Hatch Homes mission is to change the way Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro communities view exterior remodeling services. Our aim is to provide the generation of remodeling services in Siding, Roofs, Windows, and Door replacement. Hatch Homes has a unique approach in an industry occupied by businesses who can do their job properly.

"After working with this company for over 10 months, it is my belief that they use misleading marketing and hire the lowest quality subcontractors. They spent an entire day installing the wrong siding and never noticed (we had to point it out to them). The crew also peed in our neighbor’s yard (this neighbor has young children), left an exacto knife blade out on our porch floor, left chicken bones and cigarette butts in our yard, and got paint on literally everything (our brick, our porch floor, our door, our bushes, our windows, our new downspouts, etc.). They also have painted the house FOUR TIMES and we still have splotchy paint in multiple areas. They claim to be James Hardie approved, but we provided both a James Hardie rep and an inspector sketches/photos of what Hatch did for our siding and flashing - provided by Bill the owner - and both James Hardie and the inspector indicated that Hatch’s installation techniques do not adhere to James Hardie standards. Because of this, we have asked them to come out and fix it. Instead, they split the third and final invoice into two and have given us 4 days to pay one of them before we incur interest. Four days. Yet they have been working on our home for 10+ months at this point, and there’s still no date scheduled for them to come out and finish. We are not being particular or perfectionists - we’ve literally had two experts come out and dispute the work Hatch has done. Our pm was fired, a crew that worked on our house was fired, and apparently 5 other homes that Hatch worked on between fall 2023 and spring 2024 needed revisions. I do not trust this company, and I recommend steering clear."

Garage door services FAQs

Garage door repairs cost $260 on average but can range anywhere from $80 to $675. Factors such as the type of repair needed, the style of your garage door, and the material your door is made of all play a part in the final price tag.

For example, wood garage doors look beautiful but are prone to dents, splitting, and cracks that are difficult to fix. You can expect to spend an average of $200 to $300 to repair your wooden garage door. Fiberglass garage doors are more durable and less expensive to fix, averaging around $100 to $200.

The cost of replacing garage door panels is around $1,200 for the average homeowner. However, depending on a few factors, you could pay as little as $250 or as much as $3,000 or more. Considerations like panel style and the type of garage door you have all factor into what you pay.

While sectional garage doors are common among homeowners, they are often the most expensive to replace, averaging around $700 to $2,400. Tilt-up garage doors, which are the simplest door available, range from $400 to $1,400.

Annual to biannual routine garage door maintenance is vital to extending its life as much as possible. Most importantly, noticing any unusual sounds or movements and taking care of them as soon as possible is one of the best ways to maintain your garage door. Keeping the tracks clear of dirt and debris and lubricating the rollers and other moving parts twice a year will also help to get the most out of your door.

Even though garage doors can last 15 to 30 years, it’s important to recognize the signs of wear and tear or other damage that might cause the need for a repair or replacement. A big sign that your garage door needs repair or replacement is the door not opening and closing correctly, including moving slower than usual. Also, if you notice that your garage door is becoming warped or overly weathered, it’s time to call a professional to discuss your options and tips for buying a new garage door.

Garage doors generally last between 15 to 30 years, depending on many factors. Your location plays an essential role in your garage door’s lifespan—doors exposed to harsh elements like heavy rain or intense heat might not last as long as those installed in a milder climate. How often you use your garage door also factors into its overall lifespan. Generally, standard garage door springs can withstand 20,000 cycles, whereas tension springs typically last between 5,000 and 10,000.
