The owner Mike was excellent to work with from start to finish. He was prompt, professional, courteous and willing to work with an out of town home owner. The quality of the fence was exceptional - all boards screwed in rather than nailed which is important in a hurricane prone area. He also cleared a good amount of overgrown shrubbery that was in the way.

They are about doing high quality work. Their jobs are a little bit higher in cost , but they are up front about it. He has a guarantee about the quality of his work and have heard have hear good recommendations about Sawmill from others. He spoke with me for quite some time to make sure I understood everything regarding the project. He is going to pay the extra cost to have a professional surveyor survey the property line to make sure the fence is within state regulations.

I am more than pleased with Sawmill Fencing! After having a horrific experience with another company and my fence falling literally right after it was put up, contacted Sawmill Fencing. I took my old fence down and Sawmill Fencing came in and fixed all the problems BEFORE they proceeded to rebuild my fence from scratch. The crew was courteous, well mannered, respectful and worked non-stop. By the end of the day I was looking at a beautiful fence and was so happy I was in tears. All the problems I had encountered by the previous company was in the back of my mind because of the craftmanship of my new fence.The professionalism was superb, they cleaned up, made sure that everything was working, walked me around to show me everything they did, and left. I would recommend this company hands down. I make it a point to let my friends know about Sawmill Fencing. I couldn't be happier!

They were on time, very knowledgeable, and very friendly.

He came when he said he would. He did the job, packed up all the stuff, cleaned up and left. He warranties all his work so I would use him again if I have a problem.

I contacted Mike on Monday Sept 5 to set up an estimate. He came out the morning of the following Thursday (the 8th) where he took measurements, found the stakes from the survey, and we talked about my options for fence style, where we wanted gates, if we could fit a vehicle gate, etc. He gave me an initial rough estimate on the spot there, although I don't remember what it was because he said he would email me a more complete estimate with the different options. He was on time, courteous, and professional. He left my house maybe around 9am and emailed me the formal estimate at 2:30pm the same day. He would have done the whole fence as plain dog eared privacy fence for $3547 but we opted to get the scalloped picture frame front for an extra $270. We made plans to start work on Wednesday Sept 21. The lumber arrived on Tuesday the 20th, but unfortunately they were not able to start the next day as we had been getting a lot of rain over the few days leading up to it and there was more rain in the forecast. They were able to start on Monday the 26th and could have done the entire job in one day but again the rain showed up. They worked all the way up to the point where it started pouring buckets at about noon. They returned to finish the job on Thursday the 29th, and were done around 1pm. Again they were very professional and thorough. By my math they only took around 8 hours on site to do the entire job. The results are phenomenal. I couldn't picture a sturdier, more well built fence. They gates are top-notch. The scalloped picture frame portions make the front of my house look great. The price was exactly the estimate, except that he took off $50 because he felt bad about the delay even though it was for weather. As a side note, I would have gone with a 6' fence but my HOA doesn't allow them. This raised the price only slightly since the lumber comes in 6' lengths so cutting off a foot added a little extra work. My point is that if you want a 6' fence you can expect to pay slightly less. BOTTOM LINE: I'm really glad I went with Sawmill Fencing. They are a small operation that takes pride in doing quality work with a personal touch. His prices aren't the lowest but that's because he refuses to take any shortcuts that would sacrifice quality. A fence is one of those things where you get what you pay for. You can take a gamble with one of the other less reviewed (or unreviewed) companies or you can go with the sure thing.

We called in early June to set up an appointment for an estimate and Mike came out the very next day. He gave us the quote and we set up a date for the installation. He told us then that he would try to get it done before that date if he could get an opening in his schedule. We were promised July 12 but his crew was here on June 28th. The crew began installation that day and worked until dark. They returned the next morning and completed the project. Their professionalism and workmanship was top of the line. We love the quality of the fence that was built for us. We highly recommend this company to anyone that needs a fence built.

Mike and his crew came early on the first day, and had the post holes dug and were installing the fence before lunch. They finished the project in 2 days, and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the end result. When installing the fence, they ran into an aesthetic problem in the front yard, but before I had time to notice they fixed it so that I had nothing but beautiful fence showing to the street. Mike was always on site to answer questions, and at the end of each day would walk me through what had been done,and what was left to do. He made it a point to ask if it was what I pictured,and answered every question I had. He has a very efficient crew, and they are polite, courteous and very neat- I had no debris in the yard when they left each night. I would recommend Mike to anyone looking for a quality fence- his work is professional and his commitment to the customer's satisfaction is unparalleled.

The job went extremely well. The fence looks beautiful and is very well constucted. I have seen other fences in my neighborhood and this company definately does the best job. They are professonial, prompt, and do exactly what the customer wants. I would definately recommend this company!

Mike is a consummate professional. I think this can be contributed to his long career in the USMC. I called Mike for an estimate and he arrived on time. Mike gave me an estimate and even went so far as to recommend another company if I chose not to use Sawmill. I had special circumstances due to the fact that I was having a pool installed. Mike was willing to work around the pool builder?s schedule which actually made Mike?s job harder. Mike was able to meet every demand I put on him and he did so with a smile. If you are planning on having a fence installed, you owe it to yourself to give Sawmill Fencing a chance.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience from start to finish. We contacted Mike on the number provided by his website and he made a point to answer even though it wasn't a convenient time. We set up an appointment and he was there on time to give an estimate. From the start, Mike let us know that he wanted our house to look good as much as we did. He was suggestive and creative, yet open to our ideas regarding the final product. His estimate was comparable if not lower than other fence companies, yet the extras and level of detail he put into the work more than doubled the value of the fence (e.g., using screws instead of nails; using 3/4" pickets instead of 5/8"; quality hardware on the gates; caster wheels and wooden decks below each gate). I would recommend his services to anyone interested in custom fencing.

