TruGreen Lawn Care - 904

If you use TruGreen and are satisfied, congratulations, and I wish you continued good relations with them. However, what follows is my experience with them and in the interest of letting other neighbors know about it, I am documenting it herein. My neighbor has contracted with TruGreen in Indian Trail for several years now. They came and aerated and seeded on September 25. The seeding was minimal in that they were asked to make a return visit. They were instructed and is in their file not to do anything to the right side of the driveway, my side of her driveway. I pay to have my lawn services to do their work up to my neighbor's driveway (right side). When TruGreen left they had made ruts on the lawn on the right side that I had to manually repair because they have NEVER called me back nor attempted to fix the mess. Two weeks ago my service, Pine Valley Turf Management, aerated, seeded, and fertilized the lawn, including up to my neighbor's driveway. They cleaned the concrete and asphalt surfaces. My new grass is about 2" now. This past Monday TruGreen again showed up (after a rain) and redid my neighbor's yard, INCLUDING THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DRIVEWAY. My grass was torn up and they left a mess (ruts and mud on the driveway, sidewalk, and street)) as bad as in September. They were instructed to notify my neighbor and me before coming - never happened. I went to their office and talked with the service manager and showed him pics and a video I took of the mess. He apologized and assured me that they would be out first thing Tuesday to clean up the mess and reseed. Tuesday at 10:00 I called to find out when they would come out - left a message on his cell phone I used to send him the video. At 2:00 I called again and told them to forget it an I'll fix it myself and get it watered. At about 4:55 I received a call to tell me they were 15 minutes away, which is how long it takes to get from their office to my home. I told him to forget it. I used to have TruGreen take care of my yard and they had the same problems in following instructions and leaving a mess that I had to cancel them. This experience confirms my decision to cancel them when I did.

Trugreen service is subpar and expected results do not appear. Have been in home when service is completed and watched associates perform subpar or no service. Most recent service took all of 3 minutes and never even went into the back yard. Called and cancelled service and was lied to by the customer service rep.

It was expensive. They went up since they merged with another company. I don't know where they are located. I just know that I call them and they come out. For one thing, I told them that a lot of trees get worms in the spring. I haven't seen any worms. I pray that it did what it had to do. That was the main thing. My trees out back I had told them that I had planted them myself and the leaves were falling. He explained to me why they were falling They look all green and fluffy. The trees seem to be doing good. So far they have been okay. I told them not to do anything until they call me. I might just say I don't want the treatment done. They did say they would do that. They did what I asked them to do. I just don't like the price. They follow directions because I told them not to mess with the stuff in the front and they didn't. They cleaned up well. They was nothing amiss.

They give me a heads up when they are coming and leave a sign in the yard.

The service is great. I have had them since last year. If I'm not satisfied they will come out and fix any issues.

They called us 3 times to tell us they were coming over today and two people will be here tomorrow to work on moles and do something else. They always call ahead and remind us we don't have to do anything, just make sure the yard is accessible.

They were supposed to call the day before they come and they just show up. They never call like they are supposed to.

They do not respond to questions. Gave ticket # and promised 24 hour response. Followed up 3 times, no response. Aeration and overseeding was very poorly executed. My neighbor watched them, said they flew through the yard. Areas were missed, cores were minimum penetration, certainly not enough to provide any benefit. Canceled service.

They were here in April of 2016. It costs $70.

I have a contract with them and will continue to use them in the future.

These guys are the WORST! They don't show up when they say they are coming and never call you back. The customer services is TERRIBLE! They never aerated and seeded my yard. I cancelled the contract.. Do yourself a favor and use someone else.

I am finished for the year. The price varies widely depending on the service and chemicals used. It is about $1,000 per year. Their price is competitive. My general complaint is that they are a big company and they can't provide service, necessarily, when I want it done. I have to wait a while. When they do come they do an excellent job, but it is just a matter that they are big and have a lot of people to take care of so you are on a waiting list sometimes.

Last year when they aerated my yard they scratched my new fence. They did nothing to repair this or give me a discount on any service. This year we have had nothing but weeds and crabgrass in my yard. On my account it specifies to call 2 days before aeration so I can mark irrigation and mow my yard. They called at 5:15 pm (after hours so I couldn't even call them back) to say they were scheduling my aeration for the following day. Then when I called to reschedule, no one returned my phone calls. Tried to cancel my service and they begged me to give them another chance. After begging me for another chance the service manager Marcus never returned any of my 4 phone calls. There is nothing they can do to make this up to me and I certainly will not ever recommend them to anyone.

