123 APPLIANCE REPAIR

It did not go well. True... Ron was on time, professional, a really nice guy and knowledgeable. I have no problem with Ron. I have a problem with 123 Appliance Repair charging me $50 for a service call after which I was basically told to call Sears. We checked the warranty and it appears it has expired. So this is not a warranty service which I understood that they don't do. Apparently I have a "sealed system" and 123 Appliance Repair does not work on those. This was not advertised. I was also informed that my Kenmore was made by LG however I had no way of knowing that. Ron said he knew by the model #. The person I spoke to when I scheduled the call and/or the tech that called me to gather additional information (who stated he had been in this profession for over 30 yrs) should have been able to tell me that they couldn't work on my refrigerator. I gave them the model # and a detailed description of what was going on. I told Ron of my concerns but understood his position so I paid him. I called 123 Appliance Repair afterwards but had to leave a message. I still have a "handicapped" refrigerator, will probably lose more frozen food to thaw and I'm $50 poorer. In addition I had to leave work to make it home for the service call only to have to schedule another call with another service provider. I want my $50 refunded. 8/23/2013 - Update I played phone tag with one of their reps this past week. Never able to speak with anyone directly. I called another company, Carolina Appliance Repair, and was given valuable (although not welcome) advice over the phone. Carolina Appliance Repair told me they wouldn't waste my money by coming out to the house. Based on the information I gave them they said it could cost up to $900 to repair my sealed system. They even gave me advice on the most reliable brands in case I wanted to purchase a new fridge. Considering the fact that they didn't want to just take my money I'll consider their recommendations along with other sources like Consumer Reports, etc. It's disgraceful that my $2500 Kenmore (French door/bottom freezer) only lasted 4 years. (Bring our manufacturing back!!) I'm still waiting to speak with 123 Appliance Repair. If they don't want to talk just refund my money. That's all I'm looking for. 10/16/2013 - Update I deposited their refund check for $50 on 9/25/2013 only to find it had bounced 2 days later. I was also charged a $10 fee for the check bouncing. This is no way to run a business. I would like 123 Appliance Repair to reimburse me for the $50 service call and $10 fee I had to pay for their bad check. If I am reimbursed within a reasonable time I will be glad to upgrade their rating.

123 Appliance did a great job repairing our refrigerator. They scheduled for the next day, were prompt / professional and completed the job within 30 minutes using a part they had on the truck.

The gentleman could not have been more courteous. He found that we did not have a leak but a over sudsing issue. When he could find no issues we thanked him for his assistance and he left. That night the leaking appeared again and we called him to tell him the issue had come up again. He returned the next day, told us what had occurred, how it occurred and how to stop it in the future. GREAT company and professionalism!

James is AWESOME! He came over to help us out the morning after I called and had our dishwasher good as new a lot quicker than any of the other places I called could. He was prompt and polite and I feel like he really went out of his way to be helpful. I would definitely recommend his services and would use them again in the future if needed. He did a great job.

I called right at 5pm with a washer that had stopped working. It had no power. Naturally I checked the breakers and none were tripped, but for safe measure I flipped the ones labeled for the washer and dryer. Still nothing so I called, thinking it was the washer. They returned my call within minutes. He suggested I try plugging a lamp into the outlet and sure enough, it didn't come on. It's not the washer at all but a mysterious electrical problem. I hooked the washer up to another outlet via an extension cord temporarily and I'm back in business. He saved me not only a service charge but embarrassment! Certainly earned my trust!

I think the only problem we had was with the responsiveness. I read the Angie's List reviews and most had great reports of the teams coming out within hours and saving the day. We called on Saturday around noon and the earliest appointment we could get was Monday between 3pm-7pm. Goodbye icecream and cold drinks. We resigned ourselves to it and said okay. Monday, I took off of work to be there, half hoping they might come early. They called around noon to confirm our "error code" and I said "yes, I'll be here." 3 o'clock came, then 4, then 5. I called at 5:30pm got the answering machine and left a message hoping they hadn't forgotten about us. Then 6, then 7. At 7pm my wife called and left a message. We ate dinner and they called about 7:30 said they were in a nearby town and on their way. 8pm came. 8:15pm they showed. The technician himself was a super nice guy who gave me the impression that he was a really hard worker. He checked out the freezer, took the parts out and confirmed the error code. He then told us how much it would cost, $215 and said they would give us the $10 off from Angie's List. (I had sent an Angie's list message asking "Where are you??" when we couldn't make phone contact. Note to self, "Angie's List emails get attention." The technician quickly replaced the part after we agreed on the price and was done before 9pm. He cleaned up and ensured that everything was back in place. Again, very nice and conscientious. Overall, I would like to give it an "A" for quality of service, but showing up over an hour late after a 4 hour window with melting frozen foods about to go was just too hard to get over.

VERY COURTEOUS. CAME WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD BE THERE, ORDERED THE PART BEFORE HE LEFT THE HOUSE AND HAD THE PART WITHIN 2 DAYS AND CAME OUT AFTER HOURS TO COMPLETE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS AS THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID NOT PUSH THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF DISHWASHER.

The person that came out was very good. He was friendly and very helpful.

With guests arriving in 48 hours - my GE refrigerator stopped doing it's job. Food was thawing in the freezer, ice cream was melting-I was in a panic. it was 5 minutes to five in the evening when I called. I was expecting the repairman to call the next morning since it was so close to 5pm. Imagine my surprise when he returned my call WITHIN FIVE MINUTES! After getting directions to my home, he assured me he would come and do the repair THAT EVENING. He arrived as promised, replaced a broken part (which he had on his truck), cleaned up the kitchen and freezer unit and was done IN LESS THAN AN HOUR ! He was polite, friendly, assured me I hadn't done anything wrong and charged me far less than I had anticipated (since it was an emergency and late evening). My guests arrived as scheduled with nary a clue of what had happened. I would GLADLY RECOMMEND this company to anyone.

