The pump was bad. The cost of the repair would be close to the cost of a new machine and the current machine was a 2007. The decision was made to replace it. This is one of the first times I felt really good paying money for a service call that didn't end up in a fix. John took the machine apart quickly. It was obvious that he knew his craft. He pointed out the rust spots. He explained and demonstrated the broken pump. He explained my options in clear and concise terms and I never felt pressured one way or another. I've been told I'm "particular - in a good way" and John exceeded my expectations! In the very best way!

Very well - John the technician was excellent and the staff at the home base were on the ball and looking forward - pre-ordering parts so that we were not without a fridge for long.

I got an immediate response from this contractor through Angie's List suggesting what the problem sounded like based on my description. He suggested that the cost of repair might be so much that a new machine might be smarter. A later follow-up also suggested that I have time before it stops functioning & they would be happy to diagnose it on site for $99. I decided to wait a to do anything as the machine is functioning well except for the "jet engine" noise. I got a follow-up phone call from the office to see how it was going. I really appreciate the free advise. I will keep this company on my list for any future needs they are equipped to provide.

They replaced the heating element and advised that I may have a vent clog issue which was an added service. Very prompt and they squeezed me in which I appreciate. Good company and I recommend them highly.

Service tech cane within a time frame that fit my schedule. Was one of the few contractors that I've dealt with that valued my time. Was very kind and had the part with him so I did not need to make a follow up service call. Very pleased and have suggested this company to friends.

I was pleased with the services provided by John Michael & Associates. David, the technician, was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable. He was here twice, once to diagnose the problem, and later to install the new compressor. Hopefully I won't need their services again but if I do, I won't hesitate to call John Michael & Associates.

What an outstanding experience with an appliance repair company! Our 2010 Samsung French door fridge has had chronic icing problems for the last 4 years; we've had to remove the back and defrost with a hair dryer every four months or so. As a hail Mary pass, before throwing in the towel and buying a new fridge, I checked Angie's List and found many outstanding reviews for JM &A. Fortunately, they are a factory authorized Samsung appliance business (not easy to find)., though they service most major brands. I emailed them my issue, and got a prompt reply, along with an estimated cost. They were well aware of the back freezing issue (and the drain freezing issue), and came with the parts to replace. Turns out the drain freezing up and flooding under crisper drawers had a recently released part replacement. Hopefully, the problem will not recur. I will never again buy a Samsung appliance (the company's customer service is non-existent), but my experience with John from JM & A couldn't have been better. He explained the problems, was very professional, and has hopefully cured the issue. I will be calling them for all future appliance repair needs!

John Spinelli was so great! He found a poorly done/ dangerous repair by a previous repair co which had caused the unit to stop working. Searched for replacement part. When unable to find replacement part, he patiently agreed to call and speak with our home warranty co-- which was really going above and beyond. I am will be a lifelong customer.

John arrived exactly when he said he would, and was extremely professional and courteous. He quickly diagnosed the problem and arranged to obtain parts. I was instructed not to pay until he was able to come back and finish the job, which he did. Not only did he fix the original problem, but he also offered to make an adjustment to the door. This is exactly the type of company that I want to use!! I would highly recommend them!!!!

From the beginning the service was excellent. They called about 45 minutes prior to arriving so I had time to make it home from work to meet them there. They were there in the time quoted, were super great with our dogs, and had the problem diagnosed in an hour. Once the new part came in, they called and were out the next day to repair. We trusted them enough to let them finish the repair while we were not home. I was called before the tech got there, and when he left stating that our washer was in working order. They were extremely professional and would highly recommend them to anyone who asked.

He came in on a weekend because I have no other time during the week to be there. He show up at 8:30, assessed the problem, on my electric dryer, being the thermometer and fuse had gone out. He got the parts from his truck told me the price installed and checked to see if it solved the heating issue. It fixed it and he was gone by 9:10. He was courteous , informative and he even took his shoes off when he came into my house. Great service and if I have any other problem I will call them.

After several ineffective attempts to fix my bottom-freezer Maytag refrigerator (which was icing up) by several other providers, I was put in touch with John Michael and Associates. The representative was able to schedule me fairly quickly, showed up and diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and IT'S FIXED! Problem was none of the other repair people knew that Maytag (actually Whirlpool) had redesigned a faulty drain valve which was preventing the refrigerator from defrosting and draining properly. John Michael associate knew about the replacement valve, and it was a fairly simple fix. It pays to find someone who has some training and/or experience. I think JM office is in Winston-Salem, NC but they have reps that offer service throughout central NC. I highly recommend them.

