Description of Work: A&D conducted a performance check on our two Hvac units. They ran a series of tests and cleaned both units. They let us know that one component of one unit was in shaky condition but may last another year or two. They didn't try to convince us to replace it right away but instead encouraged us to get as much use out of the part as possible. I thought this was the sign of a true professional.

Description of Work: This company replaced a defective part of our system under an original warranty. Did fine job.

Description of Work: Installed a whole house humidifier that never worked right. Would return calls and set a time to come out and not show up. Finally stopped returning our calls. When we had someone else finally come out, they said it was installed incorrectly and that he used extension cords instead of wiring properly.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal for a central A/C inspection, cleaning, and tune-up.

Description of Work: Tuned up HVAC, replaced pump, performed preventative maintenance.

Description of Work: I bought a BigDeal coupon on Angies list. Called the company to schedule a visit to clean /inspect/tune-up my AC unit on the rooftop. The company said that they are very sorry but they do not service AV units on the rooftop. Service was not performed.

Description of Work: The service provider was booked up and unable to schedule me until next week and I needed someone today or tomorrow at the latest. They were very polite about it and was trying to find a spot to squeeze me in but was unable to do it. The scheduler tried to squeeze me in this afternoon but as soon as she found out she couldn't she called me back to let me know. Based on the fact that she seemed to genuinely try to help me and that they have so much work lined up, I would be willing to try again to use them in the future when something comes up.

Description of Work: They had to change my appointment 3 times but did eventually come out. He did a great job tuning up my furnance and identifying problems. I didn't like the "hard sell" on the entire new system. I have two systems in my house, and each would have been about $7,000. The prices were great, but because of some opening in the schedule, I had to make a decision in two days. We don't make $14,000 decisions in our family in 2 days, so we declined. Great communication and prompt and knowledgeable personnel. It would have been nice to have 30 days at that price so I could have planned for the expense. Maybe next time.

Description of Work: I found the technician to be personable and professional. I ended up signing a contract with them for a year of maintenance.

Description of Work: Great service. We initially found them because of an "Angie's List Big Deal". They looked at our two units and the system throughout the house. We ended up taking their one year service deal which was an even better bargain. Overall, they did a great job in servicing our heating/a/c pumps. The owner and an employee came out. Also, we called them on a Sunday morning expecting to leave a message but ended up scheduling an appointment. They were extremely responsive and professional.

Description of Work: It was sweltering hot in Charlotte. Upstairs a/c went out. Five Star came out for the first time to our house, told us the part was under warranty and fixed the a/c. We paid for labor. It was worth it! Will use them again.
