Mr. Howard came out in July to do an estimate on the projects we wanted too get done. Mr. Howard gave us a written estimate and stated everything that we were looking to have done in our home. After Mr. Howard gave us the price we thought it was really high so we called two other contractors and too our surprise Mr. Howard was by far a lot cheaper in his price.We went with Mr.Howard and his crew and we are really glad we did. Howard and sons did everything that was in the contract and a great job at that. Mr.Howard explained everything too us as it was being done and was very understanding when as the work was being performed we decided to change around a few things.We love our new bathroom and hardwood floors in our dinning room. Our roof does not leak and everything was cleaned up on a daily basis. It actually seems like our yard is cleaner than before the roof was even started. I would highly recommend to any one planning on doing remodeling in their home or replacing a roof to give Howard and Sons a call, I know I will be calling him again for other remodeling plans I have for my house.

With my Husband being in wheelchair, its very hard for him to go outside. Mr.Howard would take pictures and show my husband what was going on. Making my husband and I feel safe and very pleased. He informed us that our wood was rotted underneath our roof, and that he would fix it. He did priestly what was written on the contract. I'm also pleased that they replaced my roof especially in this colder weather. Numerous times i would look out my window and noticed Mr. Howard and his crew cleaning everything up. Keeping my house looking just the way I left even a little better. He (Mr. Howard) even cleared the leaves from my walk ways and drive way, I'm very pleased with the work and price he gave us. Not once did feel that i was taken advantage of. Like previous contractors. I felt safe and reassured with Mr. Howard and his crew. I will go back to him in the near future. Overall excellent work! And great group of workers.

I'm overall pleased. I was very sketchy at first due to the fact i was taken advantage of by numerous other Contractors, Mr. Howard and his employees were beyond exceptional. Very sweet an well mannered gentleman. cleaned up the job site daily. Made sure there was nothing on my ground. Keeping my grandchildren safe. The job took a few days longer but Mr.Howard kept me informed about everything. I was very understanding due to his very busy work schedule. Mr. Howard did a few extra things around my house for no cost at all. I'm very pleased with the outcome. And overall flabbergasted. I will be going back to Howard and Sons Roofing and Remodeling in the near future.

They really did not do much. The caulking was a mess and they didnt clean the gutters very well. They said we needed to change our roof, however, we had 4 other professionals come in and they all said we did not have to change the roof.

They cleaned our gutters. There was an extra charge as there are gutter guards and we agreed on the additional price. They had some questions on the roofing on a part of the house. He quoted me a price and I said I would speak to my husband. My husband called them back, they explained over the phone what they told me to my husband. He said he would come out and further discuss it. Said he would come out the next day between 2-5 to explain it with us. We waited all day and they never came or called. We are not satisfied at all. The gutter cleaning went without a hiccup. What is going on with our roof is very important to be fixed and really needs to be taken care of. Since he did not follow up, this is why he receives poor grades.

We hired him to clean the gutters and replace the siding. I had him wait to do the siding until another contractor could replace our porches. The owner, Matthew Howard, called the contractor we had hired to replace the proches and had them cancel the contract, without our permission, so he could take the job. He told me that building the porches and replacing the siding would take 3 weeks back in September and it still hasn't been completed. He has been ignoring our calls and messages. He just sent men out to pick up all the tools and ladders that were left on our property. I also had to pay an electrician come out to fix an installation he had done, by someone that wasn't an electrician, for a new light fixture.

Was able to schedule a convenient time, on a Sunday! Richard was very nice and very knowledgable. I got the gutter cleaning and roof inspection. It was a great deal. We will definitely be using them again!

I called Mr. Howard and left a message to schedule my service on 9/20/13. He advised me that he would call back in a few days to schedule. When he called back, he asked if the service could be scheduled on 10/28/13 between 8:00-12:00. He stated he was very busy and it would give more time for the leaves to fall. We agreed upon the 10/28 date & time. I received no confirmation call from Mr. Howard, but thought nothing of it since we had a scheduled appointment. On the agreed day of service, Mr. Howard did not show up, nor did I receive a call from him. I have not heard from him at all since our original scheduling conversation. I would not recommend this provider to anyone due to his unreliable service.

