What a professional!!! We could not be happier with the job that Ron and his son, Kris, did at our home. I had ordered the custom-made mahogany door from a company in Alabama and needed a professional to measure the opening to enable me to order a properly sized door and install the door. The house is 50 years old and the frame was not quite plumb, so Ron suggested that I order the door without borings. During the installation, he spent time properly measuring to ensure a proper fit. The result, the door fits perfectly. While Ron was busy with the door, Kris made beautiful thresholds for two other doors out of Brazilian Cherry. They fit perfectly and make a statement to the entries. I will use Ron again when we need a professional craftsman...he is truly a perfectionist.

Ron came in listened to what we wanted and sketched out a plan. We recently moved into our new home and needed bookshelves built for the home office. He clearly defined his timeline before we committed, built us exactly what we needed, it was clean, professional, and blended well with out home and the room. The finishes are great and all the predrilled holes to adjust the shelves are well spaced and provide level shelving for our books, etc. would definitely recommend this company.

Ron built new cabinets and concrete counter tops for our two bathrooms about 4 years ago. We were very pleased with his work and called him to do the work on our major remodeling project. He listened to my wishes and had great ideas and vision for the things I hoped could be accomplished as well as some great ideas for things I had not thought of - like remaking a larger cabinet under a bar that we weren't using giving us more storage space, adding a pull out spice rack in an empty space between the stove and dishwasher, and adding pull our drawers in the pantry for easy access. All of the work he did had to blend with the existing old (1974) beautiffuly aged pine paneling. He did this masterfully! The floor to ceiling book case looks like it has always been a part of the house. He kept in touch through the process - always answered my phone calls, let me know when he would be at our house - and was willing to coordinate with the other workers on our projects.

Ron was very responsive our needs and had a solution for problems and there were many days where he couldn't finish and complete his work due to problems with other contractors he took right in stride.

We worked with Ron to remodel our kitchen - the experience was amazing, and we since hired him to design and build a media cabinet in our FROG (see earlier review from my husband: A+). From the moment we met with him, he exceeded our expectations - highly professional, organized and brings forth great ideas. He listened to our needs, reviewed photos of kitchen cabinets and decorative hoods we liked, and ended up delivering something that was better than I had seen in any magazine, photo, etc. He is a true craftsman and doesn't cut corners. He is patient and works with you to ensure you are in LOVE with the product. I do not have one complaint and I would not consider anyone else for jobs in our home. On top of his work, Ron is a great person, who is honest and trustworthy.

Everything far surpassed our expectations. Ron knows what he is doing and takes pride in his work. I wanted white, slightly distressed cabinet doors. He kept returning with samples until I said "that's it!" The same held true with the concrete countertops. We had to decide on texture, thickness, color and finish. Again, he brought us samples until we were happy. He delivers what he promises, and does so in a very knowledgeable and professional way. We were so pleased to know that there are still "artists" in this industry. We highly recommend Capefear Woodworks, and will definitely use Ron again for our next project.

Ron's work is great. He came out gave me an estimate, and completed the job in one day. His estimate was on point, actually quoted me a little higher than expected. He is professional and curious. He showed up on time and the cabinet is of better quality than the original.

Once we approved the job everything moved forward on schedule and on budget. The final product is exactly what we had in mind and are extremely pleased with the result. Some contractors would not handle this well but Ron was patient and adjusted the layout so she could visualize a new option. In the end we decided to stick with the original design and are happy we did. We would highly recommend Ron for any woodworking or carpentry job you might have. I called Ron for an estimate on a small job and from the very first contact he was professional and accommodating which led to more and more services.The home was a new build and all the details were fairly unique. Ron worked with us on some standard carpentry work and to both craft individual pieces and provide installation. He repaired & refinished an odd lot of 8 antique doors and provided installation. He installed approximately 1200 ft of baseboard trim, He finished the treads and risers on 22 stairs (which were extremely hard as they do not have trim to cover any mistakes.) Ron was always professional and extremely competent, providing solid advice and possible solutions. During the later stages of the build we had moved in prior to completely trimming out the home. Ron was always courteous to my wife, conscientious of our home and (having worked side by side with the man on several of our projects) a good person. I would use him again in a heart beat. I highly recommend him for any woodworking job.