Jon was our serviceman (not John Michael) and he showed up on time, was professional, polite and was able to replace the parts quickly. One of the parts that LG sent was cracked in shipping and this was not discovered until he opened the box at our house. He apologized for this and arranged to have another part shipped to us and arranged a time the next week so that he could come out and install that last piece. It was just the plastic covering to the light bulb and my husband works from home, so I was no problem for us. It also gave him a chance to make sure that the electrical board that he installed in the first visit was working as it should. We have cork flooring in our kitchen and I was worried about it being damaged when he moved the refrigerator but without me asking, he went out to his truck and came in with something to lay on the floors to protect them while he moved the fridge. I could not have been happier. We live on the outskirts of Charlotte and they travelled to us and there was no service charge. W had never heard of this company before...we were assigned them by the LG service number that we had called regarding the recall. We will be sure to contact them again if/when we need another appliance repaired. So happy with them.

Our dryer stopped putting out heat last night. It would still tumble, but would not heat. I called John Michael & Associates this morning at 8:00am and they had a technician at my home by 4pm the same day. The technician, John Spinelli called before coming, he was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. He advised me of the problem, showed me the problem part, had the part on his truck, and fixed it within an hour. If and when I should require a technician to service an appliance, this company will be the only company I will call.

I contacted John Michael & Associates late in the evening and received a response back early the next morning. After talking with the owner, John, he was extremely friendly and thorough; he stated that he would do his very best to come out for my repair the very same day. He called me back with in a couple of hours and in turn, we scheduled a technician to come out that afternoon. The technician, John (a different John), called me before arriving and was punctual. Upon his arrival, he was down to earth and very courteous . He went right to work and fixed the problem in no time. He showed me the damaged part and explained to me what he did as well as how to better extend the life of my washer and dryer. I WILL DEFINITELY call them back when I'm in need of repair for any of my appliances. Their company magnet is permanently on my fridge!

Promptness, competence and courtesy are key for me, and I was satisfied on all counts. LG contacted John Michael & Associates to service my washer under warranty for unbalanced error and overfilling with water, and told me to expect a call to schedule. I received a call early the next morning from a service technician, John Spinelli, who impressed me with his thoughtfulness. He apologized that he didn’t call the same day, explaining that LG contacted them at the end of the business day. He had an opening later that morning and asked if that would be convenient. He was right on time, and had a neat appearance and professional manner. This next point is important for me, as an Asian woman. At the door, John asked if he should take off his shoes. He asked a polite, culturally appropriate question and did not assume the answer either way. I don’t expect that from everyone, but it showed that John focuses on the customer’s individual needs. He found that the problem had to do with the way I used the washer, which caused an issue with the water sensor, but he tested every cycle to make sure and showed me how to run the tests on my own. He explained how the washer functions and ways to avoid typical problems. When I told him that I do heavy laundry because of dogs, he gave me tips on washing specific types of items, as well as general advice on routine maintenance. He answered all my questions and said to call the company if I had other questions. Sometimes, service technicians can be too chatty and personal, but John never crossed that line. It’s important to feel comfortable when you allow someone into your home and I did. If John is representative of the usual level of service, this is an outstanding company.

John Michael and Associates repaired my Samsung refrigerator. The freezer had stopped cooling to the desired temperature after 15 months of purchase. I contacted Lowe's Home Improvement and Samsung and was told that it was no longer under warranty. I decide to call someone from the Angie List providers and went with John Michael and Associates. They were very friendly and courteous. The service was outstanding and very professional. The service rep called and set a time that he would arrive, and was on time each time. I turns out that the repair was covered by Samsung, and I got a full refund from John. These guys are great.

John, John, and Andy were all very courteous and knowledgeable. They ended up having to make a total of 4 Trips to my house to resolve this issue. Each time they came out they provided me with a morning call with a time frame for their arrival. By the 3rd call out I requested that they call me 30 minutes in advance of their arrival, which they had no problem doing. They were even kind enough to come out on a Saturday for the final service call. It was a long and tedious repair, but that had nothing to do with the service provided, that all falls to Samsung.

We were put in touch with John Michael and Associates through LG when our LG microwave stopped in the middle of a cycle. JM&A made an appointment that worked with our schedule, and called the day of the appointment to give us a 2-hour window. The technician was very polite, friendly, courteous and professional. He was able to diagnose the problem within a few minutes and repair it. (A wire on the magnetron motor was in the wrong place). A couple of weeks later the microwave developed a new problem: it failed to heat food, though the container and oven itself became hot. An appointment was made, a technician and his trainee came out and quickly diagnosed the problem. (The magnetron was broken--likely due to having operated initially with the wire that was in the wrong place). The magnetron had to be ordered. It came within two days and the technicians came out immediately to install it. They protected our cabinets, counters, and floors, and left everything clean. We were very pleased with the service.