They come every month. I have a contract with them. The aerate my lawn, put down stuff to kill weeds and some other stuff. I was paying a lot more before because I went from full services to just lawn maintenance so I spend about $80 per quarter. The office people and workers were nice. They come and do what they need to and they leave a message for my on my lawn stating that they came and did some work. I think they do a lot of work that may not be necessary but you can let them know what you want done.

They are always kind enough to call before the appointment, and leave a detailed note for you after the job. I also feel like their prices are reasonable for the service. They also make recommendations for what you need.

I use Scott's for my Tree and Shrub service. The last time they came out they sprayed the trees and shrubs for pests. I've noticed that each fall my crepe myrtles always gets mites. I don't think they are spraying them because there is no residue on the windows (they are close to the windows and if they were sprayed you would see something on the windows. I noticed that my crape myrtles have mites as the leaves are black and the trees look diseased. I called over a week ago for a re-service to have them sprayed again. Their policy is to come out within 24-72 hrs. The person told me it would be 24-72 hours. When 72 hours, the third day passed I called and another person said that it always takes 5 days and promised to get someone out this week. Yesterday, Thursday, a week has passed since calling and it was getting late so I called to make sure I was still on the schedule for a re-spray. They assured me I was and that they would be out Friday. Friday is here. 1:00pm there has not been anyone here. I contacted them and spoke to Nicole who looked to see and assured me someone was coming out. It is now 4:30 and I get a voice mail letting me know that I've been scheduled for a shrub service within the next 2 business days. I immediately called back and of course the office is closed for the holiday. (Labor Day). They wait till they are closing to send me a voice mail so I can't speak with anyone. This has gone on for 3 years now. I have missed service calls and have to call to see when they are going to come out. I've had to call repeatedly to have a re-spray done. I've been put off for the FALL "deep root fertilization" for 2 years now. This should be done around the first of October and they are finally ready to fertilize in DECEMBER! Too late for that. I have had it with this company.

They call a day or so ahead of time to let me know they are coming. They come knock on the door and spray the yard. Leave me the bill and leave. My lawn looks nice and I am very happy. They come every couple of months or so; maybe it is more frequently. I am not sure. They will call once in a while to see if I want other work done but I don't have to accept it.

They came to the wrong address. We have centipede grass and our neighbors (the correct address) have something completely different. We had just had sod put down three weeks ago, too. They never should have put these chemicals on our type of grass so soon after sod being laid. I have called and lodged a complaint. Their service crew are obviously not trained to know their grass types and are over-scheduled causing them to rush from house to house. We would never use this service in the future.

We've been with Scotts Lawn Service for 10+ years. They make 7 visits per year & apply the proper products (fertilization, weed control, etc.) & the proper times of the year. We've been very happy with the results every year & would recommend them highly. They use quality Scotts commercial products (such as are used on golf courses, etc) which are not available via retail at the Lowes & Home Depots of the world. We've been & continue to be very happy with the service.

Great. They call a day or 2 ahead so I know they are coming. Knock on the door when they come. Do their work, leave me a paper and go.

I’ve been using them for a couple of years and it worked out very well.

I contracted with Scotts a little over a year ago and immediately started having issues. I have a CCTV system of cameras at my house that record 24/7 and after the second treatment I noticed that weeds in some parts of my yard weren't dying while in other parts they were. I checked my cameras and sure enough the "technician" wasn't covering my entire yard. I called to complain and after some argument on their behalf, they came back out and re-treated and this time burned a large spot in my yard! Over this year the grass has only been marginally better than it was before Scotts started and again my wife and I began noticing large areas of the yard that seemed worse than others. I checked the cameras again after the last treatment and again the technician wasn't covering my yard. I sent a comlaint notice and it took over a week to get a reponse from the owner who promised to have his "service manager" contact me, which he didn't. I then sent a cancellation notice and again the owner appologized and promised a call. After several more days without contact I confirmed the cancellation and received a short e-mail from the owner saying that he "understood". Since then I've talked to a neighbor and a good friend who both had similar issues with Scotts and I've read all of the negatives on Angie's list. My advice, don't use these guys!!!!

I had Scott's Lawn Service when I lived in New York state and I requested them to forward me service when I moved down to Rock Hill. The price varies depending on what's done. They were very professional, they take good care of my lawn and make recommendations to me. It's a national concern with a great reputation. I've used them for years and years and they are very satisfactory.

They did a good job! Their technical men seemed to be quite competent, and when they get through, they actually give me a complete plan. They were very, very nice!
