Joe not only took care of my leaks, he checked my chimney to see if it needed pointing up, and cleaned out all my gutters! Great job and very nice guy.

Joe came out in the rain and quickly found the source of my roof leak. He was able to repair the problem immediately, even in the rain. When I asked him what a complete roof replacement would cost he went back up the ladder, took measurements and gave me an estimate on the spot. This is the most responsive roofing company I have ever dealt with.

He was very prompt. He stands behind his work 100%.

Joe arrived on time and got right to work. Very Friendly and the 2 fellows he had working with him were also nice and came right down the ladder if I had a question. Finished the work in about a day and a half for a ranch style home. Cleaned up each day - no complaints, great job!

We found out about Joe on Angie's list . We put a call into his receptionist and she said he would be out to our house within a couple of hours and he showed up ahead of schedule, got up on the roof to assess the damage and determine how best to fix it. We felt he was very professional and had confidence that he would do a good job and stop our roof from leaking. He gave us an estimate and we ask when he could get to it and he informed us he would be back the next day that his receptionist would call with an exact time. Heather called right away to give us the arrival time. The next day Joe and his crew were right on schedule and they began work and were finished in a timely fashion. They cleaned everything up and took care not to step on any of my flower beds in the process. He did exactly what he said he would and told us if we had any problems in the future with the work he had done just to let him know and he would make it right. He said he stands behind his work. It was most refreshing to meet a professional business owner who has such an excellent work ethic and we would highly recommend him to everyone looking for an honest, hard working person who gets the job done!

Of all my Angie's List experiences so far, Roofing by Joe has, thus far, been my best. Last night I noticed a small water stain on a ceiling. I called Roofing by Joe this morning and the phone was answered by an extremely friendly person who clearly cared about my issue. She committed to getting Joe over this same day, and by golly by 1:30 PM he was here. That is amazingly fast service. Joe immediately was able to diagnose the problem as some nail pops that had gone through shingles and quickly fixed all the problems on the roof, at an extremely reasonable cost. Joe was professional, competent, friendly, and capable. I absolutely could not believe that my problems were resolved in less than a day. I would use Joe's services again ANY TIME and would recommend him highly to anyone who is having any issue with their roof.

Only delay was weather related

We had numerous leaks in our old roof, mostly due to improperly installed flashing. We chose to replace the entire roof rather than repairing the individual areas. Joe came promptly to give a price, and came to do the work on the agreed-upon day. He and the crew worked continuously and finished promptly. Cleanup afterward was thorough. His price was essentially identical to the other quote we received. He spent a lot of time fitting several layers of flashing around our rock chimney, which had been a major source of leaks before. We did have one small leak during extremely heavy rain, and Joe came the next day and determined that the cause of the leak was a failure in a skywindow gasket at the edge of the glass, rather than a leak in the new roof. He resealed the gaskets on this and the other sky windows.We are very happy with the results and would strongly recommend his work.

After checking with Angie's List, and hearing a personal recommendation from a close friend, we decided to go with Roofing by Joe to replace our 17 year old roof. Joe came out for an estimate and made recommendations for our particular roof. We discussed the entire job from insurance to shingle quality to guarantees. The estimate was reasonable for this size of roof and quality of roof shingles, and we scheduled the work. Heather, their scheduler, was very good, kept on top of the materials order, scheduling and communicating with us. It was a three-day job. Joe and his crew were prompt and professional. They thoroughly cleaned the site after each day's work. As promised, they are completely self-contained and could easily have done their work in our absence. Neither of us are roofers; however, it looks good and sound, and Joe is very good to work with. We agree with the many other excellent ratings they have on Angie's List. They have earned high marks.

I called Roofing By Joe and spoke to his office manager to arrange for an estimate to remove and install new shingles and new skylights. Joe came out and looked at the job and then sent me an estimate via email. I was very happy with the price as Joe is very reasonable. He had excellent reviews so we chose him to do the work. Joe started working 3 weeks before it was supposed to be started which was wonderful. His crew was very professional and arrived early every morning to get the job done. I could not believe they got finished as soon as they did. Everything was done per the contract and Joe did a much better job then my original roofer did. Joe was even understanding when i had trouble obtaining the last half of the money for the completion of the job. I let my insurance check expire and Joe did not bat an eyelash when i told him. I was two weeks or more late and he was very understanding. I would totally reccomend him and his crew!!!!

