Pleasant, helpful, timely---followed through with the report the next day

Thorough and professional inspection, took time to go over the report and show me any areas of concern.

We sent the company an email and they replied via phone within 24 hours. They explained the process and gave us some open dates. They emailed the contract to us and answered our questions we had about the general inspection. Michael Lewis arrived 30 minutes early and promptly started the inspection. He took pictures of issues he found, answered our questions while we followed him around the house and sent us the report within 6 hours after the inspection.

Excellent. Arrived on time, provided detailed review with pictures, stayed at home for over 5 hours, discussed all issues in detail.

The inspections were very thorough and for both properties he found items that could have been problematic if not addressed. The home I recently purchased had been inspected twice prior by another firm and Michael found a mold problem in a remote part of a closet that was part of a larger problem. This could have been a serious health issue as we have 3 children under the age of 3. He prides himself in finding the "ah-ha's" and has made himself available as our remodel continues. Calls are returned promptly and reports on done at the time of inspection and you do not have to wait long for the report to be sent.

Having Mike look over the house was the best thing we could have done. He was able to help us understand the sources of the humidity problem and provide suggested options for repair - "must do" vs "nice to have". We were able to take care of the problems ourselves and in the long run, Mike's visit probably saved us hundreds of dollars!

I initially id'd 3 inspectors from Angie's List to check into. I spoke to Michael at Mecklenburg Inspections first. He was very professional and answered all of my questions. I then called one of the other inspectors and felt that Michael was more professional and helpful so I called Meck Inspections back and made that appointment. Didn't bother to call the 3rd. Michael arrived at our home about 15 minutes prior to our appointment (nice surprise!) and he was prepared to go to work. He spent the better part of 4 hours thoroughly inspecting our home. He was very respectful and left our home the way he found it. Before leaving, Michael spent 20 minutes or so going over his findings with me and my husband just to make sure that we understood what would be on the report that we received in email form (and subsequently a hard copy in the mail in a nice folder). His inspection included details of necessary repairs along with pictures, very helpful. Was a very good experience and I would recommend Mecklenburg Inspections to anyone in need of this service.

He was very thorough and when done, went over everything he found with me. He sent an email report that evening with pictures of things that need to be addressed. He also encouraged me to call if I thought of questions later.

Contacted the company on Thursday afternoon and was able to get an appointment for the next morning at 8:00. Arrived right at 8:00 and Michael spent 4 hours doing the inspection, reviewing information with us and having a few suggestions for enhancements. He was very pleasant throughout the whole experience, had a great friendly approach to doing the job. Was extremely thorough, and I am sure his inspection and feedback will assist us greatly in preparing our house for today's tough market.

We were very happy with Michael's comprehensive inspection of the home. The process took approximately 3.5 hours as anticipated and he thoroughly walked me through the items noted. Michael was very professional, timely and knowledgeable. The seller's agent of the home even said she would use him next time as he was so thorough.

I wanted an inspection so that I would know of any repairs I needed to do to keep the house in good shape and to not have any surprises when I start a remodeling project. Michael arrived exactly on time and spent a lot of time explaining things to me and answering all of my questions even if they were a bit outside normal inspection questions. He gave me advice on maintenance and repairs that I could do myself. He looked into things that I thought could be issues and reassured me if they weren't and gave me advice on what I could do to improve things without much expense. I learned a lot from him and gained piece of mind and also a manageable to do list. It was a great experience and I would recommend a periodic home inspection for anyone who has been in their house for a few years and isn't sure how it is holding up or just wants to be conscientious about maintenance. Michael spent about 6 hours with me doing the inspection, writing the report, and answering my questions and never took a break even though I wanted one, he is very dedicated.

For years I was in real estate and worked with many home inspectors. Mike is one of the most thorough and professional that I have worked with. He caught a potentially significant problem (excessive moisture coming through a slab) that I wouldn't expect even 5 out of 100 inspectors to catch. Mike performed our home inspection on an older (1947) home in the Dilworth area. Without question, I would rate this company's services as excellent. We were on a short turnaround due to seller requirements, and they squeezed us into their schedule, did a very thorough job with the inspection and report (which they delivered that same night,) and stayed late at the end of the day to answer our questions. In addition, they referred us to a trustworthy structural engineer and we've called them back with several questions since the inspection. We're new to the area and don't have a lot of contacts to make recommendations to us - we relied on Angie's List references and Mecklenburg Inspections was a great find.

Working with this company was a delight. They are professional and easy going. I changed appointments on them twice due to contract renegotiations and they accommodated the date on the contract. We were able to complete the inspection yesterday and file the repair list to the sellers all within a day. Typically this is not the case but we satisfied the contract and my client was extremely grateful. Anne and Mike are top notch and I will certainly pass out their information to other clients. Mike's inspection was thorough and detailed with pictures that helped out my client.

I could not have been more pleased with Michael's services. His recommendations and advice have really helped me in negotiating with the Seller and getting a fair repair request.

Mr. Lewis did a pre-drywall inspection of a home under construction. The inspection took about an hour, and was thorough. There were three relatively minor deficiencies noted, which were documented using a digital camera. The deficiencies were discussed with the project superintendent and myself before he left, and Mr. Lewis also discussed the desirability to ground a gas line before completing the house. His report was completed that night and sent to the builder superintendent and myself via e-mail, followed by a mailed report the next day. We plan to use Mecklenburg Inspections for the pre-closure inspection when the house is completed.

Overall, the work was good. He came when stated and answered the questions that I had. He treats people with care and does not talk down to them about items they are not aware of. Overall, I would recommend again.

Mr. Lewis did a complete and thorough inspection of my home. Built less than a year ago, the home warranty is about to expire. He first spent time talking to me, asking if I had any particular concerns, or problems, and then proceeded to inspect the entire house inside and out. He was efficient, quiet, non-intrusive and extremely polite. He even took time to say hey to our dog! Each time I thought of a concern, he gladly stopped to discuss the issue with me. In the end, he came up with a number of repairs. By the time he left he had gone over each and every finding, recommended the type of repair needed to comply with building codes, as well as warning us what may be deemed an "acceptable" fix by the builder. Emailed copy of the report received that evening and a written report with pictures was in the mail 3 days later. We would recommend him again without reservation, and have already forwarded his name on to family and friends in his service area. Excellent Angie's list example.

The inspector arrived on time and was there about 3 hours. He did a great job finding things that needed attention that we would have never thought of or caught. Very professional and the report that he later submitted was easy to understand.
