I called sometime in July and left message for call back. About 3 weeks later I get a call said he was on vacation and called as soon as he got back. I told him what I needed, he started work around 8/10/11. Pruned scrubs and trees and I was satisfied. Told me he would be back the following week to do the rest of the work two weeks went bye and I had to call him. He finally showed up and did the river rock and planting of the pencil holly started the tilling the front area for seed. Was not able to till the soil claimed it was too hard. Told me he would be back right after the Holiday weekend. He showed up end of week and tilled soil with small truck load of soil; spread seed; and put bio-degradable blanket over seeded area. I asked for instructions on watering and his insructions were lame. ( I got better instructions from my garden books ) He submitted his bill for $1,575.00 and did not give me the 10% discount. He told me he would give me the 10% discount on the next work he did. He work is just so so and I will not be rehiring him for any additional work. I only have about 80% grass in the area he seeded and I am not willing to put up with the frustration of when he will show up and his lack of not following thru on his word. 10/12/11 John has offered me a 15% discount for inconvenience. He has also offered to reseed area saying that he stands behind his work. I have accepted his offer and apology.

They quoted me about $1700 for their services and it was definitely my lowest quote, but I didn’t go with them. John Troeschel is the guy I dealt with. He was not very inclusive and he just did the basic. There was something about him due to which I didn’t feel comfortable with him. I am a widow and I am here home alone; so you just have to go with your gut. He advertises in a magazine. He probably could have been just fine, but I didn’t feel good with him. He came when he said he was going to. He looked at what I needed. He wrote up a proposal and e-mailed it to me. He did everything he was supposed to do. I would probably not consider using his services in the future.

John Troeschel inspected the property carefully prior to the work days and found out exactly which trees and plants we wanted to have removed. He is very knowledgeable about horticulture and gave us helpful advice. The men were punctual, courteous, diligent and thorough.

I am on a monthly fee basis. We started using them in April. I have signed an annual contract. The work they do is okay. I am not sure I am going to continue with them. Their work is satisfactory, but a lot of times you have to call them and remind them about special requests. The follow-up seems to be poor on that.

He was very professional. Found the problem where the leak was coming from and repaired it. They put sod down. You can't tell that there was anything wrong. He was very easy to work with and he did a wonderful job.

Overall, the experience was great. He came out on time to edge the lawn and mulch. In talking to him, I found out that some plants weren't growing right, weren't in the correct location, etc. He had one employee with him, who was also polite and responsible. They worked very well as a team, working 11 hours and now my front yard is just beautiful. The work that was done on my front yard was quite extensive; he brought plants and re-located other plants that I already had. There were some things that I wanted that wouldn't have worked out, and he was able to explain to me why that wouldn't be a good idea, then made great suggestions. He's very knowledgeable about landscaping and very reasonable, too. I'm happy with their services and I would highly recommend them to others. I will definitely have him back this fall to re-do my backyard.

He is hardworking and had a lot of great ideas. He listens to what the customer wants and make sure he is very accomodating. This is a big company, but you felt like you were dealing with a friend. He made you feel good about working with the company. He was outstanding in every way.

My son wanted to surprise us with a retaining wall and landscaping to solve a slope problem in our front yard that made mowing difficult. John really had fun with it, telling my husband he just wanted to aerate and seed. A few days later, we were celebrating an astonishing transformation! Neighbors were coming by to express their appreciation. But while looking great from the curb, John created the best views looking from the house toward the street. We have received so many compliments, even from professionals who stopped to admire the brick selection, french drain and design details. By the way, since our brick color had been discontinued for many years, that presented an initial challenge. John was tireless looking for the right match. Sales representatives came to see the house dropping off samples until the right brick was found. John really minimized my involvement because he knew I was busy with a new grandchild. As someone who has worked in the building industry for many years, I was very impressed with the quality and professionalism of their work. My son is now hiring TLC again for a project that he will get to enjoy from his own windows...an outdoor entertainment center in his new backyard! Obviously, we are now TLC fans!

We had just finished putting an addition onto our house to accommodate my elderly, wheelchair-bound father. Our backyard was completely torn up during this process. John designed a landscape plan, which included beds with shrubs, areas of grass, two stone patios, a stone walkway and stone fire pit, as well as stepping stones to our new shed. He and his crew were incredible! The stones were carefully chosen to provide the smoothest surface for my Dad's wheelchair. They even constructed a wooden handrail with pickets for our new wheelchair ramp. John chose all the plants, shrubs and trees and was even able to incorporate my love of blueberry bushes and cherry trees in his design. TLC took our bakcyard, which was ungraded, full of debris and weeds and turned it into a secret garden paradise ... all that for a reasonable price, as well! I would definitely use this company again.