They were friendly, punctual and got the work done quickly. Originally, we scheduled to have to work done the day before, but due to rain the workers could not be on the roof. I was impressed that Matt expressed concern for the safety of his employees and with the fact that he notified me immediately to reschedule. When they arrived the next morning, they got right to work, made a minor repair to secure the gutter and let me know that the roof and gutters were in good condition after the inspection. Rich gave me an approximate age of the roof (I am not the original owner) and noted a replacement part for the gutter that could be made next year. They assured me the gutters were secure. I am happy with the work and their professionalism and will certainly contact them again when gutter cleaning, roofing and/or remodeling needs arise.

Inspected the roof and corrected minor problems that were located. Then discussed and explained preventative measures/products that can be installed. Discussion was informative and not pushy, he then left to purchased and install a vent boot to ensure vent is leak proof. He apologized that product did not come in large enough size for older vent, yet informed me he would contact the maker directly and inquire if larger size is available and if not if it would be in the future.

Matt and team were right on time and very professional. I had the $99.00 roof inspection and gutter cleaning and they were very thorough. I asked for them to do some additional work for me which he is going to be doing. Very nice group of guys. I have tons of things I need done and will be asking them for other things in the future.

Two guys showed up and went right to work. When they were done I had to ask them to sweep off two small sections of roof where leaves had accumulated in a corner, so that the leaves wouldn't get washed right back into the gutter with the next rainfall. They willing did that for me, but did not have a broom. I also didn't have a broom because I had not yet moved into the house. They brushed off the leaves by hand and had to clean some of them out of the gutter. I noticed later that they never cleaned the gutters on my shed, but that is something I can do on my own. I was more concerned about the house gutters. They said the roof looked good.

We ordered thru Angie's List the special for Howard & Sons and we could not be happier. We were surprised by the rapid response and professional service we received from Richard and his partner. My husband is very particular who he has working on our house at any time, so he was a little skeptical. He could not stop praising the work, knowledge and professionalism he encountered with this company. We are already planning on calling them for future projects we have. In our own personal opinion, we think anyone needing any type of home services should call this company without hesitation.

After the gutter cleaning and roof inspection, the guy said that a couple of slates were loose and needed to be affixed. Then the bill was $400!There was the owner of the "company" who just walked around. His helper was a short, wiry guy that got sent up to the roof. It turns out that this guy can have a lethal reaction to bee stings so I gave him a can of of repellant. The poor guy said that he did not have his epi pen with him so, if bit, he could have gone into an anaphylactic (spelling?) shock right in my backyard. Without the epi pen, the guy could have died. The owner should never, in my opinion, let this guy up on my roof. I would characterize the owner as"sleazy" and the helper as a nice guy just trying to earn a living.

Rescheduled several times because of heavy demand on contractor. Performed work as promised.

It was good. They came promptly and on time. They finished the work in about 45 minutes.

Great work, fast, cleaned everything up and disposed of it.

They told me they would come around 7:30 when I called at 9am they said they had my location wrong and were on their way. They arrived at 9:30, cleaned the gutters and were gone by 10.

