Handyman Services--The English Handyman

Did a good enough job that I'm not going to replace my doors.

We had the handyman fix some wood rot around our front door and window. It was a fairly complicated bit of repairwork work and he did a great job. He was prompt, courteous and professional. We will definitely use him again in the future for other projects around the house.

It wasn't very good. I wasn't happy. It wasn't a very thorough job. My impression was that he was supposed to be replacing and repairing caulking. It lasted only about 3 months and then I ended up having to redo it myself. It felt like it was a rush job.

The service turned out excellent. I was impressed with Noel’s level of professionalism and how personable he was.

He came early, started working immediately installing a set of blinds, then moved to other areas. He was very pleasant and we also talked while we worked, he showed me a few things and explained how to do other things so I could take care of them in the future. Really nice guy, fast worker, and knowledgeable. Once our next set of projects starts, I will definitely contact again. Great deal!

Noel arrived on time, and quickly began the job. He protected my furniture and carpet from dry wall dust, in no time at all he had repaired the hole, and painted and matched the existing "popcorn" ceiling. He even did some touch up work on other parts of the ceiling. Noel is very competent, pleasant, and did an outstanding job in the time specified. I really enjoyed sitting and talking to him while he worked (and my talking didn't slow him down or delay him). Another nice thing, Noel didn't even charge me for the supplies as was originally arranged, nice touch!!!

He was good and pleasant to work with. There was a communication problem with the work I needed him to do. I asked him to check with me once the work was done and he did not. I asked him to fix the wardrobe but he worked on the closet instead. He did not confirm this with me. But other than that, the work was done well.

Noel came today to do my handyman jobs, and it was a good experience. He had something come up that made it impossible to arrive at the time we had set but he called to let me know he would be late and gave me an estimated time of arrival. I had a variety of things - hang a Venetian blind, fix a leaky faucet, hang a shelf, etc, and he did them all well. I had hoped the front door could be painted but the weather was drizzly and damp, so he will be returning to do that when the weather will permit it to dry properly. I definitely expect to call him again when I need a handyman.

He was okay. He was inexpensive but he was sloppy and didn’t clean up after himself. He was good, he was polite, he was gracious and all that but I wasn’t a hundred percent happy. He came on the day I scheduled it first but he got sick on that day and so he rescheduled for about two weeks later. I had to buy supplies, which was fine and I did not have problems with that. The big deal was for $249, I paid him about $130 more for equipment and material. It was a good price and I really feel like I got my money’s worth but I didn’t feel good about it. He did what he could do in the time allotted but I was unhappy and felt ambivalent about it. I would probably use him again but I will be clearer about my instructions on what I want next time.

It is unprofessional to run specials for services you either do not intend to render, or are unable to book. If you are going to advertise, it would be well advised to dedicate time daily to return calls and book appointments. UPDATE: After speaking with them, I believe demand for services seems to have taken them by surprise. They seem to be booking 60+ days out. I have no reason to believe their quality of service is anything but top notch. I would have booked with them, but my needs are more immediate. I updated my rating to reflect this.

Noel is VERY is prompt with his responses via email. He does all he can to work his schedule around the needs of his clients, which was VERY appreciated by this two career, two small kids family, one dog family! He's comfortable around dogs (ours is pretty well-behaved). Dog door is LOVED by our lab, who's seen the box sitting outside by the garage door for six months! We're excited that there won't be anymore scratch marks on the outside of the garage door...and it looks sharp with its new paint job. The bathroom ceilings both have lights and vents which Noel expertly navigated around...no spills...looking great. The small bathroom (25 sq feet) has lots of obstacles including crown moldings, base moldings, and a light...not to mention the toilet and sink. I did remove all the switchplates, shelving, mirror, toilet paper ring, towel ring, etc, prior to Noel's arrival. It looks well better than average...no paint on the crown molding. However, there are some spots that I'll need to touch up later due to lack of coverage, some touch up of the base molding, some small streaks of rose colored paint on the hardwood floor that I was able to remove with minimal effort. Caveat: I am a detail oriented painter with super high standards and its a small not well lit half bath...so I'd bet that many folks would have considered this a perfect job. I most appreciated Noel's prompt, effective communication, on time arrival, ability to complete his tasks easily within the day, and fully clean up after himself. He offered multiple times for me to call and he'd fix anything I didn't find exactly right...the small, small issues in the half bath are super easy for me to fix...and I'd never make him come back out here to do them. It's just a great relief to have all done that tasks on my long time to do list done so quickly with no remaining mess!!! I WOULD hire Noel again to complete the list of tasks that I just can't seem to get done over months!!

Noel was awesome. He was on-time and once I showed him what I needed done he went to task and did a great job in less than an hour. I will have him back to work on some other projects for sure.

I was expecting him on a Wednesday morning in early September--when I called to see what happened he said his wife had texted me night before (I did not get it) and that he had pneumonia--I wished him well and have not heard from him since so I would like to transfer my payment to another handyman on the list.

Thoroughly enjoyed having Noel around for the day. He's friendly, respectful, prompt, courteous and does a fantastic job! Great sense of humor and a nice singing voice as well. I highly recommend Noel. I've already discussed future projects with him!!

He was right on time, very affable and willing to do whatever was needed, despite having been sick for two months with double pneumonia. We had the materials on hand and he went right to work.

I hired someone else to do the work and I would like if Angie' list could give me my money back since I bought from them.

Was on time and performed the job in a short time period. The installation was done well and I'm very satisfied with the work done.

He didn't do any of the work needed but was prompt and professional when returning my calls.

Noel came out and looked at a window with wood rot after I bought the one-hour big deal. He was knowledgeable and gave me a fair estimate on our other windows. We chose to have him fix all the windows. We are very happy with the outcome and feel the price was extremely reasonable. Our little dog was very found of him. We will certainly contact him for any other projects that we may need done.

That was the only one I've ever done I didn't like. He was very prompt and friendly, but he was re caulking our bathroom and he made kind of a big mess that we had to scrape down afterwords. He also left a big mess on the walls that we had to slowly off. Furthermore, he didn't seal the caulk, so I've got molds coming back.

Noel was very professional and did a very nice job on all of the projects we asked him to do. It was a great deal for the amount of work we had completed.

As mentioned above, everything was performed to high degree of quality. Though I wasn't able to meet Noel in person, my renter told me he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in getting both issues resolved.

Handyman Services--The English Handyman was great. He was a really nice guy and really great.

He had all the necessary tools and ladder and did an excellent job in measuring and centering pictures and one mirror. I used the 1hour $49 handyman special. I have additional work for which I scheduled time for him to return to hang light fixtures and a ceiling a fan.
