We had new tenants moving into a rental property and our property manager requested we have the dryer vent cleaned. I contacted dryer vent wizard for a price and they told me they only provide estimates at the job site and not over the phone. The woman said she only did scheduling but could have a technician contact me if I wanted to speak to him prior to coming out. She did not mention any type of trip charge and said they did free estimates. I made an appointment for several days later. They provided an arrival window of 2-6pm and said they would call prior to arriving. I requested they contact me at least an hour prior to arriving because I would not be at the property where the cleaning was scheduled. They agreed. On the day of the service, I received a call at 1:45pm that the technican was approximately 15 mins away. I apologized and explained it would take me 35-40 mins to get to the property. He was very nice over the phone and very patient and told me to drive carefully and take my time :-) I met the technican at the property at 2:30pm. He looked at the outside vent and around the dryer and told me what he was measuring and what the recommendations were. He said there were no issues with the installation, the right venting was used and that it would just be a cleaning. He showed me the pricing for the dryer vent cleaning and said that it was a "roof" cleaning because our vent was on the roof and he would be on the roof to do the cleaning with a steel bristle brush to ensure the venting was fully cleaned. The standard price for a "roof" cleaning is $189 and he told me the prices go down from there depending on the length of the dryer vent (lowest price is $74). I agreed to the job and asked him about our primary residence and whether he ever found dead animals in dryer vents because I had an awful smell in my new dryer. He said that it happens and he was happy to go across town and take a look after he finished this cleaning and agreed to take off the trip charge ($39) for the rental property and the other residence. He also recommended a replacement ring in the vent ($25). I agreed to have both the cleaning and replacement part done. It took him a little over an hour to clean the vent and fully clean up. He appeared to do a good job cleaning the vent and did a great job cleaning up the property and putting everything as it was. He then drove down to the other property and replaced our outside vent cover with a pest proof cover and replaced the connection from the dryer to the wall. I got stuck at the rental property with our new tenant and it took me a little while to get down to the primary residence. When I arrived, he showed me pictures from the crawl space of a poorly installed dryer vent (my own opinion even with little experience with dryer vents) and the wrong type of dryer vent (soft foil). I previously had thought that the claims of incorrectly foil or plastic venting was overblown, but the technican showed me the warning label on the dryer itself that said the dryer should not be installed with plastic or foil venting. He also said there was definitely a dead animal in the dryer vent and the new cover had a lifetime warranty to cover pest intrusion and removal. He showed me the price list and said that he would just call it a basic install versus trying to part apart the job and offered us a coupon he had on him to take $10 off the work. We felt he was honest and helpful in trying to get us the best price for amount of work to be done. He completed the new solid vent install and said with the small amount of venting between our dryer and outside vent, we would probably never need to clean the vent. He stayed until about 6:30pm, which he told us was much later than he usually worked but said he really couldn't leave us with the fire hazard and animal issue in our vent and was happy to do the job. He had a fantastic disposition and we were very satisfied with the work at both sites and appreciate his willingness to go to the second residence and do the work involved. We would definitely recommend this company.

It was taking two cycles to dry a load of laundry so, I called Dryer Vent. They scheduled me that same week and worked around my availability.

They were able to squeeze us in as a same-day appointment on a Saturday. The technician, Dave, kept us informed regarding their scheduling throughout the day and then a different technician David came to our home to complete the work. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He completed a thorough assessment, provided an estimate and then completed the work. We would definitely use them again. We were very pleased.

Service provider was on time and professional. The vent hadn't been cleaned in a long time so it was very clogged up. There was also a lot of pipe that needed to be replaced. It took him a while to do it, but he stayed until it was done. I did have to have them come out for a follow up visit because there was somehow a leak in the pipe from the dryer to the wall. I could hear air gusting down through the hole in the floorboards into the basement. They came back out and fixed the issue promptly, though. Dryer works more efficiently now.

It went fairly well, there are really not too many details involved. He came, he did the job and he left. That's about it.

Dave is super nice and polite. Very trustworthy. He explained my problem, the dangers, what he would do to fix them, and the cost. The price was fair. He worked very hard and I feel safe again in my home.

It was an easy process from start to finish. Called company received voicemail with instructions to go to phone service. Appointment made. Tech was courteous, prompt and thorough. Great overall experiences.

Dave was fantastic, really knowledgeable. Certainly prevented a house fire, cleaning out birds nest.

Our dryer motor burned out, and the technician told us to clean the vent because that was the probable cause. He recommended Dryer Vent Wizard. I was able to schedule an appointment within two days. Michael found that the dryer vented into the ceiling space over a porch added by the previous tenant, and the vent hose was out of code. He was able to cut a new vent in the roof of the porch, which fortunately was a minimal relocation. He then cleaned the vent, which probably had not been done in 25 years, and he replaced the connection from the dryer to the vent with the proper material. He worked quickly and left all work areas clean. He was concerned at first that the original material used from the dryer, running inside the wall and out to the vent might be out of code. He told me if that was the case, it would be very expensive to correct, at least $1,000. He discovered, however, the original venting material was satisfactory. He went over the bill thoroughly before he started. I was so relieved it wasn't $1,000 and a possible fire hazard was being removed, that at the time the $575 bill seemed fine. But after reading some of the other reviews, it seemed I was charged a good bit more than some others who had comparable work done. And what's up with the $39 service charge? Since I did not get quotes from other companies, I have no point of reference as to the charge...but I suspect it was a bit high. Also, Michael wanted me to fill out an Angie's List review for him to take with him to submit. I did it, but I don't think it's really proper for the business to submit the reviews, since that could compromise the ratings system. So, I'm submitting another review myself, and that's why I gave them a 'C' in professionalism. I believe Michael knows what he is doing, and he is a very friendly, personable guy. But I would suggest that they drop the service fee and quit asking customers to fill out Angie's List reviews for them to submit.

Michael came in and evaluated our situation explained changes in code and made required changes and discussed optional features that we might consider no hard sell quoted from book.

The existing dryer vent was resting on the floor in the crawl space. By replacing it and hanging it from the floor joists, the amount of time needed to dry clothes has been greatly reduced.

Michael was timely, personable, & got down to work. He explained everything. Well made good suggestions. He left the area cleaner than he found it!
