Handyman Services--The English Handyman

He kept canceling & rescheduling. Never could get him to show up to do the work.

I provided him with a replacement toilet flap/flush valve assembly - the part in the toilet that opens and closes the flushing mechanism. It took him more than 2 hours to do it. And after he left I realized that he had never replaced the flush valve. He actually took the replacement flush valve assembly ( that costs may be 10 $) with himself. The old valve was still in place inthe toilet. And whatever he did in the toilet did not work. It was leaking again, and I had to get a Plumber to fix the problem, and spent another 100 $ there.

It was a horrible experience. He got here to look at the needs I had and we scheduled the service. He did not show up for the appointment. We did reschedule, but again he did not show up. Angie?s List connected with him and he said he had an accident and that he would reschedule. I called him a few times, but I never received a call back for scheduling.

I plan to have him come back now that the weather is getting better.

They were painting some of the outside and the paint didn’t match with what was currently there. Other than that, the work was fine.

He was good. He communicated well. He got in contact with me pretty quickly. It seemed to be a good experience.

I had to wait a long time since the company had several customers ahead of me, but everything went well aside from that. The handyman was very friendly and open, did a great job, and didn't leave behind any messes while he worked.

We had set up an appointment and he never showed up. It went back and forth several times and he has yet to show up and get the work done. This had gone on for about a year and he never did come out.

It was great. He hung some very difficult artwork for us. He has a background in art, so he knew how to hang pictures well. He did everything extremely well and within the time.

Susan got back with me right away as I had left a message saying we were hoping against hope we could get the work done in the next 3 weeks. She was going to get us in 3 weeks which we really appreciated it, but she called us when there was an opening that came up as she knew it was important to us.. Noel called before he came at the appointed time to let us know he was on the way. He did an excellent job on staining the deck/rails and replacing the rotted wood, paying attention to the littlest details. It was a pleasure doing business with "The English Handyman" not just for the great work he did, but because he was also a great person to having working for you.

He came on time, worked hard, and I was pleased with his work. though a friend has offered to redo part of the wooden panel on the lower part of the screened door, as the top edge was left roughly cut. This will make me happier with the details of that repair. I will call the English Handyman again if I have need of his services.

Everything went fine. He explained the work in detail. The estimate was right on. I was pleased and would use him again.

Noel was punctual, and a friendly, courteous, knowledgeable guy. I would use him in the future. I was amazed at how much he was able to get done in the short amount of time we had him!

I haven't been able to get in contact with them and the deal has now expired.

I had him clean and seal the grout in one bathroom. He did not do anything in the second bathroom. I paid for three hours of service and he only spent about an hour on the one bathroom.

Noel was very professional and, on top of that, made the work fun, too. He came out multiple times to complete the work, and it was always easy to get in touch with him. We're already talking about what the next task list might involve. I'd definitely hire Noel again.

Never showed for an 8:30 am appointment on March 14, 2014 and never called. I followed up with a phone call around 10:30, left a message asking for a call back - nothing. Sent an email mid afternoon, and haven't heard back.

Even though I had to wait for the services because he was booked, I am glad I did. He was very professional, did a great job, and I would recommend him to anyone that needs his services.

Hired Noel to refinish walls in master bathroom and paint, replace crown molding and baseboard. The job entailed only part of the bathroom where a shower had been replaced. He was squeezing me in when he could because he was overbooked and I was willing to work with him. His first attempt...the walls were not smooth and the paint bubbled. Noel said he would come back and do over. Second attempt...the same thing. I complained not only about the poor workmanship, but the waste of time and paint after his two attempts. When trying to force in a baseboard, a tile was cracked and another tile popped out. He swore he did not crack the tile, but it was not cracked before. The base board he attempted to install even cracked from jamming it in and he just filled it with putty. Meanwhile, by forcing the baseboard in the small space, one of the tiles popped out. Again, he denied doing it, but it was so very obvious what caused the damage. Noel did offer to fix, but after many failed attempts and damage happening as a result of his work, I declined. No money was paid, however, now I have to hire a tile guy to repair tiles and still have to have the original work done.

Had the living room walls and ceiling painted, everything was great. Fixed grout and caulk in the shower. Since we had leftover paint, asked him to paint the bathroom ceiling. Due to the steam from the shower the popcorn was loose. I wasn't surprised when it started to crack and come loose. I sent pictures and he said he could fix it. I tried several times to call and even emailed but never received a call back to return and fix the ceiling. I would have used him again but the lack of response has made me look elsewhere. Very disappointing as did a great job elsewhere.

Called only to find that voice mail full so emailed. No response!!!!! Out close to $50. I donated to him. Not happy!

He came on schedule and did satisfactory work.

The door was NOT installed properly. The problems: - Broke the wires on door alarm contacts during removal of old door and left alarm not working. - Door and frame were not installed level or plumb. - Did not use shims; instead just screwed through the jamb so door frame was stretched and bowed. (I supplied two packs of shims that were not used.) - Installed a 2x4 under the brick mould but nothing under the threshold. It was not supported and would bend when stepped on. - Door latch strike plates not installed correctly so door did not seal against weather stripping. (Lots of air leakage around the door.) - No insulation or caulking used between jamb and studs to seal out air. (I provided a can of foam insulation that went unused.) - Used old casing so miters did not match. (I had provided new casing.) The door has since been removed and reinstalled correctly by someone else. We purchased two of the big deal coupons ? one for us for the door installation and a second as a gift. We are requesting a FULL refund of BOTH the deal coupons for a total refund of $498. Unfortunately we will have to eat the additional cost of time, labor and materials for reinstallation. Also, to address my ratings above: Price: We purchased an 8 hour coupon. He was here for only 4 or 5 hours. Quality: Well... see above. Responsiveness / Punctuality: it took multiple phone calls and email to finally get him scheduled. Professionalism: He was sick when he came here and should not have been working that day.

|Last week on Jan. 7th when I'd still heard nothing I asked him to e-mail me an appointment or to refund my money. Today is the 15th and I've heard nothing back. I no longer wish an appointment, just a refund. They obviously got more business than they could handle with their big Deal and Living Social coupons they offered. However, it is very easy to schedule appointments and return call, even if the appointment is scheduled months in advance. Extremely disappointed as this client was from Angie's List.
