Description of Work: After our laundry room flooded Chris and his team were able to put our house back together on time, for a reasonable price. He was on time and an excellent communicator.

Contacted company by email on Sunday and got a quick response and visit for estimate (day or two). Short delay getting estimate back but the estimate was very clearly detailed. Price seemed a little high but I don't have any other estimates to compare it to. Estimate was supposedly "worst case scenario" to cover any potential additional costs that might be incurred (~ $1500). We went to local hardware store and selected our own toilet and flooring, crew picked them up at store. Crew was right on time, work was well done, completed in a single day (exactly as promised) and in a very professional manner. After they left, you couldn't even tell they had been there (except our bathroom was like new). We paid half in advance and half at completion of the job. When job was complete and "worst case scenario" had not been encountered, company gave us $150 off the original estimate. Total cost of the job was $1350 (which I still feel was just a little high for the job but we are very happy with all other aspects of this job). Complete turn around on job from first contact to completion was about two weeks (including 4th of July Holiday week). We are well satisfied with this job and this company and would gladly recommend them to anyone (all other companies we contacted with this job never even completed the estimate process, most didn't even return our calls).
Description of Work: Replaced floor and sub flooring of 5'x5' bathroom to repair floor damaged by leaking toilet. Replaced toilet, sub floor and put down vinyl flooring, added some and put back original molding around the floor.

Overall the job went well with no problems. At the end of each day, all the old removed materials were totally cleaned up and removed from my site. There were some weather delays and delay in waiting for the metal roofing which had to be custom ordered and took longer than expected.
Description of Work: Construction of a new deck addition of 16 X 8 feet to an existing deck with all required support posts and rails. Construction of a new Corner Addition to the existing deck at the front where steps down to the driveway were removed. incluudes all required support posts and rails to match existing deck. Installed new roof over new deck area that joined to the existing roof over the existing deck. The new roof mirrored the old one and matched materials used including underlayment and metal roofing to match.Removal and disposal of all the old deck boards including the entrance ramp and replaced with all new 2 X 6 pressure treated deck boards to totally match all the new deck floor. At the far end of the new deck, construction of a landing leading to stairs constructed down to garden and storage shed area. Finally installed new heavier duty lattice covering both the old and new deck areas.

Generally speaking, because of the large amount sequential work, where one phase had to wait until another was complete, the job went very smoothly and other than a few unforeseen events, was finished in a timely manner. A small punch list remains to date, however we expect this not to be a problem for resolving.
Description of Work: This project involved interior home repairs resulting from flood damage that occurred on 5/8/12. The work included removal and return of all furniture to from a storage container on site, removal of existing carpeting, replacing dry wall throughout approx. 12" above floor, repainting of walls throughout, installation of new hardwood flooring in all rooms except kitchen, utility area and bathrooms. After the flooring, many door casings were replaced along with new baseboards and shoe molding. Other work included shelving, some plumbing connections and replacement of master bathroom vanity cabinets. For the most part, it was a total remake of the homes interior.

FINISHED WORK WAS EXCELLENT!
Description of Work: Chris was extremely professional from the very first phone call. I so appreciated the fact that he called and showed up exactly as he said. When he started the project he stayed with it until it was finished. His work was so beautiful. He is very creative and was able to help me with the design of how I wanted it to look. I would recommend Chris and his team to anyone. I will use him again in the future for all of my projects.

Chris and the guys showed up on the scheduled day and on time and finished the job early. Overall they did a fantastic job with the tiling. It ended up less expensive than expected because they used less materials than the store estimated. The room and work area was cleaner when they were done when than they arrived. I couldn't be there so they let themselves in and locked up when they were done then sent me detailed pictures of the finished job. Great job guys!
Description of Work: They did a fairly large tile job in our second home. They moved furniture, removed the carpet and padding, prepared the concrete, tiled, grouted and very importantly, cleaned up.

I chose CT Enterprises from a list of companies interviewed for numerous and varied projects we had around the house. Chris stood our from his competitors by the confidence he displayed in saying he could do all the things we wanted to achieve. Also, he offered many good, imaginative ideas I hadn't considered and this was a big plus. CT's price proposal was not the lowest but I believe I got very good overall value for the quality of work performed. One thing you can expect from Chris and his great crew (Ken and Dennis) is that they can do a wide range of jobs with confidence and skill. We gave them a project in framing a new wall with particularly challenging specs and they performed very admirably. Tile work also very expertly done. There was one hiccup with a subcontractor brought in for a particular task but Chris was on top of the situation quickly and effectively. This is not a complaint but another example of his good customer service and management skill. Highly recommend!

