The technician was unable to make it at the appointed time because of a backlog of work. He called to let us know. When he arrived, he had the dishwasher fixed in less than 10 minutes and refused payment for the work. He apologized for being late and was thankful we were not upset with him. Service was so good we immediately recommended 123 Appliance Repair to our friends.

First went to web site for estimate. Couldn't get to next screen. Called phone number. Return call was received within 10-15 minutes for next day service, a Saturday. Arrived right on time. James was very professional, personable, and efficient. He had researched the error message and had the appropriate parts with him on the truck. Repair was made within the hour of arrival. Very pleased with service and have already referred family to 123 Appliance Repair. Thanks Angie!

Monday, June 18th I found that my upright freezer was not working. I called 123 Appliance Repair to have someone come out and fix it. I called the number on their card and the person who answered the phone took my information and said the James would call me back. James called back within 5 minutes and we discussed the problem I was having. He suggested I try several things (which I already had) and asked for the brand and model number of the freezer. He said he if he called and ordered the part before 5pm, he would have it to install Tuesday afternoon.This afternoon (Tuesday) he called and said he was going to pick up the part and drive up to my house within the hour. He arrived in the estimated time. He checked the outlets to make sure they were working, then replaced the control panel on my freezer. Within 20 minutes the freezer was wrking again.James was prompt and courteous. We would hire him again.
Description of Work: Monday, June 18th I found that my upright freezer was not working. This appliance is under warranty, but when I called to schedule service I was told it would take two days for someone to come out and assess the appliance. My freezer is full! I called 123 Appliance Repair and received a quick response from James who tried to trouble-shoot the problem over the phone. He determined the problem was probably the control panel and said if he ordered the part before 5pm he could repair the freezer by the next afternoon.Today, he called about 1 hour before he arrived and said he was picking up the part. When he arrived James was professional and courteous. He changed the part out quickly and my food is frozen. He remembered my husband and myself from previous repair visits for my wahser and dryer.I would definitely use 123 Appliance Repair again.

My drier stopped working in the middle of a wash day. I had just finished a load and it wouldn't start the next time I tried. I called 123 Applicance. They were prompt in returning my call and prompt in setting an appointment between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Dean arrived I believe around 7 PMish which was timely. HOWEVER, he came in an unmarked vehicle, wore no uniform, nothing with a logo and carried no ID that tied him to 123 Electric. I definitely did not like that. I realize anybody can copy anything, but still think there should have been a company vehicle, uniform, or some other ID, preferably all three things. The only thing he had was a bill form with the company name on it. The only reason I let him in was because I was on the phone with a neighbor and kept the neighbor on the phone while he was there. Also my other neighbor is a policeman. I showed him the dryer, explained what happened. When he tried to turn it on, it actually worked. He said it made a whirring noise when you pushed the start button, which it did, and he said that was the motor and it would cost approximately $300 to fix it and he would get me a definite figure. He called the next day with a figure which was pretty much what he had said. I bought a new, bigger capacity one for $315.00. It cost $50 for him to push the button but of course they have to get paid for their travel time and $50 seems fair enough, but they should have told me up front. I didn't check but I assume all the other companies would charge too. I said I would use them again even though I did not rate them well and that's because they actually didn't do anything wrong, as far as I know. The reason for the"B" rating for overall and "D" for price categories is of course I wasn't very happy paying someone $50 to push a button and then having to buy a new dryer because the price for a motor was more than a whole new dryer which doesn't seem to be something I would term a "fair" price, but then I didn't check any other companies. Dean was quite pleasant and seemed pretty knowledgeable; the "B" rating for the unprofessionalism is not directed towards him in any way, but towards the company for allowing the service people to go out without a uniform, marked car, or any form of company ID, especially after typical business hours. Have nothing bad to say about the Company (except for the ID thing) and would consider them again as much as any other company at this point. As indicated, they were responsive, prompt and courteous but had to rate the categories as I saw them.

