Sun Stoppers

In September of 2008 Sun Stoppers Darrell Kirkley installed tinting to all our windows to our 4100 sq ft house at at cost of $2805 which included our 100' X 72' living room window. At that time Darrell provided brochures from Johnson Window Films of window tint samples and the brochures clearly stated that we would receive a warranty form upon completion of the work - which we never received. Two years later the seal broke on our living room window which we had replaced by Express Mobile Window Company and who worked with Sun Stoppers (Darrell Kirkley) to reinstall the film at an additional cost of $200 and again didn't receive the warranty form. In June of 2012 the seal on the second window seal failed. Since the repalcement window warranty was negated by the applying of the film, on June 29th Express Mobile Window Company offered to contact Darrell Kirkley and work with his insurance company to get the window replaced. Mr Kirkley was non responsive. Finally my wife got a hold of Mr Kirkley on Oct 8th regarding window replaement and requested a copy of our warranty. When asked why we didn't receive the warranty form Mr. Kirkley said he hasn't had a window seal failure since 2008 so he doesn't give out warranty's. On Oct 15th we contacted Johnson Window Films only to find out Mr. Kirkley hasn't purchased their product since 2007 and that they would have issue with Mr. Kirkley representing someone else's product as their's. We were able to get a hold of Mr. Kirkley again on Oct 22nd who said he used Sun Tech Tinting and he had all of the warranty paper work although to date we have not received anything. Even though we would like our window replaced Mr. Kirkley did offer $500 less $25 deductable towards replacing our window but again we haven't received anything from Mr Kirkley, Sun Stoppers or his insurance company. " WE JUST WANT THIS RESOLVED".

Glenn and team were fantastic. He showed up for the consult on Wednesday. He was prompt and gave suggestions based on the problems I was having. Scheduled installation on Friday. He showed up 30 mins early and was very professional. They were tidy and efficient. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Rob at Sun Stoppers Lake Norman tinted our new Honda Pilot. He was heavily referred from our dealer; that coupled with great reviews on Angie's list made the decision easy. Rob was very punctual and gave us a no haggle quote over the phone. We were able to schedule our appointment a couple days later. The tinting only took a couple of hours and we are VERY satisfied with the work! The night of the service, a small imperfection formed on one of our windows - Rob was very kind to fix this the very next day.. he even mentioned if we were not totally satisfied that we could bring it back and he would apply a whole new film to that window. Hands down, Sun Stoppers are total professionals and stand by their work. I would recommend them to anyone!!

We had used Darrell when we first moved to Charlotte to tint a number of windows for us. We ended up changing out the original windows for vinyl replacement. This year we used him again to tint other windows in our house. Darrell, as usual, did an excellent job in a very professional manner. He was prompt, neat, and worked within our schedule. We would not hesitate to use him again.

They did a good job tinting my car windows.

The tech performing the installation had a rough go of it. After finishing the rear window and upon our inspection we found that he had trapped dog fur between the tint and glass. He removed the tint, cleaned the glass and package tray, and re-applied the tint. In doing so he damaged the headliner. He was very upset, called his boss and explained what happened. His boss instructed him to discount the job, and to assure us that the damage would be taken care of to our satisfaction. The owner contacted us on a regular basis, wanting to get the repair underway. Ultimately he came to my place of employment, picked the car up and took it to an upholstry shop and had the repair performed. He returned with the car, explained how the repair was done and confirmed that it was to my satisfaction. This business owner went above & beyond in my opinion. They definately take their reputation seriously. I would HIGHLY recommend them for window tinting!

I walked in on a Saturday morning with no appointment and they took my truck straight back even though there were already two cars being worked on. I was there only an hour if that, time flies when you're kicked back in a recliner watching TV. **I'm writing this on the day of the install so I will update if needed.

Showed up for my app't was taken right in. They told me it would take approximately 2 hrs. I sat in the recliner and watched NCIS. After about 1 hr, my car was down. Not a bubble, spot anywhere. Extremely happy.

Very fair price, high quality materials, completed the job while I waited. I was assured the film would cure perfectly (which it did). And if it hadn't, I was told they would immediatley make it right. They have a very comfortable waiting lounge and the staff was friendly and professional. I would definitley give them my future business and recommend them to my friends.

Matt was waiting for me when I arrived home. We discussed various films because I wanted something that would keep the bright sun from fading the fabric and the hardwoods, but I didn't want the darkness to be too noticeable from the outside. We decided on one level of film and Matt installed it. He did not like how it looked on the window because there was some sticking of the film. So he removed it and replaced it with another. Matt still was not satisfied and we decided to go with a darker film and he installed that. Three times was a charm. Matt kept apologizing for the length of time and reduced the $100 cost by 10%. It is very refreshing to have someone work on your home and want it to look like he would want it in his home. I would highly recommend Sun Stoppers.

Mike was punctual, professional, knowledgeable and well priced. He was a pleasure to work with and I would definitely recommend his work.

I made an appointment in advance and when I arrived the took my SUV straight in and had it done in 20 minutes. The person working that day explained the different tints and their prices and once finished explained the short and long term care of the windows. I was very happy with the experience and would use them again.

We hired Mr. Kirkley for the first installation. Again, he was prompt, professional and did an excellent job with what we believe are quality materials. He explained how to care for the wndow tinting and was open to any and all questions. We decided to do another portion of our home and did not hesitate to call him. We also requested that he measure our sun porch for solar shades, which we will be installing in the future.

They picked up my car and took it to their shop. They finished the job when they promised and did a fantastic job. I would recommend them to anyone looking for great quality window tinting.

We received an estimate on 3/31/10 and decided to have the work done on 4/9/10. I contacted Jason and the only day we had available to have the work done was on 4/13/10. Jason said he would order the material and start the work on the 13th about 9:00 - 9:30AM. I received a call from Jason on the 13th at 8:45 and he informed me he would be at the house at 9:30. He arrived at 9:20 ready to install the tinting. The installation was completed by 2PM. Jason sat with us and went over the warranty papers, care and maintenace and what we could expect in the next couple of days. The best part was the price above was below the original estimate after I mentioned Angies list.

They are professional. I was very happy with the work. Everything worked as he said it would. I was having problems with fading and you can already see the improvement. I was very happy with his work.

They are very professional and very clean. In and out in a reasonable amount of time. The finished job looks great. Did a real good job of cleaning up after the job too.

Sun Stoppers was recommended by Scott Clark Toyota as the place where they have all of their window tinting done. I called and was told that if I could bring my car over in an hour, it could be done while I waited or I could come back in 2 hours to pick it up. I waited in a cool, well-furnished living room type area with recliners, flatscreen TV, wireless internet, and bottled water. Everyone was professional, polite, and got the job done.

Overall, we were very pleased with the company. We called in the morning and made an appointment for noon that day. They were done by 4PM. In the process, they were helpful in explain the tint options. They also have a very nice office to wait in if you choose.

Everything was fine. They didn't show up when they were suppose to, but came quickly when they realized their mistake.
