A & D Heating & AC

Don't waste your time or money with these people. I had nothing but problems with A & D. Installation was a nightmare. One of the techs cut himself and bled on my walls while installing the inside air component. Then I was asked if he could borrow a ladder because he didn't want to have to go downstairs to his truck. A month later we had another issue with a line set which was an extra $1500 and it ended with him cussing out his techs over the mess made outside. Unbeknownst to us, a hole was cut on our attic roof and flooded the bedroom while we were away on vacation costing thousands of dollars in damages to our unit and the unit below us. Thankfully, his insurance covered everything but it was a complete mess for almost three months inside our condo. Another time I called for a service check and David said he had a bad knee but could face time me over the phone! W**? Who runs a business like this? I'm guessing most of the positive reviews are fake. A&D doesn't appear to have a legit website or office building.

After 15-20 days something went wrong with my a/c because they gave a wrong diagnostic and I used another company to fix it. I spent a lot of money on a hot Saturday afternoon. I had asked this company why the a/c was not working they advising me to buy another deal with Angie’s List in order to come back for further diagnosis.

This company was fantastic. They worked with me, fitting me in at a normally very busy time, in order to get my units serviced. My home is on the market, and making sure the AC is working efficiently is very important to keep the home comfortable for both my family and prospective buyers. They were friendly and obviously concerned about helping their customers out when I called, and when I called back the day of service to ask about a window of time for when they would arrive (since I had a showing the same morning), they made sure to call and let me know when they were 1/2 hour out. Then, they arrived right when they told me they would. The service call went smoothly, the guys finished up quickly and they never tried to sell me on anything I didn't need - simply cleaned the system and were on their way. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others.

Nothing extraordinary and nothing bad, just OK. It was a system inspection.

There wasn’t too much to do. It was okay. I had to have them back out in July as my A/C wasn't functioning at capacity. I was having a big party, and they told me to shut my A/C off to defrost it. They told me to call at 4:30pm and I did, but no one was there. I left several messages, but they didn't respond till the next day. We had to have the party with the A/C on at full blast (not at full capacity). They've resolved the overall problem.

Service was completed. Disconnect box was inoperable therefore, all work could not be completed. Which is understandable. When another vendor arrived the next day to repair the disconnect box, he highlighted areas that should have been a part of the cleaning process. Perhaps this is not a part of the standard cleaning this company provides. The technician that came was a nice guy. As homeowners we should have got a complete listing of what was included in our purchase.

Called on Monday and Dave come out on Tuesday. Quick service, as usual. He was on time and was able to replace the part right away and get the AC running cold again in just a few minutes. Dave is always a professional and honest. I would not call another company to service the AC.

It went well, I couldn't be more pleased

I purchased two tune-up deals from the provider. They came on time, did the job quickly, and did not push us to buy anything else. I highly recommend them.

It did not go well. I purchased a service contract for my A/C and heating system from ECO, this company was subsequently sold to A & D Htg & AC. Whenever I called, no one in the office could help me. I was repeatedly told that I needed to speak to the owner. After two weeks and several phone calls where I was told each time that Dave Geiger would call me back, Dave never did call me back. Finally able to get through to him after calling, he complained about what a mess the ECO contracts that he purchased were. He was not willing to honor our agreement with ECO, and frankly I didn't experience any of the Southern Hospitality that I expected to receive after moving to the South. ECO may have had messy paperwork, but they were very professional and treated their customers with respect.

I purchased a tune up deal from the provider. But upon inspection we weren't able to do the Tune-up but nee parts were installed to get the unit running properly. The work was done quickly and thoroughly and the unit is still running strong.

The technician, JT, was on time, polite and knowledgeable. This review is reflective of the company and owner of the business and not the technician. On August 18, 2013, our HVAC unit in our rental townhouse was serviced. I purchased a float switch for $175 to be installed within the next few days. The office would need to locate or order the float switch. Considering the townhouse would only be vacant for the next two weeks, I was assured the office would have the float switch available and scheduled for installation. The invoice shows a note for the office of "Office - Order Float Switch. Sched. with Homeowner when part in hand". I called A & D on 9/11/13 and spoke with Connie. They could not find any records on my service, so I had to provide her with my invoice number and details for her to research. She stated due to the company merging that they were having a tough time. I called A & D back on 9/18/13 and spoke with Connie again. I informed her that there were tenants residing in the property now and to issue a refund for the float switch since my order was overlooked or lost. Connie was very polite and stated she would discuss this with "David" and get back with me. I called A & D again on 10/14/13 and spoke with Connie. She stated she would look into it again. She called me back and stated the information was on David's desk. I asked how long it would take for a response and she was unsure. I called A & D back on 12/3/13 and spoke with Tammy as Connie was no longer with the company. Tammy was unaware of my prior calls and had to research the issue herself. I called A & D back on 12/12/13 and spoke with Amanda and had to inform her of my reason for calling. I called Amanda back on 12/18/13 to request a status. She stated the information was on David Geiger's desk and he would get to it. I asked how long it would take since this issue has been open since August. She was unsure. I called A & D again ( 9th CALL) and spoke to Tammy. She remembered me and stated she would look into it. She was very polite. My issue with A & D is that they appear to be fine taking the customer's money, but when there is an obvious issue, the owner fails to step up and provide any level customer service. I have called A & D NINE times and have been informed by the employees that the information is in David Geiger's hands. However, David Geiger's doesn't appear to be capable to picking up the phone or issuing a partial refund to supporting customers. I have waited 6 months now to give A & D an opportunity to contact me and issue a refund for the part that was not ordered by the promised date. I have also delayed submitting the Angie's List review to ensure I am fair with my review. At this point, after 6 months of no response from Mr. Geiger, I am forced to file a legal complaint via small claims. Buyer Beware.

