These guys are fantastic. I called about a few small jobs I needed done. They answered right away. (NO LEAVING A MESSAGE). They quoted a price for the jobs, were out the same day and done in a couple hours. Cleaned up after themselves. They are on my go to list no more hunting for a dependable handyman

Where to start, This company should be ashamed of the work they do. There was no attention to detail with anything, everything was very poorly done. The owner seemed to hire any riff raff off the streets, and any family that wouldn't work a regular job and was just looking to make a quick buck, he would bring in with no experience. I had several projects and all of them were half assed. The company was paid in full and they were supposed to come back and correct things but never heard from them again. Walked into the house one day to check on progress and it smelled like pot where they had been smoking it. I personally bought some linoleum for a bathroom. there was quite a bit of it left over and they just helped themselves to it and stole it. This company doesn't know what their doing and are nothing more than carpet baggers ripping people off. Don't believe me, hire them and see for yourself

This is how all contractors should run their business. Quickly determined what they could do with our old deck with great examples, explained how they would bring it up to code and complete the deck short time, on budget! Highly recommend! John

Matt and Steven went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done correctly and safely. I would highly recommend them. My husband himself would recommend them and that is saying a lot. The quality for the price was spot on.

I can’t express how grateful my family and I are for Matt and his company. Hurricane Helene caused catastrophic damage to our house and property. The storm caused the back side of our house to almost wash away and flooded our entire down stairs finished basement. We called Matt and his company and they were out within a day to look at the damage. He gave us an extremely fair quote. The following day before we even cut him a check. He had his crew out at our property and the back side of our house up on jacks. The communication was outstanding!! They were able to get the back side of my house Jacked back up and back on properly placed posts. They also were able to help replace and redo my finished basement and some damaged plumbing . We had been wanting to add an extra room for one of our boys for a while and didn’t have the know how or financial means. Matt went ahead and built us the extra bedroom, and only charged us building supply costs.. The bedroom came out beautiful and was better than we could have ever expected . During this time FEMA and insurance were and have been of very little financial help. This project almost completely came out of my own pocket. They did the work as asked and then went a step above to do the work before, I was able to completely pay them. They never hounded us for money and were completely sympathetic and understanding to our situation. I wish every company had an owner like Matt. Outstanding work, extremely fairly priced, and most of all he was extremely empathetic and didn’t seem to care about his bottom line. He only truly seemed to care about our situation and that we were happy with what work he had done for us. I can’t brag enough or be thankful enough for Matt, his company, and the quality of work that they did.

A Step Above definitely went above and beyond to help us remodel our deck and reframe our doorway after the hurricane. They helped us work through a problem with the corner of our kitchen that was discovered during the remodel. The deck looks fantastic and we're happy to have a working door again. They were friendly, listened to our concerns, offered alternatives (especially in the cost area), did what they said they were going to do, efficient in their work, and tidy. They did great work! They were able to come out the day after we contacted them and completed the project that day. They were professional and efficient. They gave honest feedback about other concerns we have about the house. We will definitely use their services again for future needs.

I am very pleased with the work Matthew and his crew did at my home. Over the course of just a few days, they installed a new toilet and fixed the subfloor in my bathroom, tore down a large deck and above ground swimming pool, and replaced all the facia board and reinstalled the gutters around my house. Matthew and his crew were very professional and took pride in their work. When they finished, they cleaned up and left things as they found them. I thank them for their services and will not hesitate to call them with future projects.

Job went well. Only delay in. Getting job done was waiting for materials to be delivered from Lowe's. Communication was good also. They did a great job in cleaning up after themselves and house looks same as it did prior to job being started.

They ran into a lot of extra work as well and Matt was always sure to explain anything and everything needed to complete the job and have the best outcome. Communication was great we always knew when to expect them here and knew when they would be back the next day. His crew worked very hard countless hours and they worked professionally (which don't normally happen with construction guys) We are absolutely in love with our new floors and the new look throughout our home. Would definitely recommend for any home improvement needs one may have. We do plan on using them in the future for some deck rebuilding and anything else that may arise.

They hung 3 massive mirrors. Did a great job. Were capable, prompt, hard-working, and very nice. Highly recommend!
