Clean Sweep Chimney Solutions

My dryer vent on the outside of the house did not look right and I was afraid animals could get into the house. The first visit was an inspection and they discovered that the vent was disconnected in the crawl space. They could not repar it that first day but came next day a took care of it.

We have been doing business with them for awhile. We are very pleased with their work.

To my surprise, he did not charge me for his visit stating he that he had not actually fixed anything. I would most definitely call them the next time I have a problem with my fireplace. It is very unusual, in this day and age, for serviceman not charge just to come out and look at the problem.

A Clean Sweep took my phone call and sent a person out quickly. They did a professional job. Because I need extensive repairs -- cost about $2,500 -- I did not ask A Clean Sweep to do the repairs, But if/when I do the repairs, I will probably call A Clean Sweep to get them to do it. There are some other repairs, to keep rain water from coming in, that would cost $250. I may ask A Clean Sweep to do that sooner.

I was totally impressed by the service that Mike provided. He arrived a few minutes earlier than scheduled and got right to the job of cleaning out the fireplace. He did an excellent job despite the smell of the decomposing squirrels and was very careful as to protect the carpet from any soot or nesting materials from the fireplace. I believe he provided extra service in performing the job and I don't think he charged extra for the extra work. I would definitely use him again, if I ever needed his services again.

They did a nice job cleaning our wood stove and chimney. This is a dirty job and they were very clean and did not mess up our home.

Successful venture - took several attempts to get the final solution - supposedly the normal process to fix certain chimney leak scenarios. Very satisfied with A Clean Sweep and their employees.

On Oct. 5th they cleaned and inspected the chimney. They found several cracks in the crown. They explained that water was entering the system, and would cause more expensive repairs later if I did not have it replaced. They showed me the cracks with a digital photo. They explained that the new crown would be made of a more durable material, so I would not have problems in the future. I decided to have them return and replace the crown. They explained things very well and helped me to avoid a more costly repair in the future. I would definitely recommend this company.

Called for Inspection / Cleaning of fireplace. The technician checked out the fireplace and showed me how to operate the gas logs. Told me chimney was very clean and did not need cleaning, so did not peform or charge me for that portion. Performed an inspection including the chimney cap on roof. Recomended repair of the crown and flashing on the roof. Would recommend this company to perform chimney services.

The two gentlemen from A Clean Sweep arrived promptly at 12:30pm, the same day we contacted Wanda. While one went up on the roof to inspect the chimney cap, the other came inside and fixed the lining in the fireplace. After fixing the lining, he also removed a small nest that was in the flue, and made sure the damper was working properly. He made sure the chimney was clear of wildlife, and closed the flue. Then both sweeps went up on the roof and replaced the chimney cap. They showed me the old cap, which was too small for the chimney opening and was leaning inside the opening, allowing access for any birds or squirrels. The replacement cap was the right size and material, and was bolted to the chimney. Both gentlemen were professional, courteous, and friendly. The work was done quickly and efficiently. Thanks to A Clean Sweep, we feel a lot safer, and our evenings by the fireplace won't involve frantic long-tailed rodents any more!

The overall job was good... They were very professional and very polite... My wife liked their customer service! The technician knew what he was doing and he even pointed out some stuff that needed to be taken care of in the future, but didn't pressure us to make a move on it at that time. I appreciated it and will probably call them again to take care of those issues... The one big issue that I did have though was with the Gutter Cleaning. When I called I asked that they clean out my down spouts so even with clean gutters, I didn't want them to back up because the water didn't drain... Well, they DID NOT clean my down spouts and about 2 weeks after they cleaned my gutters we got our first big rain storm, and the water was over flowing and not coming out the bottom of the down spouts... I don't know how difficult it would have been to punch a hose down through the down spout to make sure that it was clear before they said the job was done... Either way though, I will not use them for gutter cleaning again, but will DEFINATLEY use them for chimney cleaning...

They did a fine job. They were right on time. They followed up and were very professional.

They swept the chimney and then they capped the chimney. We had them come out because we were hearing birds in the chimney. They told us they were swifts, and that they were a protected species, which I did not know, and if the swifts had laid eggs in the nest, they wouldn’t be able to sweep the chimney, so we waited until we felt like it was safe and then they came out and swept the chimney. They were pretty knowledgeable. They also looked at the duct work for our dryer vent and we were thinking about replacing that. They told us not to do it as it was working fine. They told me how to clean it out myself so I didn’t have to spend money. We had a positive experience with them. We would use them again in the future.

I found this company through Angie's List. They were prompt to make the appointment and their tech showed up on time. He inspected and chimney and said it really did not need to be cleaned since I have gas logs which were not used very much and we do not burn wood in the fireplace. I appreciated his honesty. However, we recently purchased the home and wanted to be sure everything was totally clean, so I asked him to clean it anyway. He also cleaned the dryer vent which definitely did need cleaning. He repaired a minor problem the builder had created by not property attaching the vent pipe (no additional charge for this). He did an excellent job cleaning up after himself. I am very pleased. I believe that we received an excellent value for the money. He also found a problem with our chimney cap and took photos so that I could understand the problem and show the photos to my husband. We will use this company again in the near future to fix an issue with our chimney cap.

Very quick responses from estimate to completion. Techs were very professional and cleaned up very well after the job. Very solid outfit.

I called about possibly having my chimney cap reinstalled or replaced as the old one fell off during our most recent storm. When reading other reports on Angie's List, I noticed they also cleaned gutters, so I asked about that as well. I did mention there was a tree limb hanging on the chimney, too. Paul told me he could have someone at my house within an hour for an estimate. In about 30 minutes, the technicians arrived. They looked at the old chimney cap and told me they could reinstall it, but it was most likely compromised because it was bent and rusty. They told me about a stainless steel cap that could be used to replace it and showed me one similar to it on my neighbor's roof. I asked a few questions as I was curious about how it was attached, and was pleased with the response. Also, after reviewing the gutters, I learned that my gutter guards were working great, but that pinestraw was built up on the top of them, and that's why water was flowing over the gutters. Rather than having to clean the gutters out, they could simply blow them off. I was quite pleased with that news. Finally, they said since they would already be up there, they could just lob off the tree limb so it wouldn't interfere with the cap or chimney. I felt the estimate was very fair and I asked them to take care of all three issues. In less than an hour and a half after I called, I had a new chimney cap installed, my gutters were rain ready and the tree limb was at the curb. They also disposed of the debris from the roof and on top of the gutters and blew off the porch, sidewalk, deck and patio. I couldn't ask for less of a headache than that! I will definitely use this company again, and I will recommend them to my family and friends.

They came out on two different days. They were fine all the way around. I liked the fact that they explained everything to me, but I didn't like the fact that they did not e-mail me the pictures with the inspection report like they said they would. I actually had to follow up with them on that.

We have an older home and moved in about a year and a half ago & we hadn't ever had the fireplace cleaned or serviced. They did a great job & were very professional. Also they were very informative as well as helpful to all questions that we had. Will definitely use them again!!

Two workers showed up right on time. One looked the job over and gave me a quote. We negotiated a little and agreed upon a price. They got to work and finished in less than an hour. They bagged up the debris, and then cleaned off the deck and front porch. They were very professional and did quality work.

The did fine work on our chimney. They had to do work inside and out. They replaced bricks and other things. The only issue was that they put our gas logs in the wrong way and we did not use the fireplace until 6 months later. They were very clean. However, we later discovered that they replaced the logs the wrong way and black soot spewed into our house.

The work was done within the time frame and did a great job.
