As noted above, Joe did the requested repairs and some additional work around the vent pipes. He also blew the gutters out for me. Originally, I thought that I would need a full roof replacement, but Joe determined that the roof was sound other than needed areas of repair. His honesty regarding the condition of my roof saved me significant money. Joe and his worker arrived on time, did the work, cleaned up. They were both very friendly and Joe explained everything to me regarding the repair. When I do actually need a new roof, I will call Joe.

Joe came when the contractor I had did not show up. He was prompt on coming for an estimate. He showed up the day he said he would and did a great job.

Joe repaired roof leaks around the 2 roof vents and plumbing stack. He also replaced the 2 roof vents. He did a great job, although I had 2 rescheduled appointments because of rain delays. The phone is always answered "hello" and I always had to ask " is this roofing by joe?" Seems like a small family run operation. I had 3 estimates from highly rated Angies list contractors. Estimates were $1,600 and 1,200. Joe did job for $825.

Joe was very responsive from the get go; he came out to do a bid the day after we called. During the bid, he explained a great deal about roofing to me, which I appreciated. He explained why we had the leaks we did and how he could do the new job to prevent those problems. We talked about insurance; he was very professional about offering his insurance information. He sent a contract and scheduled work in about 2 weeks, which we needed to get a chimney rebuilt. The contract was excellent; thorough and very fair to both sides. I spoke with his wife several times on the phone making arrangements and she is very pleasant, friendly and professional as well. Joe's bid was significantly higher than my other two bids, but the difference in professionalism was significant enough that we knew the premium price would be well worth it and we were right. He and his workers showed up on time, were very professional, clean, polite, and pleasant. They worked hard every day and worked fast, and they did not damage any landscaping or the gutters - in fact they cleaned the gutters, and laid tarps to catch debris. I had some questions and Joe was extremely thoughtful about explaining each thing I had questions about. He ran a magnet for nails at the end of each day and in the middle of the day if we had to move a car. One of the unknowns of roofing jobs is how much rot they are going to find (or say they found) and what those extra charges will be. Despite several rotted areas where we had leaks Joe was able to cover them with two sheets of plywood by planning cuts very carefully, limited our added cost to $120. The day Joe finished I called to ask him about two concerns I had (some red dusty chalk on some shingles and a solar tube lining that looked loose). Joe came to house within two hours and fixed them both cheerfully and thanked me for calling him about them. That really impressed me. There are jobs that you can do on the cheap, but roofing is not one of them, in my opinion. Knowing that your roofer is insured is huge. Knowing that Joe will return cheerfully to address any problems that develop, knowing that the shingle manufacturer's warranty will be honored because of his installation standards, and having the job go seamlessly and quickly with no surprises is well worth the investment.

We had an appointment for someone to come give us an estimate. They didn't show, nor did they call. I even called them thinking that maybe there was an emergency. Nope. No answer. I also had made an appointment with J&J Construction. They had an emergency with their son and had to go out of state. I could hear the concern/fear in the mother's voice and yet she still called me to let me know what was happening. She gave me the name of another roofer to make sure our needs were met. Now they are professionals and Roofing by Joe are flakes!

I thought the pricing was high. I thought that was kinda a lot for 15-20 minutes of work. But they were on time and everything else. They did give me a discount for being an Angie’s List member.

It went extremely well. Joe's crew is very professional; the price was less than we initially expected; they were on-time; and they cleaned up very well. Because of the rainy weather, we knew it would take a while for Joe to get to us, but it was only a week after he initially said they would get there. The work took 3 days, and, again, they are very professional in all the positive ways. We would highly recommend them.

We call Roofing by Joe and within 10 minutes they returned our call, he came to our house in less than an hour, saw what the problem was and quoted us a price for the repair. He went to work right away and was done in less than an hour. Also told us of another problem with the chimney and gave us the name of someone he trust to do a good job. Very polite and courteous and will definitely will call him again.

It was excellent he was great since then we have had him come back and do other repairs.