I got an estimate and they stuck to the estimate. I paid half when half the job was done. The estimate was in line with what I had got elsewhere. My final check was $25 more because he had finished a job that a builder or electrician had left where an electrical wiring was exposed through a hole cute in the wall which was unfinished and concealed with the refrigerator and electrical outlet with wires pulled out of a whole in the wall. They had used an extension cord to keep my refrigerator running and I had never noticed it. I could see a gaping hole so he charged me $25 for putting in a box and receptacle to cover this. This was an unfinished electrical outlet that he fixed but he did not do any wiring. I was very grateful that he did this for me and I'm assuming it is fine because the refrigerator is plugged in and running. He shaved down a door that was not closing over the newly varnished floor and put in a door stop which he charged $5 for. He moved my gas stove and reconnected it. I've not discovered any problems. The floor upstairs looks great but I don't think there was a stain applied on the downstairs floor. I thought he was prompt and reasonable. He did the work I hired him to do. The workmanship of the floor upstairs is very pretty. He did a wonderful job with the staining. I think the price was average. He gave me an estimate for redoing two thresholds downstairs that the same builder had done a very poor job on. The estimate was $110. I wanted to give another individual I had worked with before the job because I knew their work was really good from prior experience. He charged $60. I told Chris at CT Enterprises that I would not have him doing the thresholds so he knew he was not doing those . He noticed that I had someone else do it and I felt uncomfortable because that was not necessarily his business. I felt uncomfortable when he addressed this. My two issues were that he wanted paid immediately even after we agreed to pay at the end of the day on Monday and also that he made me uncomfortable because he went back into my house and looked around and commented and noticed that I gave someone else the threshold job which he had given me an estimate/bid to do. I don't want to get to a point where I'm controlled by contractors or where I feel that I have to apologize for not accepting a proposal/bid and giving the work to another company or that I shouldn't have the opportunity to work with other people. I do not want to be totally dependent on one workman as they don't want to rely only on me as their one customer. It may seem like nitpicking but it's important to me.
Description of Work: According to the receipt they did light sanding/Polyurethane /porch sealer application and buffing of porch floor approximately 5.5ftx40ft. Sanding, Polyurethane /stain application and buffing of upstairs kitchen floor approximately 13ft/12ft this includes refinishing of one threshold ($432). They said they did a light sanding and polyurethane/stain application and buffing of down stairs living room floor. The receipt I have says they did the light sanding and polyurethane but what I am unclear about it because I don't think they did a stain application. I also feel the measurements are confusing 13ftx18 and 3ftx5in so I'm unclear about this. The charge was $618. I was told they were sending me another invoice. The new invoice should say that I paid half of the work on Monday, May 14th, when the job was half done. On the morning of Monday, May 14th, Chris asked for the payment and I felt pressured and this was not our agreement. I asked for a new invoice because I wanted my payment to be documented and also the history of the floor to be documented correctly. He also marked the invoice I received today that it was paid on 5/18/12 but I did not pay until today 5/19/12. He promised me an invoice that would be accurate with the correct dates, amounts paid, and explanation of what he did with materials and labor costs.

The day I contacted Chris, he came out that afternoon & measured for an estimate. He provided the actual cost within a day or so. We requested a contract & he generated one. We asked for a modification to the contract & he was very easy to work with & did as we asked. He estimated 2 days for the install, but it took 3 days. When we asked for a certificate of insurance, he emailed us a copy & said if we wanted to verify it, to call the insurance company. The tile installer, Ken, was very meticulous and carefully positioned each tile. We had a bunch of copper accent tiles & he made sure each one was positioned exactly where I wanted it. He & his helper worked almost non-stop to get the job done, with just a few breaks. Ken asked us for our opinion (before he laid the tile) to make sure he did what we wanted. The cost of the job was exactly what was quoted. We are very pleased with the install & it looks beautiful. We would use CT Enterprises again
Description of Work: Installed porcelain tile in the kitchen on the backsplash and above the fiberglass tubs in the 2 bathrooms. They installed copper accent tiles also. The work performed was for labor only. We purchased the tile.

Water from the deck above the new doors that had been installed was pouring down against the doors and accumulating near the doors. I asked Chris about a solution to prevent this from happening. He suggested installing corrugated plastic sheets below the deck so the water would run off away from the house. He gave me a price that I could afford. He and his worker were prompt and completed the job satisfactorily, resolving the problem that I had. We had used Chris for a previous job and would use him again.

Chris has done work for me before. He has put in a French door, a storm door, a sliding glass door, and kitchen windows. Because he has done such a good job for those projects, I called him again. He responded promptly, as always, and he calls and comes when he says he will. Chris came out, gave me an estimate, and he later called to tell me that the cost was going to be higher than the original figure. I appreciate that he checked with me first and kept me informed. I decided to go on with the project, and Chris installed the glass panels. He removed the old material and the trash from his work, and he worked quickly, as he has every time he has done work for me. Chris is professional, and I would highly recommend him to others.

