Clean Sweep Chimney Solutions

The experience with Darryl from "A Clean Sweep" was excellent. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and made sure we understood what was needed and provided pictures of what was happening on the chimney tops.

The guys who came out to give me an estimate were like "the boys next door", very professional, yet realistic about affordability. They made suggestions, provided very quick written estimate with pictures of chimney cap options. They referred me to owner for additional info on specific cap I wanted. The owner provided me with additional information about the quality of several caps and his prior experience in customer satisfaction with those caps. The service guy did have to reschedule his job time due to delay in on-site job he was working. By the time the service man completed my job, it was blistering hot on the roof. He did not complain and did an excellent job. There was no mess; I couldn't even tell he was there.

Our gutters and drains were very clogged; we even had little trees starting to take root. The guys came out, spent time clearing out everything, and even replaced some out of reach security lights. Afterward, they cleaned up everything! With the heavy rains that we've had this past month, it's a relief to no longer have the gutters backed up and overflowing onto the front steps. We have used this company in the past, and have always been pleased with their work. We plan on calling them back again next year!

They were great, they were thorough. They were even able to take several pictures of the cracks to show us. We are going to use them again.

We had a recent chimney fire that we extinquished rather quickly ourselves with water. We noticed a little cracking afterwards so decided to call A CLEAN SWEEP to inspect it and clean it. They discovered a lot of cracking all the way from top to bottom from the fire/water damage. The produced a qoute for removing the clay liner and installing a stainless steel one. They redid the crown and also removed and replaced bricks within the fireplace. They installed a cap once done. The entire process was handled with great care to not make a mess. The gentleman that serviced us were very respectful of myself as well as my home and belongings. They cleaned up very well once the job was complete. They were offered much educational and informative advice for going forward (that i wish i had before!!) I plan to use them annually for inspections and cleaning as needed to prevent this type of damage from occurring in the future. Highly recommend, truly A-Plus service and expertise.

Overall, the service was excellent. We were also given an estimate on having our gutters cleaned. That will also be done this week.

Except for not receiving the before and after pictures via email, everything went very smoothly. They kept me informed and did the work on time with no surprises.

We scheduled an appointment with a lady to have someone come out as soon as available. She got us in on a Saturday at 8AM. The representative, Mike was great. He showed up on time and did his job quickly and efficiently. We were also impressed with his knowledge, and his 17 years of experience. He kept the house clean and answered all of our questions. On a side note, I have spent the past few weekends going through old paperwork from my previous residence. At the old location I had a fireplace and had it cleaned once. I was impressed with the service then, but couldn't remember the name of the company, which is why I turned to Angie's List to help me find someone for here. Sunday, the day after A Clean Sweep came out to do our service, I came across the receipt from their previous service at my old home...which made me laugh because that was the company I originally wanted to do the work.

I left a message for someone to call me to get an estimate. Wanda called me within less than 24 hours and she then had Paul call me. We agreed to have an inspection done in order to get an estimate to determine the extent and amount to do the repairs. After getting other estimates from other chimney repair companies, we felt A Clean Sweep was honest and thorough and did not recommend anything we didn't really need. The work was done just as Mike (who did the inspection) described. No mess at all. Work was scheduled and completed according to an agreed upon schedule. We highly recommend A Clean Sweep - Paul Cole and his crew!!

I had just had some foundation work done and was worried that the work may have shifted the chimney. I wanted to make sure thatthe interior lining was still intact and safe to use. The inspection didn't take long. I also asked about cleaning the chimney (has it had not been cleaned in a while) the gentleman could have told me it was necessary and charged me extra (I would never have known the difference) but he was honest and told me it was fine and I didn't need to worry.

However, it appears the damper is not the correct size for my fireplace. It rained today and approximately two inches of rain has come through the damper onto my fireplace inner and outer hearth. I placed buckets to capture the water and towels to soak up the water. I'm not happy about this because it was sprayed by my Pest company to prevent any more waterbugs from coming through, which means the chemicals are mixed in the water. Not good as I have a rash now from trying to clean it all up.

They were awesome. They were able to come the same day, they even called back to see if they could come sooner. They immediately removed the birds and the nest. They ended up not having the right cap with them so they left their broom in the chimney until they could return the next week with the proper cap. They installed it as explained and left a bill on my door. They are a model for any home service company.

They are coming out at a later time to replace the whole cap. They were professional and punctual. We are still waiting for them to replace the cap at a later date. UPDATE: the company came out and did the work and it looks good!

I had an old concrete chimney cap that would leak water into the hearth during heavy downpours. A Clean Sweep came out to give an estimate to replace the cap. BTW, the estimate was FREE, unlike most other companies in the area. An option of replacement caps were presented for us to pick from. After that, they came out and installed the new cap and made any necessary repairs. They did a great job, the cap looks great and we haven't had a drop of rain in the hearth since. Would definitely use again.

I called in the morning and she was able to have a team out by lunch time to clean out my gutters. She also made sure that I received the $10 discount. The team arrived on time and got right to work. They were done in less than an hour. As far as I know, everything was done as expected.

I called the company and they were very quick in their response, showing up within a few hours. Two representatives from the company came out and removed the fireplace seal to clean out the chimney. They removed two dead squirrels and then resealed the chimney, after spraying some deodorizer. I also got a quote to put on a chimney cap and to reseal the interior of the chimney so it could be converted to a wood-burning fireplace.I had been quoted $150 over the phone and an additional $10 because I called from Angie's list. This was the same price I paid when the services were complete. The quote for the caps was $450 and I later got an email quote for the re-line of over $4000. The website of the company was offering $99 for the same service I paid $140 for. As a percentage, that is a huge markup.I ended up buying caps from Home Depot for $65 and capping them chimney myself.

Mike conducted a thorough visual inpection of the fireplace and chimney from inside the house. He also inspected the chimney, flashing, crown and cap from the roof. He snapped pictures with a digital camera and was able to show me the condition of everything outside. He then inspected the dryer vent, showed me a picture of the accumulation inside it, and let me decide whether or not to have it cleaned. I told him to go ahead and to clean it out. I appreciated the way he handled this issue.

I initially contacted A Clean Sweep to take advantage of their $99 chimney cleaning service. While the rep was there for that appointment, I mentioned that we sometimes get rain coming into our firebox and asked him to take a deeper look. He confirmed that the inside of the chimney had no problems at all, then went up onto the roof. When he came down he showed me some pictures on his digital camera that showed quite clearly that the sill of our chimneytop was deeply cracked, causing rainwater to basically pour straight through our chimney like a funnel during moderate rainstorms. After cleaning out the chimney, we made an appointment for the following week to have the sill repaired. He arrived promptly and quickly went to work. When he was done he showed me the before and after pictures, explaining that he had rebuilt the entire sill and made it a full 2-3 inches thicker than the old one had been. We had a rainstorm a couple days ago that was equivalent to the type that normally brought water down into our firebox, and this time instead of rushing to get towels to avoid spillover into our family room, nary a drop came down the chimney! It was completely dry! I'm very pleased with A Chimney Sweep and will be sure to recommend them to anyone who needs chimney work done!