While I was out of town, my wife called one morning to tell me about the warm refrigerator. I read the reviews for this company, called the 1-800 and got a returned call from John within 15 minutes. John was going to be in my area that morning so he arrived within the appointed time, diagnosed the issue, called back to tell me about the issue, and then had it resolved within a few minutes. Overall, it was a very good experience.
Description of Work: Replaced the switch that activated the light inside the refrigerator. The switch got stuck and the light remained on while the door was closed.

Our experience mirrored what all the other reviewers mentioned about 123 Appliance Repair and James the technician. He was very punctual on calling once I told them what the issue was. He was able to schedule a time that fit my needs and came when he said that he would. He very quickly identified the problem (electrical) and discussed how to remedy. James was very professional, knowledgable and friendly. We will definetly use 123 Appliance Repair again.

I contacted 123 Appliance at ~9:00 am and spoke to the receptionist. He took down my information and said that James would be calling shortly. Within 15 minutes, he contacted me and said he could come by between 11 and 1pm that same day. He said he'd call within a half hour of his arrival and showed up at 12:00pm. He looked at my fridge and gave me an estimate, I approved that and he fixed it very quickly and now it's working just fine. James was very pleasant, professional, well-dressed and great to work with. I left my dogs outside and he really wanted to meet them before he left. The dogs loved him and he them. I like dog people and my dogs confirmed that he seemed like a good man to them ;o) Excellent service, James is a very professional, nice man and I was very happy with the service.
Description of Work: My refrigerator had stopped working. It was not cooling on either side (freezer and fridge). James fixed the problem within 15 minutes.

The washing machine stopped spinning. The repairman came to our house but he was 25 min. late. We were told he would be here between 11am and 1pm and that he would call 30 min. before arrival. We did get the 30 min. call but not until 12:45. He got here about 1:25. He repaired the machine in about 20 min.

I was really happy to see all of the great reviews on Angies List for 123 Appliance Repair. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing special. James and I played phone tag for a few days until I was able to schedule an appointment between 2-5 for Friday. James let me know he would be calling 30 minutes ahead of time to let me know to turn on the oven for him. I received his phone call at 5:15 letting me know he was 10-15 minutes away. At that point in time I let him know that I didn't think he was going to be showing up that day (I had just prepared to call him when he phoned) and he said he still was - he was just running behind. I can understand being behind schedule, but it would have been nice to know earlier. He took another 45 minutes to get to the house, showing up right around 6 o'clock. He looked at the oven for about 5 minutes, saying that the vent was venting incorrectly and we would need to contact a Whirlpool service technician to potentially get a new oven. He then informed my husband and I that we should maybe say that our oven was giving us burns to try and make sure that the Whirlpool technicians knew that we had a serious problem. He charged us $50 and left. All-in-all, it was a very disappointing service call.

Dear Member, We are truly sorry for the delay in getting to you. We have a window and even with that window there may be a delay depending on the schedule. James did call several times and as you said. Some major companies have a 7 day wait time but we try to come same day wherever possible. This problem has been in existence for several years and James thinks the stove is 5-6 hears old. What has begun to happen is that because the vent was not venting correctly the the other components are starting to malfunction as a result of the vent not venting correctly. The unit is hot to the touch. This is an issue for whirlpool corporate. They should have been the ones to call when the issue started happening a while back. James was trying to let you know that its an urgent safety issue. He put his hand on it and had to take it right back off. This is an issue for whirlpool corporate and the right thing for us to do is to notify you to contact them directly to make sure they rectify the problem immediately.

Called 123 Appliance and was told a tech would call me back in five minutes to set up a day/time to repair our oven. James Smith, our tech, contacted us less than five minutes later and we scheduled for the next day. James arrived on time and diagnosed our problem quickly; a bad igniter. He had the part on his truck & less than ten minutes later the problem was corrected & our oven works fine now. James was courteous & professional. The price charged was reasonable. We will definitely use them again!