Ron created custom crown molding for our kitchen. This work was required because of botched calculations by the original contractor who had no idea of how to fix his own mistake. Ron did a beautiful job of creating molding on site that far exceeded our best expectations. Also, the previous contractor had miscalculated the measurements around the window. Again, Ron came up with a solution that looks wonderful. No one would dream that the molding or the window casing were ever an issue because the Ron's solutions and execution are perfectly pleasing to the eye. Ron is a craftsman.

Ron Colson provided a base quote and concept design within days of our first meeting. The quote was very reasonable for the work we wanted done which was a pleasant surprise. His design was spot on, meeting or exceeding all of our requirements. During this process, Ron was extremely helpful in providing us guidance in-home office requirements, best practice installation factors as well as color and trim design. Once accepted, Ron worked with us on providing a realistic delivery and installation timeframe which allowed us to coordinate with our carpet installation. Ron and his wife worked paid close attention to detail during the installation and left the office area in perfect condition. Since installation, we have had numerous house guests favorably comment on our in-home office and the value it has added too our home. We have re-contact Ron to do additional wood work in our home and are confident he will again exceed our expectations. We were having an adio video system installed in our home and needed some shelving at the last minute. I emailed Ron over the weekend, along with several other contractors, and he was the first to respond. He made time to build these shelves and install them even though he only had 48 hours notice before it had to be done. He might not always be this flexible with his job schedule, but the fact that he responded so quickly anyway, and then worked it into his schedule was appreciated and rarely found. He was professional and punctual, putting the cabinets in place and making them adjustable so that my AV guy could move them around if need be. I also thought his price was very reasonable as my husband does some woodworking and knows generally what these things should cost. The only thing I might have done differently is further discuss my options with regards to paint and how I wanted the cabinets done. He made the cabinets exactly as I asked, out of the materials we discussed, with holes cut out along the back of each shelf for the cords, etc. When I looked at them later however, I thought of some other things I wished I had asked him to do instead. One was that I forgot to tell him that I am sensitive to any paint smell, therefore only certain paints (low VOCs) would work for me. But he would have no way of knowing that unless I told him and I didn't. So this is merely a note to self and a suggestion to everyone that you should not hesitate to be specific and try to think ahead of things you might need but might forget. I would not hesitate to call Ron for anything in the future. He did a great job, was wonderful to work with, and was very fast but efficient.

A week after our original meeting he returned with a drawing, CD of previous projects and a quote. I had done a lot of research and felt I had a good handled on what this project would cost based on quotes from Lowe's and another cabinet provider. The problem with the other company's was that I had to accept what they could put together with current products and not exactly what I wanted built. Ron was able to give me EXACTLY what I needed. It was so much fun to be able to select the wood used and the stain color. He is truly and artisan with wood. I am a cabinet makers daughter and know fine workmanship when I see it. I would recommend him to anyone.

Construction is never fun, particularly when it involves the kitchen. Our kitchen was pratically gutted. A big thank you to Mr. Colson for scheduling his work in a manner where it made the least impact on our lifes. He always stayed on task and we felt as if we were his only customer.We now have an out of this world kitchen that is not only architecturally beautiful but also is ultra functional, including a hidden broom closet, and a sit down bar with a custom wine rack. He also helped us with special lighting that further showcases our dynamic new kitchen. It was refreshing to have someone who did not see any job as too small. When I asked about the repair our chairs to our breakfast room set, he quickly, economically and effeciently repaired the chairs. I can honestly say, the chairs are stronger than the day the furniture was delivered. After watching the unique process he used to fix my chairs, I think they are next to indestructible. I am sure our beautiful furniture will last for a long time! It is rare these days to meet a gentleman that is as skilled and honest as Mr. Colson. His experise was always used for our benefit. His craftmanship is exquisite. I feel that we really got a lot for our money.It is fun watching the reaction of our family and friends when they see our new kitchen. Everyone always questions which company did the workWe will be seeing Mr. Coleson again next month. Our dogs damaged an expensive piece of furniture in our Great Room. Again, he is coming to our rescue and I cannot imagine that this piece of furniture will be 100% restored to the original condition. Thank you Capefear Woodwork.

The overall experience was excellent. The stain was excellent, and the wood work was excellent. He did a really good job installing it. He also installed self closing doors standard. For the quality of wood I got, the price was excellent. I highly recommend him to anyone one that needs wood work done.

Ron did an excellent job! He is a skilled cabinet maker and did a great job making the concrete counter tops. He worked his genius to make it all work in a 1970's house. He was always patient, prompt, and helpful. We would highly recommend him.

From the very first consultation Ron was very attentive and considerate. He truly cares about the quality of his work and takes pride in it.