These folks were wonderful to work with, very personable and knowledgeable. Joe took his time explaining his work proposal in detail. They showed up promptly, when to work right away, and completed the job in one day. The yard was completely clear of debris when they finished. This company is outstanding.

There was a slight mix up with the schedule for my estimate but Joe was very apologetic. He gave me a very fair estimate and I decided to go with them. Boy did I make the right decision. Soon as the weather cleared up the crew was on the job! Showed up on time knocked the job out in one day. My father in law was a well established roofer for almost ten years and he was thoroughly impressed with Roofing by Joe. You want the job done right? Call Joe.

I felt like it took a bit of time between signing the contract with them and when they were able to schedule a definite date for my job (hence the slight markdown on responsiveness), but it was worth the wait! We were concerned because our old roof had been leaking, but they came out almost immediately and put a short-term fix in place to resolve that since they knew it would be a little while before they were able to get to me. I received estimates from several roofing companies, but Joe's estimate was the least expensive yet I had the best feeling about him and his degree of competence when he first came out to check things out (which was on a Saturday, by the way). It is worth noting that although we had an insurance settlement which was intended to cover part of the work, he was the only one who provided his honest quote without any interest in seeing the insurance values and paperwork. He gave specific examples of existing issues which would be corrected and good suggestions to improve things. When they finally scheduled the main job, they arrived early each day, worked hard throughout the day, did an exemplary job of cleaning up after themselves, and ultimately left us with a beautiful new roof at a very good price! Joe is honest, professional and clearly takes pride in what he does. I could not be happier with the end result!

I interviewed 5 experienced roofing contractors, all of which had good references. From the beginning, Joe stood out from the rest. From the prompt site inspection and bid submission to the very end of the job, he and his crew were exceptional! He worked along side his Team and oversaw every aspect of the job. EACH DAY, they left the site clean, picking up any pieces that fell into flowerbeds, etc.and then running a magnet throughout the parameter and finally blowing away any grit, etc. He has decades of experience and knows the roofing industry. He is honest and dependable. His bid was very competitive. He and his team certainly exceeded my expectations!!! I highly recommend him with no reservations.

Worked ahead of schedule and completed work in a professional manner

I contacted Roofing by Joe in the first week of Sept. (2014) to sched. a site visit for the prep of an estimate. Heather answered the phone, " Hello?" " Uh, is this Roofing by Joe?" " Yes." A little casual, but ok, with a name like Roofing by Joe, maybe that's their style/angle. I scheduled an appointment for the following Sat. at 10:30am when, I was assured that Joe would already be in Asheville... On the morning of the appointment I called to confirm... but got the answering machine. I left a message asking that someone confirm the appointment. Additional calls were made later that morning to confirm. No response, and no follow up to apologize and sched. another appointment. A week later, they were at the site, calling me... where was I? A mix up of dates it would appear, but wouldn't the secretary get that message and contact us to straighten it out before coming to the appoint. a week later?? At the very least I'd say that their administrative capacities are limited. That said, once we did get to clear the matter up I found them agreeable and knowledgeable. But really, how many people are prepared to wait 2.5 months to have their roof done? If that's you, maybe this is your guy.

I got a very quick polite response by phone, and then the work was done within a week. The hole and other storm damage was work on a very high metal roof and only a professional should be up there. We even had follow up done when I forgot to give him the 5% discount coupon for the Angie's list discount. I called and mentioned that. I had a refund check for the amount of the discount in the mail in 3 days. Would highly recommend this company, as the small repair I needed looks good and because they responded with doing the work so quickly, I avoided the big rainstorm a week later that would have damaged the things in my barn.

Joe's price was very competitive, and he gave us an additional 5% Angie's List discount. Joe and his crew were very punctual. He quoted 2 days for the job, but we had rain the first day. The work was completed on the third day. The quality of the work was excellent, and they did a very good job of cleaning up. Joe even volunteered to touch up the paint on one of the dormers.