It was fine. They were efficient. They came out when they said they would and were there for as long as they said they'd be. I signed a contract with them to do bi-annual maintenance for the fall & spring.

The serviceman arrived on time. Was friendly and made sure everything was working well.

Finally a very persistent receptionist named Connie helped me get the job scheduled. The service person was punctual, friendly, and professional.

Thankfully we were able to call the company that installed the units and correct the problem under warranty, but we never would have known if A&D had not done such a thorough inspection.

They were happy to look at both systems, and went further by giving me detailed filter replacement instructions. They only charged me $15 for the extra system check, and spent over an hour with me discussing my systems. I was so pleased with their expertise and fairness that I contracted for twice-a-year services. I highly recommend them.

The technician was friendly and arrived right on time. He actually arrived a bit earlier than I was expecting and I hadn't arrived at the house yet (it was new house we serviced a few days before moving in). I felt really bad, but the woman I spoke to in the office when she called to let me know he was a few minutes away was very nice about the situation and told me to take my time and drive safely. The technician wound up waiting about 15-20 mins for me at the house and he was also very nice when I finally arrived. The technician was knowledgeable and we discussed air filters and the A/C units and he worked quickly and efficiently to clean the units. There was a little bit of a mis-understanding on the service I purchased as a "Big Deal" because I thought both units were included in the price, but when I looked back at the voucher, I realized I had mis-read it and he offered the 2nd service at the same price I had paid for the "Big Deal". He informed me that the freon was low on one of the units. He was able to explain what would happen if we continued to run "low", but I was a little frustrated that he couldn't tell me where the freon had gone, or if there was a leak. The other unit had no issues. He basically told me to monitor the A/C and if there was any reduction in performance over the course of the summer, there could be a leak. I expected a better ability to detect whether there was a leak or not. It was very expensive to get the freon re-filled and I was frustrated that it was more than I planned to spend that day, and couldn't be sure whether there was a bigger issue or not.

Two guys showed up so it did not take them long. They were punctual and professional and came in to check the A/C units. I realized later when another HVAC company came to check my furnaces that the air conditioning condensation line wasn't connected to anything and was just dripping water under my house. If they did a check of the A/C unit in my crawlspace, I don't see how this could have been missed. I have since had this fixed with a plumbed connection to a new condensate pump.

We had purchased a big deal and it didnt' turn out well. I set up an appointment for them to come out to the house, and they said that I had to be there. Nobody showed up at the time they were supposed to come out. I called them, and I think there was a communication issue, and they rescheduled again. Once the tech had come over, I called them to find out what the problem would be with the system if any. They said that the tech had only come out to do a clean out, and they said that the owner would come out. The owner came out and said that there was a problem with the system, and it would cost 650 Dollars with the system. He then said that someone would call from the office to set up an appointment, and no one would call me. I called them, and they told me that the earliest anyone could come out was 2 weeks out. I felt that I shouldn't call you for a service that I am paying for. I bought the deal in August, and they just came out today. Especially because when I called them initially, I told them that I needed their service to check the AC and give me a quote for what was wrong with it. I had to call and call all the time, they apologized, and it was appreciated. I appreciated the apology and they also told me the back story, but it should not have been so painful.

Went excellent. They were fast, honest and efficient. And competitively priced.

Technician showed up on time and got right to work fixing my neglected unit. It looks brand new after all that he did and the unit runs so much better, I can tell 100% difference in it.

It went well, the technician noticed that the pan near the unit was filling with water. If we had not gotten the service, the water could have caused major damage throughout the house.

I saw the add for a $55.00 special offer for a check up on my heating/ac unit on Angies list. I signed up, paid and wrote the date that was best for me. (approximately one and half weeks later) The date came and went and I still didn't hear from the company. I contacted them, they apologized and were willing to work with me on scheduling another time. On the day agreed upon I was expecting an arrival close to 8am, but got one around 9am. He was very sorry and explained that he company was changing hands and some things got mixed up, but he assured me that it wouldn't happen again. He did a great job in less than an hour and ws very professional. Aside from the scheduling mix up, I was very pleased.

I purcahsed a Big Deal offer for AC system maintenance. I had two AC systems so had to purchase two offers. Made an appointment the same day. The technician came on time and was very knowledgeable and professional. He cleaned the system and noticed that we have a freon leak, that is why we couldn't maintain the temperature on the second floor. We paid an additional fee to have him fill up the system with freon as was needed. The AC worked much better afterwards and was able to maintain the temperature set upstairs.