We chose "Roofing by Joe" based upon the high recomendations we read here on Angie's List. So many people said so many good things about Joe and his company that he seemed to be the logical choice. Plus, I liked that he is a 'local' contractor. I prefer, when possible, to give my business to a local entrepreneur. My only issue with "Roofing by Joe" is that he was a bit difficult to contact. However, once we got on the same page, Joe and his assistants arrived promptly on each of the three days agreed upon and worked diligently throughout the day, despite the chilly March temperatures. The whole job was totally professionally done. One of the most impressive aspects of their job performance is that they so carefully took pains to ensure that no damage was caused to shurbbery from debris falling from the roof. They even went to the extent of covering several raised flower beds with tarps to prevent any material from falling into them! At the end of each days' work, they went around the perimeter of the house with a large magnet to pick up any stray nails which may have fallen as well as any pieces of shingle material which had somehow 'jumped off the roof! Fantastic! I am extremely impressed with their dedication to detail in making sure that everything was done right, especially in light of the fact of all the significant rain we have had in the Hendersonville/Asheville area since early spring. It's peace of mind to know that "Roofing by Joe" is a company who cares enough to do their very best! Would I use them again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them to friends and neighbors? Most Definitely!

To start with, Roofing By Joe was the only contractor that brought a ladder and actually climbed onto the roof, inspected and measured. Joe Whitson seemed focused on detail, that is what won the job, not the cost which was higher than most. The job was a little over a month getting started but we have had tons of rain this summer and had no leak issues so no problem. Actually Joe and crew went above and beyond what was bid on, like painting chimmey cap to match trim and any room left in dump trailer going to the dump was filled with stuff to save me a trip, +++. Cleanup was a constant endevor because we had the asphalt shingles were removed loads of nails. All work completed as estimated time and it's beautiful, well worth a few extra bucks to get it done right. After the job was completed I drove around looking at the quality of the competion and Jo has got it hands down.

The owner and his team were on time, cleaned up each day and kept the promised schedule. They were very pleasant and professional and answered all our questions. We appreciated the fact that they did not roll all over our lawn with a large truck.

We would defintely use Roofing by Joe again and highly recommend him for any roofing job. no show!!!!!!!! they called on one of the appointments to cancel because of rain, this was okay because we agreed on time for another appointment, but they failed to call or show up.

Talked to his office 3 different times for appointment, of the 3 times calling for appointment, they called back once for cancellation because of rain. They did not showup or call to cancel the other two times.

It didn't go, no one showed up and no one called to explain why they didn't show up! Would not recommend this service provider!!

They arrived on time, assessed the problem, and had it fixed within the hour. In addition Joe sprayed the damage on the inside of my house until I could get it painted. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.

I called Joe's Roofing and got a quote the same day. He repaired roof leaks on two houses for me as soon as weather permitted. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

He did a great job. They did really good work. They provided the most comprehensive estimate and it was timely. He left samples of the shingles with his estimate. He was one of three that I called and he was the only one that gave me an estimate or showed up. He ultimately had the best price. I didn't have any issues with anything.

The job went perfect. Due to our schedule we were out of state during the roofing job. Joe communicated with us via phone when needed. Couldn't ask for things to go any better than it did.

This was a great experience from start to finish !! I called for an estimate. Joe showed up promptly. Joe explained what I should expect if he was selected. Joe's wife called and let me know in advance when Joe would show up. Joe and his crew showed up at 8:00AM. They started work and NEVER stopped!! I have never seen a crew work so hard and so fast. By 4:00PM they were finished except for the skylight which was on order and had not come in yet. The crew cleaned the yard and during and before they finished. Joe came back and installed my skylight. We have had heavy rain and wind in the last couple of days. There have been no leaks. I would strongly recommend Roofing by Joe. They were great !!!

Roofing By Joe was fine. They treated me fair. They've done everything correctly.

I can't speak highly enough of Joe and his crew! Prior to coming to replace the roof Joe came out twice and 'patched' where I had a couple of leaks to get me by until the new roof could be done. Neither time did he charge me for doing this. The day they arrived to replace the roof I heard them up on the roof it sounded like Santa and his crew had landed on the roof. They worked just as fast and in two days had the old roof removed, the chimney removed and a beautiful new architectural shingle roof on my home. They didn't leave one scrap of trash on my property and they very thoroughly "swept" the property for nails with a magnet. They even adjusted one of my gutters that was not draining properly for me! The only extra charge on my bill was $40 for the 3-4 repairs they did on the roof deck and rake. Joe has already spoken to two of my neighbors on my recommendation and I will continue to share his cards with anyone needing an honest roofer who does exceptional work!

He reported that my roof was fine, but that my stucco had not been sealed properly during construction. There was no charge. He gave me a great recommendation for the repair work while his assistant unclogged a gutter. Amazing customer service. Great experience. Joe came and gave us an estiamate on a Saturday, this was so convenient for us. They arrived punctually for the install and finished when they said. Cleaned up nothing even looked like they had been.