I was VERY impressed with my first interaction with this company. I called and gave the details of my problem with my Kenmore Washer and I was told that a service technician will call me back shortly. Well 5 minutes later, James Smith (service technician) called me back. I was shocked that he called me back that fast. James was very professional and sensitive to my time constrants with work and commute to work from home and also understood my urgency for wanting my washer fixed real soon. Once he determined what the problem was I decided to wait and do research before making a decision to repair my washer. I called him the next day since I decided to repair my machine and he assured me that the part would come in the following day and then he scheduled me for the next morning. Once again, taking inconsideration my time and work schedule, he made me his 2nd stop for that day. It only took him about 20 minutes to fix it and now thank goodness, it is running as normal. I would definately use 123 Appliance Repair again for any appliance repairs I need in the future. Thanks James for the excellent customer service!

123 Appliance Repair did a little extra work for us that wasn't on the Big Deal. We had a washing machine that was leaking and he looked at that, as well. He did more than what we expected.

James replaced the door switch lock on my 2 year old Frigidaire Affinity front load washing machine on 6/15/13, the same day I called for service. He arrived on time and went straight to problem. His appearance and manner was professional. Two weeks later the washing machine started making noises again during the wash cycle. James was prompt in responding to my second call and long story short did a great job of diagnosing and making the needed repairs. This time the problem was a defective water pump. The new water pump failed on first use. James came back and replaced the water pump again. I took 2 things away from my experience... never buy another Frigidaire product and always call 123 Appliance Repair for great customer focused service.

Overall, I am pleased with the work that was done. When I set up the appointment, I was given a window of time when they would be out. On the day of the appointment, they called and asked if it was ok to come out early, so they get extra points for punctuality. The technician was very laid back and friendly and got right to work. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly, had the necessary parts with him to make the repair and had the oven up and running in no time. He didn't leave a mess behind and the only way you would know he had been there was that the oven worked again. Price wise, I give them 2 out of 3. The parts and labor costs were reasonable. I was not expecting to pay an $50 travel fee on top of the labor and parts, though. I did not ask up front when I booked the appointment, so I'll take responsibility for it, but it does seem excessive. If it was not for the travel fee on top of the parts and labor, I would certainly hire them again.

James is very knowledgeable and experienced. He arrived within the time range expected and performed the repair quickly. Professional and dependable. This is the 2nd time I've used 123 Appliance and will call them again when/if the need arises.

It went great. They were there on time. Diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. The technician is the reason I would recommend them to anyone. Their magnet is on my fridge.

They were great to work with. They were able to make an appointment very shortly after I called. They were punctual and did a great job. We have not had any problems with the ice maker since then.

Called at 4:30 yesterday. James called this morning at 9:30 to say he was on the way. He arrived at 10:00. Within moments, he had diagnosed the problem. He had the part on the truck. It is now 10:22 and he is gone.

I completed their online form requesting a quote, figuring it would be the next day before I heard from anyone, but within minutes of submitting the form - I got a call! The gentleman that called was SO NICE! My family and I are renting a house and the HE washer has mold in it, so I wanted to see if they could help. The gentleman who phoned was not only nice but honest enough to tell me there was nothing he could do that I couldn't! I was NOT expecting THAT kind of honesty!! He told me exactly what to do and how to tackle the problem...and I thanked him several times...to which he responded: "I'm not going to ask you to pay your hard-earned money just so I can make you pay a service call for something you don't need me to work on. I don't work like that, and I'm not out to get your money." I nearly fell over! So, I'm off to the store to get the things he told me to get, but I'm keeping his number handy - they will be THE FIRST people I call if I (or anyone else I know) need appliance help!!! Kudos for outstanding customer service and integrity!

Couldn't be happier with this company. I called and within 10 minutes, James, the technician gave me call and knew from my description of the problem that I needed a water pump. This was all on a Saturday and he was able to fit me in within the hour. He arrived shortly, took about 20 minutes to replace the water pump and motor and was out the door. The price was as quoted over the telephone. My washer is back in business ~ just completed a cycle. They also give a 1 Year part warranty. This is unheard of in appliance repair ~ the last place used only gave a 90 day warranty.

I received a phone call within 10 minutes of placing an online request for services. They were able to schedule a service call for the next day, Saturday, at no additional cost. Technician arrived on time and provided us with a 30 minute call ahead. He completed the work in about 30 minutes. I did not call around for price quotesbut I would call this company again if only for their superior customer service. Very happy customer.

James from 123 gave me his personal cell number and told me I could call until 9pm. He picked up the phone every time I called. He walked my tenant through what he thought the problem with our dishwasher was over the phone and it was fixed! It was so nice of him to try to help us out without charge or insisting on coming out to the house to see it. I will use them in the future!

When James arrived and determined that the compressor was indeed shot, he said it would be a couple of days before a new one could be installed. However, only a few minutes after he left, he called back to inform us that they had one in the warehouse and it would be installed that same day. We were impressed by Ron who went to extra lengths when installing the new compressor. He discovered that the valve he initially used was faulty so he replaced it with another one. He wasn't going to leave until everything was in perfect working order. We really appreciated the fast, professional service and highly recommend them.
