Description of Work: Contacted this provider to get an idea of what it would cost to fix the Maytag Centennial washer that I had purchased only 19 months before.When I told him what the make/model & problem was he was totally upfront & advised me that it was not worth fixing , and that if I did decide to repair the washer , it would be very costly & end up with me likely purchasing a new one anyway.We took his advice & purchased a new LG washer the next day.He is to be commended for his honesty & professionalism.Would not hesitate to contact him in the future if I need an appliance repaired.

Description of Work: This man did a great job. We called him, and he came out the very next day. He immediately knew what was wrong with our dryer and fixed it. He said a lot of people get rid of dryers when they can be fixed. We were going to buy a new dryer but that was unnecessary. We also had a blockage in our dryer vent line leading from the dryer to the outdoors. He recommended a dryer vent person who came out that same day and cleaned all that out. Fast and easy service. May have even prevented a house fire. No new dryer. We were very happy. I would most definitely use him again if needed.

Description of Work: My dryer motor was running but was not spinning or had no heat. He diagnosed it over the phone after I gave him Maker/Model #. He was punctual and fixed it in the amount of time he said he would (15 minutes!). Will use again for any problems with washer or dryer.

Description of Work: A sensor went bad in my LG washer. I called on Thursday, they came out Monday and had washer repaired in 20 minutes. They told me they always keep every part in stock so they can repair whatever is wrong on the first trip. Now that is service!!

Description of Work: Our 20-plus-year-old dryer was squeaking badly. Matthews Appliance replaced the broken drum bearing and frayed belt, and cleaned, lubed and adjusted everything to make the old dryer hum along quietly, almost like new again. Prompt, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous service -- will definitely recommend Matthews Appliance to all of my friends.

Description of Work: Repaired Samsung Dryer. They were very prompt, had the parts that were needed and fixed the dryer. I was very pleased with the outcome.

Description of Work: Refused to work on my washing machine over the phone because Whirlpool (the manufacturer) "would not make quality parts" for this machine (which is a Kenmore Oasis). He did not ask what the machine was doing (malfunctioning control panel) or provide any other alternatives to get it repaired. He sounded somewhat arrogant about my machine versus his business reputation instead of attempting to help me with a relatively common machine. I am sure the owner does good work (from the reviews) but I would never call this repair service again for anything else just based on this interaction. Also, the Matthews Appliance website says it repairs ALL makes and models of washers and dryers. Based on my interaction with them, their website is misleading.

Description of Work: We called Matthews Appliance because they are located close to our residence and had a coupon advertised on Angie's List. We spoke with the repair technician who informed us that they would not be able to honor the coupon (even though we were within the guidelines of it), he gave us a quote over the phone (which was more than we ended up paying because the issue he believed it to be was not actually what it was) and he could not give us a definite time to come by to look at the washing machine in person. Overall, we were not pleased with their professionalism or responsiveness. We decided to go with another company who appreciated our business and we will return to that other company should we have any issues with our major appliances in the future.
