulch and laid it down very thick, probably 3 to 4 inches. They did a very neat and clean job. We've had numerous compliments on our yard and many of our neighbors have decided to use them as well. We were extremely pleased and will use them again. Highly recommended!

My husband and I received an estimate promptly upon making initial contact. They worked with our schedule and completed the job quickly while performing quality work. Upon completion of the job, the owner did a walk around with my husband and me to make certain the job was done to our liking. My husband and I are extremely pleased with the transformation in our backyard. We already have a future job in mind and look forward to Total Yard doing that job.

They did a great job laying over 30 yards of mulch and I thought the price was reasonable. We definitely got what we paid for and I would use them in the future for mulch.
