Off the top, I'm not certain if this Scott's location is the where our service people originate from, but I think it is. We set up a contract with Scott's in 2012 after a number of years of trying to whip our yard into shape ourselves. I tilled the entire yard, killed off the weeds, planted seed, watered and it would work out okay for about 3-4 months and then revert back to mostly weeds. Scott's spent most of last year battling the weeds and then they aerated and seeded last fall and right now I'd say 90% of the yard looks great. Very happy

Great job! My lawn is green and full. I've been working with them for a couple years now, they offer competitive prices and get the job done.

Used this company in 2012 and was satisfied with results. I was called in mid February 2013 saying that they would be out to my house in 3 business days to do a treatment. I went out of town for a week and when I returned, no treatment had been performed. After a few more days I called the corporate customer service # and was told there was a mix up and that the service would be performed at no change within 3 business days. I went out of town again for 10 days and when I returned, I could find on evidence of a treatment and no phone calls. I called to find out what had happened and sales rep called me back saying that I have been paying the wrong rate and that the correct rate is double what I was paying. He asked me if I wanted to cancel the service and I said yes. The problem was that nobody called to tell me what the problem was. All they did was just not show up. No phone calls or anything. That's a terrible way to do business. If they had called me and explained why they did not treat my lawn, then I could understand. No way will I ever use Scott's again and I will certainly tell any body who may ask about the terrible service I received. I think this service was actually out of Stallings NC and not Charlotte but I can't find a location for Charlotte. But for the consumer, it all Scotts. Don use them.

It took them a couple of weeks to come out for the first and only application. The 49.00 was to be the charge for the entire yard - front, back and sides; however, I believe the product was only applied to the front yard. I wasn't home at the time to see what they did but the front is the only area that looks like the weeds are under control. The rest of the yard is a weed infested mess so go figure. I called them about three weeks after the application and informed them of the problem I was having with the weeds. The lady who answered my call said she was writing everything down that I was telling her but nobody ever called or came out to investigate my issue and/or re-apply the product as they say they do. After another week I called again to speak to the manager. Again, I was ignored so I cancelled the service. When they asked why I was canceling l couldn't wait to unload and gave them the details. A couple of weeks later the manager finally called but it's a moot point now so I will not be returning their call. They should have treated me as a valued customer when they had the opportunity. Scott's Lawn Service is an awful company to do business with and I would never recommend them to anyone. They are a rip off in my book and it appears they only sprayed the front yard so it would look good from the street where they display their sign for others to see! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

I have been a Scotts customer for over 2 years now. The sales representative offered me a discounted price 2 years ago to get my business and I have paid $43 per treatment ever since, instead of $54. After the usual winter break, Scotts came to service my lawn yesterday, without informing me first as they are supposed to. I just found an invoice for $54 on my door. I called Scotts LawnService to complain about the price. I spoke with Jack, who told me abruptly that there was no discount anymore. I was obviously very unhappy that I have not been informed of the new pricing. He said that letters informing customers about upcoming services and prices have been sent out in January, but I have never received this letter. He double-checked with his manager, and confirmed that, for some reasons, the letter has not been sent to me. Nevertheless, he insisted that I still had to pay the $54 for the service provided. I offered to pay the usual $43 for the treatment, which I think was fair, since I would have never agreed to this new price, had I been informed. Jack replied that I could pay whatever I wanted, but that my bill will go to collections if my payment was not for the full amount. I had to leave and did not have time to ask to talk to a manager. I understand that prices may change and do not have a problem with that, but I have the right to be informed of any increases. Even though Scotts acknowledge that they did not inform me, they expect me to pay the full amount and are threatening to send me to collections if I don't? I am appalled by the way I have been treated by Scotts' representative. I have obviously cancelled my service and I am thinking of filing a complaint with the BBB.

We signed up online and have never spoken to them directly. When we signed up we made a note that asked them to let us know when to restrict the pet's access to the yard after treatments. They have been out twice. The first time was a few days after we signed up, the second was a few weeks later just to put down the flea & tick treatment. Our yard had a severe weed infestation. For our first treatment the Scott's guy showed up unannounced around 8:30am. It was a little annoying that they came at this time because I was rushing to get ready for work that day and unexpectedly had to walk my dogs half a mile to a common area in the neighborhood, but at least the Scott's guy followed our instructions and let us know we shouldn't let the dogs on the grass. They also left us a note warning that we would have dead spots where all the weeds were (understandable) and that our sloped front yard would make it more difficult to treat. We are pretty pleased so far. Most of our weeds are gone, and our grass is coming back a little. I don't expect to have a beautiful lawn right away, but hopefully by next spring it will start to fill out some. UPDATE: Scott's saw my review and contact us to let us know about an automated phone service that will let us know about visits in advance. It is still kind of a "we will be there sometime in the next two days" notice, but it is better than nothing. Also, we had opted for seeding when we signed up online but they didn't include it in our package. I am still not clear on why. When they called to schedule the seeding we thought we had already paid for it, and were surprised to be charged for it. So be sure to ask if things are covered when you schedule them.