I really appreciated the free estimate over the phone. I felt he was honest and fair with his advice and 123 prices were reasonable. He was on time and courteous. I would highly recommend 123 Appliance Repair.
Description of Work: Our 8-10 year old Kenmore Elite dishwasher started leaking. I called 123 after finding them on Angie's List and talked to James. He gave me a few options of what could be wrong with it and approximate repair costs. We decided to go ahead and have him give us an in person estimate, thinking in the long run it would be cheaper to fix something small than to have to buy a new dishwasher. James came the next day. It turned out to be a small repair, which we gladly had him fix.

I called 123 Appliance to repair my refrigerator. While the repairman was at the house, I asked if he also worked on disposals. He did and after examination, he told me I would need to replace it. I asked how long it would take and he had another one in the truck so it was very quick for the repairs.
Description of Work: The serviceman was very professional and punctual. He replaced a disposal and repaired a problem with the refrigerator. The company works evenings to accommodate folks who work during the day. It was a great experience.

From the time we called and during the actual repair, James was very professional and kind. He diagnosed the problem and was very knowledgeable. His uniform was clean, ironed, and starched. He did not try to upsale or persuade me to do additional repairs. My only complaint is that we were charged a trip charge in addition to labor. Overall, I would definitely recommend James for piece of mind and quality.

It was great. He was just very professional. I did some comparisons on the pricing and their's was good. They were here within the time frame they said they would be here and they gave me a call when they were on their way. They came in and they got out, which was why I used them a second time when my mother's refrigerator needed repairs. Both refrigerators are working fine now. They were really good and I really appreciated it.

I called James yesterday to schedule an appointment and he came out this afternoon as promised. I also appreciated the 30 minute call ahead since we were given a 1-5 timeframe for the appointment. The wires for the broiler fell behind the oven so it wasn't a simple task to complete. Fortunately my husband worked from home this afternoon because James required his help to slide the wall oven out onto a workbench. The whole process took about 30-45 minutes start to finish. I would definitely use 123 appliance repair again.

Our dishwasher was leaking. James came and assessed that a part was needed. He did not have it in his car. He arranged to come back in two days. The next day he showed up with the part. He put it in an left. I immediately ran the dishwasher, and it still was leaking. The next day James came back and realized the vent was clogged. Once he cleaned this out, the problem was fixed. I would give it a A-, because he was persistent and did in 3 visits find out what was wrong. James was polite and professional.Jame

Received a call from James within 30 minutes. He asked me about my problem, and asked for the make and model number. As soon as I gave him that information, he was immediately able to tell me that the problem wasn't with my dryer, it was a clogged vent. He then gave me the name and number of a company he trusts to clear out the vent. He was very nice and professional. Will definitely call them again when the need arises.

I have a side by side frig.-freezer. The freezer stopped working rather suddenly; I had no indication that it was going out. I called 123 Appliance Repair because of a good review on Angie's List. The serviceman came the next day, and was on time. He was very polite, and had a good idea what the problem was right away. He finished removing food from the freezer without complaint, and went to work. He explained what he had to do, and proceeded to solve the problem.I thought the trip charge was high, ($50) but I hadn't had any repairs done for a long time, so it was probably in normal range. Labor charge was $60, but again, this might be the norm. Overall, I was happy with the service, and glad to have my freezer back. I should mention that there was a $10 deduction on my bill, but I can't recall if it was a senior citizens discount, or for using Angies List.
Description of Work: The technician had to defrost the coils, which took a fair amount of time with him sitting on a stool with a hair dryer. After this was done, he replaced the control, which solved the problem.

They are terrific, knowledgeable, and reasonable. They show up when they say they will. They are clean and I’ve been impressed with them twice.
Description of Work: They replaced my ice maker. It wasn’t functioning; he put in a module and showed me what to do if it happened again. It wasn’t working when I came back from a NY trip. I called them back, the guy showed up and took it apart and said everything was working fine. Sometimes a laser light is blocked and the machine thinks it’s full. They gave me tips on packing the freezer to avoid this. They only charged me a service call.