Mr Tarske and his crew enclosed a 10'X 40' large deck on our home. There was a roof over the deck. This entailed framing the three walls , insulating both walls and above the ceiling, furnishing and installing 5 6'x 7' Anderson sliding windows, siding the walls, both inside and out with a cedar siding. Further they built a 4x8 rock wall and 4x4 slate hearth and installed a wood burning stove. this included installing a chimney through the ceiling and roof. Finally they installed a hardwood floor in the room. The total package was completed in 10 days and is everything that we wanted. The work crew was highly skilled and precise in the job. They were diligent in cleaning up the area and removing waste each day and at the completion, made certain that all of the debris was removed. All in all, the job was done very well and we are enthusiastic about CT enterprises and will have in the future.
Description of Work: The job entailed enclosure of our 40X10' covered deck on the back of our home. Mr Tarske came to the house and listened to our plans and submitted an estimate within 24 hours. The job entailed removal of the existing railings, framing the walls, installing 5 6x7 Anderson sliding windows, and 2 steel doors. The exterior walls were covered with sheathing and insulation was installed on the interior. Cedar siding was applied to all exterior and interior walls (to match the original siding on the house. A 4'x8' area on an inside wall was covered with rock and a 4x4 hearth of slate was installed. This was the base for a wood burning stove which was installed and vented. The underside of the floor (which is an open area) was insulated and a plywood covering applied. Finally, a hardwood floor was installed.

This company was AMAZING! After obtaining several estimates, we chose them based on the fact that they were very responsive to our questions and concerns. When we started the project, we asked them how long they estimated it would take. They told us "approximately two weeks." The entire project was completed in exactly 10 working days! They were extremely professional at all times. They arrived each day to begin work when they said they would be here; they were respectful of our property, and they often made suggestions regarding the construction that proved to be cost-efficient and aesthetically pleasing. After the work had begun, we decided to add ceiling spot lights, which slightly increased our cost. Other than that addition, our final cost was exactly as estimated. We would not hesitate for one second to recommend this company for any remodeling work. In fact, we are planning kitchen and bath remodels soon and will be contacting them.
Description of Work: We remodeled the basement to make a guest area. This included adding a bathroom, a closet, a bedroom, and a family room area. The work performed included removing and then adding new drywall (including the ceiling), all electrical, plumbing, painting, tearing out old carpet, installing new tile in the bathroom, carpentry, cabinet installation, and so much more!

I had several people look at our sagging floor problem, but Chris gave us the most precise, detailed estimate of any. The floor was terribly uneven and was bouncing like a diving board. Chris and his team installed new joists and insulation, and completed the work quickly and cheerfully (remarkable, given the extremely difficult working conditions). The workmanship was excellent, and our floor is now solid as a rock and leveled out. I was so happy with the results of the floor/crawlspace repair that I asked them for an estimate on a bathroom renovation. Again we were provided a very precise, accurate estimate. The work would have been done precisely as planned if they hadn't encountered completely unexpected (and bizarre) wiring and plumbing problems in our house. Chris kept me apprised of issues as they arose, and kept to schedule. I was impressed at his attention to detail, and his innovative thinking when it came to customizing the bathroom for an elderly handicapped person. Chris's associate Ken brought a wealth of skill and experience to the projects. I plan to hire CT Enterprises for any other renovations that we do on this home.
Description of Work: Professional, expert design and installation of an entire bathroom; created a beautiful tiled shower. The entire room was customized for an elderly handicapped person. They also repaired and inserted floor joists in a cramped crawlspace to correct a badly sagging floor. They repaired old electrical and plumbing, and repaired a whole-house water filtration system. The jobs were all done skillfully and promptly, and within budget (as estimated).

1. We were completely satisfied with this company's work. Chris is very professional and the completed work shows it. I watched him cut the ceiling holes for the new lighting fixtures. Even though the holes would not show, once the fixtures were in place, he took the time to cut them perfectly round. 2. The bad drainage situation was very quickly diagnosed and we have not had any further problems since the work was completed. 3. Chris and his employees are prompt and complete their excellent work quickly. 4. We looked at some photos of some of the decks Chris had built/rebuilt and they looked VERY nice. We plan to have his complany do our deck work sometime this summer. 5. All-in-all, we have NO complaints and would not hesitate to use this company again or recommend their services.
Description of Work: 1. Replace 3 florescent light fixtures (parts and labor) 2. Add 1 new light fixture in attic area (parts and labor) 3. Wire and install 2 new light fixtures in master bathroom (labor) 4. Diagnose and fix drainage problem in front porch area (parts and labor). Poor drainage was causing underlying soil to be washed out under front porch slab and brick sidewalk pavers. Several feet of the pavers were removed and 25-foot trench, parallel to the porch was dug. The trench was then lined with small stones, plastic sheeting and a large diameter, ventilated drain pipe was installed. The drain was then covered with rocks and soil and the brick pavers were replaced. The front portion of the porch slab was stabilized with additional concrete and improved cosmetically. 5. An estimate was given for a future project (rebuilding a large rear deck).

Chris replaced an existing door when we were thinking of doing this project. Discussion were held, a plan was developed, other contractors were contacted and bids were submitted. They were all in the 'ballpark' but we liked Chris's personality, professionalism on previous job and the ideas he was presenting for the new project(s). We highly recommend Chris, appreciate his honesty - if he was unable or did not feel comfortable preforming a task and came up with alternatives. It seemed like he would not do something on your house if he wouldn't do it on his own home. We will not hesitate contacting him in the future on any remolding job, whether small or large.