We sent them a detailed description of the known very minor details well within the scope of the deal. Howard and Sons were unprofessional in handling our phone calls, were curt, abrupt, barely civil, boarderline insulting. They said they would respond to our email. They did not, and did not acknowledge receipt. When I called back they scheduled an appointment for 8 AM, Friday, October 11, at my address. They did not call near that date to confirm the appointment, nor email. When I called on Thursday, October 10, to make sure they were coming the next morning, they were uncivil on the phone, appeared to have no idea what I was talking about. When I reminded them carefully that we had an appointment, Mr. Howard said, "Yeah, I saw it on the list." I very purposefully had scheduled our appointment as the first appointment of the working day, 8 AM. At 8:12 AM I had to call and check where they were. They were uncivil in answering my call, hollering into the phone that they would be there sometime between 8 and 10 AM. They said they were at an address 5 minutes from my home. At 8:18 AM they called me to ask my address, and read a completely wrong address into the phone, and said they were lost. At 8:30 AM I called them back to ask where they were, and Mr. Howard started yelling into the phone, "I always schedule a two hour window" (they did not, we agreed to 8 AM), "I said 8 to 10" (he did not, at least not that I could hear in the very poor quality phone they use to try to run the business), "I am in this to make money", and something to the effect of " I'll be there when I get there" . At 8:31 I had to call back, after being cut off, and they were no longer answering my calls. I left a message that the deal was off, that I had expected them at 8 AM, that they had given me an address 5 minutes away 18 minutes ago. I did not trust, anymore, due to their lack of professionalism, courtesy, accuracy, or clarity, to do anything on my roof or house. I started driving to work and at 8:43 AM saw Howard and Son in their truck, marked with their name, parked in front of the local hardware store, together in the cab of their truck. I rolled down my window and told them the deal was off, due to their lateness and lack of professionalism, and that I would be writing this review. I was told by Mr. Howard to go ahead and do so.

They were very efficient. They inspected the entire roof and made repairs to items which could have become problem spots if not cared for. The business owner recommended rain diverters on a few spots instead of gutters due to the slope of the property. This was a fraction of the cost of new gutters and a much better option for my home. These guys are aces!

Well, it's complicated. A Howard and Sons employee showed up on 8/12/13 to perform the attic fan install after purchasing the special on Angie's List. However, after a quick inspection of the attic and a discussion with me, the employee explained the cost of this service would be drastically more expensive since there was no existing electrical service in the attic to tie into for the fan. I was a bit disappointed that this had not been mentioned as a potential cost in the fine print of the Angie's List deal. During out conversation, I was also disappointed to hear there would be additional charges because our roof was certain pitch. Again, I had not anticipated this additional cost from what I had read in regards to the Angie's List special for this service. I was contacted the next day by Matthew Howard and he explained that they had perhaps been a bit too hasty in putting the deal together for Angie's List but was attempting to figure out how to make it up to customers who had purchased this special. He offered we could either get a refund or we could consider a solar powered attic fan, which would avoid the additional costs of the wiring needed for a traditional attic fan. He was also willing to drop the charge for the roof pitch since it wasn't clearly stated in the details of the Angie's List offer. I decided to look at solar attic fans on Home Depot's website, as suggested by Mr. Howard. He explained he'd need to order one once I picked it out. I found one I liked and sent him the link, and we then discussed what additional costs the fan would represent over the original deal. After some back and forth, we've still not settled on a price, although a final bill in the $600 range was mentioned. The ball is currently in my court and I will be contacting Mr. Howard to get this project moving once again and see if I can get the upgraded solar fan installed before winter. 7/17/14 - The solar roof fan was installed last November after several attempts to agree on a date. While the crew was cleaning up a tool was dropped off the roof onto my new Trex deck. Didn't see the damage at the time, but this spring the chuip revealed itself. We noticed that the protective plastic cling wrap was never removed from the face of the solar panel. I placed several calls with Mr. Howard who said someone would be over to remove it, but they never showed and I've given up trying to correct that mistake. I'm disappointed they aren't more concerned with righting this issue post-sale then they have been.

Very professional. Job was well done

The job went very well and done according to the contract Mr. Howard provided. The crew worked long and hard and finished this large roofing job on time. I liked the fact that when a problem was discovered, Mr. Howard stopped work, showed me the problem, gave me the options and quoted a fair price. After the project was completed, his crew did a wonderful job of clean up. I was amazed that they even removed nails that were stuck between the floor boards on my deck. You would not even know a new roof project was done. Clean as a whistle. Mr. Howard called me a few days after completion of the job and after a heavy rain storm to check with me for any problems or leaks.

I ordered the deal and was contacted the next day. An appointment was setup. Upon arrival Jonathon measured the roof and declared it was 39 square and would require an additional $5700. We did not believe the roof to be this large (still don't actually) and cannot afford the additional expense. I informed Jonathon that I could not afford this and would not be proceeding with the work.

Excellent work. They went above and beyond my expectations. Great company with hard workers. Will use again for future projects.