We just moved back to the area and needed to have a fence built in our new home. One of my calls was to Mike at Sawmill, who was absolutely wonderful. He came out on a Sunday to give me an estimate and started the job on Tuesday. His crew was great, and after about two days I had a fence. Overall, everything was EXCELLENT, Mike was here to estimate the yard in a timely fashion and began the project sooner than I even expected! Knowing Mike for many years, I knew by hiring him I would get the quality I was looking for. The craftsmanship and professionalsm he puts into his work is unmatched. It is hard to find old school values in many buisinesses today because evryone is looking for a quick buck! and forget why there really there and that is the customer. Word of mouth travels fast when quality is put into the job. I have recieved nothing but high complimants on a job well done!

My wife and I were very pleased with the quality of work that Sawmill Fencing Company provided for us. We have a pretty big yard and initially we were told that it would take 3 days but they were finished in 1 1/2 days. They came early and worked until night fall. Mike (owner of Sawmill) had great ideas for type of fence and shape etc. that helped me to get what I wanted but also save money. His crew showed up on time and got the job done quickly. I did not have to supervise at all and before I knew it, they were done! We love our fence. It looks great and they did an excellent job. My husband and I just bought our first home and needed a privcy fence put up. Our back yard measured out to be about 470sqft so we knew our fencing was not going to be just a couple hundred dollars to put up. We checked with other fencing company's and even though some were a few hundred dollars cheaper, Mike and his crew did a very beautiful job on our fence. As they say "You get what you pay for" and we couldn't be happier with the results. I was introduced to Mike Setzler through an extremely pleased previous customer of Sawmill Fencing. We made arrangements for him to perform an estimate on my property. Immediately I was impressed by his professionalism and genuine character. He gave us many different options with price variences. Once we decided what we wanted, we recieved his estimate in writing to confirm the price of our new fence. Our original closing date for our home was the end of September. The people buying the home we were selling, asked us to push up their closing date a month early. Since we have 2 dogs we needed our fence built when we moved in. Mike was able to work our fence into his schedule to complete it when we needed it built. This made the move a much more worry free process. Everything was done to exact specifications from estimate to completion. Upon completion, Mike and I performed a walk around of the fence to be sure that I was satisfied with the work. I would definitely recommend Sawmill Fencing to anyone who would like a quality fence built. This is by far one of the best companies that I have ever worked with!!!!

The experience with this project was great. I expected the time it would take to install to be longer then what it was. Mike's crew was suppose to start on Sept 11th but Mike called me on the 7th and asked if he could start on the 8th instead and they finished on the 9th. I had a few estimates done for a fence, some way more expensive for lesser quality materials and some cheaper still with lesser quality materials. I figured if I'm going to pay a few grand for a fence then I wanted quality, and quality is what I got with Sawmill Fencing. Sawmill is the way to go if you have plans on having a fence put in. Sawmill also installs decking and that will be my next project in the near future I have Sawmill do.

Once contacted, Mike arrived promptly and provided an accurate estimate. On the day of installation he arrived on time with a professional crew and all the proper equipment for installing a fence. As agreed the fence was instralled for the estimated price. Overall I would recommend this company over others do to the fact of the quality product, competive pricing, and superior workmanship. If you need a fence installed this is the guy to call.

If you are in need of a new fence - Mike Setzler and Sawmill Fencing is the only way to go. Mike came to my house and gave me four different estimates the same day I called him. He started work within a week once I told him what I wanted. I had a terrible mess in the backyard - trees and brush overgrowing a decrepit chainlink fence, but in one day he had not only torn everything out and trimmed up the back, but installed the entire brand-new wood fence! He came back the next day to put in the swing gate. His work was absolutely incredible - it made my back yard look absolutely beautiful. Mike is quick, professional, fun, and honest. He is not after your money. He truly loves his job, and his goal is trying to find what is best for you and your house. I would recomment Mike to you as the best (and best priced!) fencing company in Jacksonville.

We had an awesome experience with Sawmill. He came out for our quote and was so nice and courtous. He was very down to earth and gave us many options and ideas. He came on the day he said he would to put the fence up. It was completed in no time with quality work. Sawmill fence is not like any other fence that was quoted to us from other fencing companies in the area. Sawmill used screws instead of nails which made our fence a lot stronger. they also use deck boards, which is going to prevent a lot of other damage later on. I just can't say enough about how pleased we are with our fence. It looks BEAUTIFUL and they were so professional and nice. I would recommend Sawmill to everyone. Great company and awesome work!

Overall experience was excellant. Heard of the contractor by word of mouth. Contacted Mike of Sawmill fencing on 21 July 2010 for a estimate on the privacy fence. Mike was on time, professional, and recieved a fare estimate. I requested his services and setup a date for the fence to be built. Agreed to have the fence to start to be put in on the 3rd of August. I never had to contact him again. All materials showed up on the afternoon on the 2nd of August. His team was here first thing on the 3rd and finished early afternoon on the 4th. His employees were all hardworking, professional, and well mannered.