There were a lot of weeds in my lawn this time and it looks like they have got them all. They are very good. Their products are very good too. I have been using lawn services for a while and I haven’t been happy with them. Scotts LawnService is the first one that I have been happy with.

We had problems with our grass. They put a fertilizer down that was supposed to be pet friendly. They sent me a letter later that the fertilizer was not supposed to be used by the public.

It was a good experience. They did a pretty good job but it just got too expensive and I started doing it myself. I would tell others to shop around and see what other people have used. I don’t think I’m too happy with any kind of service because I like to do it myself. When we moved here the weeds were out of control and the grass wasn’t doing well. Once they got it under control, after about a year, I started doing it myself. You pay for what you get. I liked them. They were very honest.

Unresponsive, unpredictable. Burned a section of the lawn with sloppy application of fertilizer. Fungus control worked poorly. Called and emailed about problems and got no response. Applied winterizer after leaves covered the lawn, leaving a blotchy mess all winter. Said they were late applying because they were busy. Excuses and more excuses. Then they try to sell you more services like shrubs, trees etc.

I talked with Derak B. late last fall. We made an appointment to meet to evaluate my yard on January 13th. I got no calls and no one appeared for the evaluation. I've received no call since. I've since contracted with another company.

The service is great. The generate a phone cal a day or two before service to advise you they are coming out. They come out and perform the services and leave a very meticulous description of what was done and what I need to do. They tell me what the status of my lawn is, weeds they saw, what was put on my lawn, and expectations of the treatment results.

I've been a customer for a full year. I initially told them I would give them a year to evaluate their service, that I wanted particular help with lawn fungus in the late spring and summer. I shouldn't say it, but I told them they had carte blanche. Any service they recommended I would do as long as the lawn looked great and lawn fungus and brown patch never appeared. When late April came I called, emailed, and wrote letters begging for "an aggressive preventative program". They treated the fungus in May and June. July arrived without a treatment so I called repeatedly and left messages, wrote subsequent emails, and sent letters to home office. Last week they called; they agreed that I had brown patch and asked if I wanted 1/2 price treatment. This week my grass is more dead than alive and still no treatment. I've reached the end. The sad point is, I don't think they care.

Lawn continued to have weed problems after treatment. When requested to return for additional no charge treatment, provider stated that it was time for the next treatment and that they would schedule it. A week later service was not performed and another call was required. This happened on two occasions. When I complained about the service, the service rep nicely understood and canceled my service immediate although the technician still showed up later that day asking if we still wanted our lawn sprayed. After being a good customer for 5+ years, you would expect a little more effort to retain us as a customer...just accepting that their service is not good and canceling the account is not how I would expect a company like Scotts to handle business. I will find another company in the future that is timely and effectively treats our lawn issues.

Everything went well. They had a fair price and are working hard to ensure the weeds stay out of the yard.

They are pretty good, and I have no complaints about them. I pay about $42 per visit. They do something new every time they come out. They are here when they say they are going to be here. I don’t have any negative things to say about them. My yard looks better now that they are working on it. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

Everything looks fine and has improved the look of our yard. We will use them the time being.

They are responsive when I contact them and are concerned that I am a satisfied customer. I spend around $170 each time they come out, and I think they are competitively priced.

They are very easy to get a hold of. They are willing to work with you and also work extra time.

They were very prompt and they always called before they showed up. I have never had any complaints with them. I’m satisfied with the quality of the work done. They were friendly and very courteous.

I would say the experience went very well except that we went through a couple of years of drought and so despite their best efforts, my lawn did not really look as good as I would have liked, but I think they did what they should have done and it was just the weather, so I can t really blame them. They did everything they promised to do, they were there when they were supposed to, and they left the signs in the yard so I knew, and they were always giving me a write-up of what they did. The price was reasonable too.

I've been using them for three years and they are excellent and I like their services a lot. I would like to recommend them to others.

I was very disappointed with the experience I had with Scott's Lawnservice. There was no noticeable improvement with my lawn during the 14+ months I was with Scott's which was secondary to the disappointment I have with Scott's customer service. I tried, over a period of 8 weeks(!), to speak to the technician who was servicing my lawn. I had questions and concerns which I wanted to pass on to him. The office staff could never determine which tech was doing the work and while they promised and promised to have the technician call me to discuss the treatments - I never received a call. Finally, after calling and leaving a message for the owner/manager - who also did not return my call - I was forced to fire Scott's Lawnservice. As if this wasn't frustrating enough, I had an issue with the final invoice which I conveyed to the office staff. I asked for the owner/manager to call me to discuss. Typical of Scott's, rather than have a person call me to discuss the problem they had their automated (computer) service call and call reminding me that a payment was due. Frankly I think this Scott's franchise - and maybe the company as a whole - is too big to provide the one-on-one customer service that many of us expect. I cannot recommend Scott's Lawnservice to anyone interested in improving their lawn due to their complete lack of customer service professionalism.

They are very convenient and the quality of their work is excellent. They are very customer service oriented and consistently will call us before the come, for our convenience.