Overall experience with Joe was fantastic. From the initial contact to set up the estimate of the job, I was very happy with the results. Joe was the only contractor who took the time to go on the roof during the estimate to examine the current condition and ask what problems we are experiencing with it. Joe explained in detail about his company and what you will expect from him if he was chosen to do the job. I chose Joe due to his honesty and the overall feeling that i could trust him. When I signed the contract, I sent the down payment along with the contract. Joe's secretary called me immediately upon receipt of contract and payment and thanked me for choosing them and told me that they will just hold on to the check until the job can be scheduled. Initially I was told the waiting period would be 30 days or possibly longer. In actuality, I didn't have to wait that long. The day of the job, they showed up early and had it completed by early afternoon. I was very impressed on how hard his staff worked and how they took the extra steps in protecting the plants and shrubs around the house. Joe allowed me to go on the roof anytime during the day to see the progress and asked any questions. Upon completion his staff went around the house with a large magnet to ensure they did not leave any nails or debris. The new roof looks fantastic and I feel confident that my new roof will give me many worry free years.

Went very well. Crew was done in jut more than a day. Shingle work looks great. Everything was cleaned up and no scraps or stray nails were left anywhere that I can find. We had a tough cricket area between 2 roof slopes, and that area is finished very well.

My first experience with Angie's List and a great one at that. We contacted Joe and received a response in short order and scheduled an appointment. Joe was actually able to come out sooner than expected and when he did it was hands down the best service I have had in quite some time. The problem was found quickly and repaired the SAME day...awesome. Joe took the time to explain exactly what the problem was and how it occurred as well as inspected the rest of the roof to insure no other problems existed. He also explained that work was guaranteed for a year and cleaned up what little mess there was when they were done. On top of that he was able to recommend other resources for additional work we may want to have done in the future. They are a small business. They are busy because they have great reputation. Joe works every job. He has employees to help but he works every job. The work cost less than I had expected.

Great job, punctual, professional, corrected the problem when other roofers were unable to do so.

This entire experience was excellent. I had shingles which had come loose and slid off roof and some that were damaged. I called Joe;s office and my call was answered and an appointment for an estimate set up for the next day. Joe came out and gave me an estimate and explained what needed to be done and what would be involved. Joe and his team came two days later and did the repair. I was very satisfied with the entire experience from the time I made the call, to the time the job was completed. I well definitely use Joe for my future roof needs.

Joe came out at the stated time to inspect the area needing repair at the agreed upon time and indicated that all that was required would be to reseal the flashing around the chimney as there were large gaps between the flashing and the chimney stone. I accepted his assessment and estimate and he did the required sealing on the spot with a one year warranty. Here is the back story: I had the chimney reflashed in September 2013 due to leaks. The original repair cost $1800 since the summer rains had let up, I never noticed that it was still leaking. When the summer rains hit in 2014, the leaks were worse than ever so I reached out to the initial contractor and he failed to show on multiple occasions at time set up by him. Given his previous work did not hold up and he failed to show up for his appointments, I decided to find another contractor to prevent further damage to the roof and house. After receiving several estimates of $900 (no warranty), $1400 (no warranty), $7200 (one year warranty) and then Joe's estimate that all that was required was resealing the flashing for $175 with a one year warranty. I was concerned with Joe's assessment o only requiring resealing and that the flashing was in fact, high quality. I questioned him on whether additional work should be done like replacing the flashing or water membrane. He was very knowledgeable and indicated the flashing was high quality and in his opinion, the previous contractor that installed the flashing did not remove the stone dust from the channels they carved into the chimney before they attempted to seal these areas which caused the caulking not to bond with the masonry which resulted in the leaks. Joe took the time to ensure I fully understood what the issue was and what probably caused it. No other contractor that came to provide and estimate did that, they took pictures and showed me the gaps between the stone and the flashing but nothing else. Given Joe's knowledge and assurance, I employed him to perform the work which he did on the spot. I know it is not normal to have the work done immediately but given the immediacy of the need and the low complexity of the repairs, Joe performed the necessary repairs on the spot. We have had two downpours since the repairs and there are currently no leaks. I am confident in Joe's repairs and if there is a problem I am confident Joe will make good on his one year warranty. Time will tell if the repairs last but if I have any additional roofing needs, I will call Joe. I highly recommend him for his honesty, work ethic and knowledge.
