Of course our AC went "on the fritz" on the hottest day of the year. All the other repair companies we contacted said it would be a week or more before they could get to us. Johns offered to send someone that evening (for an extra fee) or they could come the next morning, which they did. Their service technicians were professional, knowledgable and efficient. I'll call them first if we have another problem. My sister, who lives in Greensboro , said she'd had a sililar positive experience with Johns.

Used them once before for the back up sewer line. They were very prompt and did a good job. Needed a line from the street to the house replaced. Misquoted on the price and it ended up being much more expensive. They did not charge us the difference. We will be using them for our furnace and A/C maintenance.

They are prompt. They are reliable. The quality of their work is good. I would use them in the future.

The overall experience was positive. He was very professional and knowledgable and we would use him again.

Took about 1 hour. Charged a flat fee for doing the work. The pump could be bought at the supply house for $320. Would not break the bill down in materials and labor. Very disappointed in this company.

I had called this company to have them fix a leaking sink and dishwasher in my rental unit to help my tenant. They called my tenant left a voice mail. My tenant called them right back leaving a voicemail and never heard back. I am going on the hearsay of my tenant but believe her since they wanted the problem fixed ASAP. They had to call another plumber a couple days later since they didn't hear back.

Great work, quite pleased - enough to have them here 3 times in 5 months.

Things went well. Only thing I didn't like was how they try to push other services and products. But all companies do that, so not a big deal.

On Dec 5 (a Sunday morning), the first toilet overflowed from underneath, flooding the bathroom. Then the second toilet filled up and wouldn't flush, causing the shower drain to back up. I called John's for emergency weekend service and the repairmen were here by noon. Although it took them quite some time to find the problem with the clogged drain, they were finally able to unclog both toilets and explained to me exactly what had happened. Once the sewer line was clogged, the first toilet (an old model) overflowed from the bottom due to a worn-out seal. I had been planning to replace that toilet because it used an inordinate amount of water to flush and the seat was too low for comfort. The repairman told me he could order a new toilet and, if I had the work done within 30 days of the emergency repair, I wouldn't have to pay for a second service charge for installation. I took him up on the offer and the new toilet was ready for installation within 4 days. There were some mixups and several instances of breakage before they finally were able to install the correct model, but I am very happy with my new low-volume, comfort height toilet.

They were very prompt and professional. It took about two days for them to come out when I called them but they did come when they said they would. I ended up picking our tile contractor and we decided to use the plumber that our tile contractor had recommended just because it would be easier for them to work together. They had to come out to do the shower work. So there was a lot of back and forth. I wish they were able to come out sooner but I understand the problem. I would use their services in the future too.

The technician came to our house within 30 minutes of our call. This meant alot as the temperatures were rising to the 80's inside. Very prompt, courteous and professional service.

On a routine maintenance check of the furnace and a/c, a technician told me that the furnace needed immediate replacement, at an estimated cost of $3,500. The unit had not shown any problems. He said he could patch it up temporarily, but that the furnace would quit momentarily. I okayed "temporary" repairs that cost around $700. I always get multiple quotes for large items such as this. Two other companies looked at the unit and said it was fine. If I did want a new unit, their estimates for ones of similar size were closer to $2,500 than $3,500. When I called John's again to ask for another look, they didn't show for the first two scheduled visits. On the third attempt, they sent the same technician. This time he admitted that the unit wasn't in as bad a shape as he thought previously, but he said I still needed a new one. I called the manager, whose response was, "No one has ever complained about this technician before." I told the manager I was ending my service contract and would not be using John's again. However, in a few months I began receiving reminder notices for seasonal maintenance. I ignored the notices until they began threatening legal action to recover money due (for services that had not been requested or performed). I had to write another explanation and ask to be taken off the mailing list. Yesterday, about 2 years after the last contact, I received another preventative maintenance reminder. I'm using it as a reminder to post about this experience in Angie's List. Maybe when the managers read this report, they'll take my name off the mailing list. And the original furnace? Still going strong.

We have a gas furnace with an electric ignition. The pilot light wasn't being ignited by the system consistently. The service man, Howard, came out to evaluate it. Unfortunately, the system was working as it should while he was here so he wasn't able to properly diagnose the problem. He said it could be one of two things but was reluctant to replace any parts since he didn't know which one was causing the problem. He advised me to call them again when the unit was malfunctioning so they could diagnose the problem.

They are so professional and I get the same technicians sent to me all of the time. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I am very pleased with them.

I called on Thursday morning very early (7:45) expecting to get an answering machine but someone was already there. I described my problem hoping to get someone out there to look at the situation that day but was told that they didn't have anyone available to come but would be there first thing Friday AM. Two technicians arrived at 8:45 Friday morning, looked at the problem and told me that it would require anywhere from 2 to 5 hours to fix - but they couldn't do it then as they had a full calendar with other appointments. They quoted me a price and told me that they would have someone come first thing Monday to fix the problem. The technician, Justin, showed up at 9AM on Monday completed the job.

John's Plumbing sent 2 men here within 6 hours of our call. They snaked the line through a roof vent and quickly solved the problem. They also improved a bath tub drain and a minor problem in another bathroom and were all done in an hour or so. They returned the next day to replace/repair two sink traps that seemed to be draining slightly slow and might have been affected by the initial snaking - at no charge.

The serviceman called ahead of time to see if I could meet him earlier than the appointed time. He was prompt, efficient, polite, and didn't mind all my questions. He even gave his professional opinion of a system to replace mine when that is necessary. The serviceman saved me money by rewiring around the circuit board rather than charging me for a new one ($450). The service call was $79.95 with an additional $40 for the labor and wiring. I will call them when it's time to replace my heat pump.

Our house is 4 1/2 years old and I have never been happy with the service provided by the builder's HVAC company of choice. So, I eventually started shopping around and found John's to be responsive to my many questions and concerns. They are more expensive than others, but I felt like I was certain to get better service and so so far I couldn't be happier. We have two HVAC units in our 2400 ft home, but every year we end up having to get one of the units refilled. This has made me sick from both a cheapness and environmental point of view. We switched to John's and the technician was extremely polite, well-spoken and knowledgeable. He was on-time for the appointment and even called to say he was on his way. He gave an accurate estimation of the time involved and cleaned up his work area. We purchased the Silver protection plan, hence the $500 cost for the two units. This cost included spring and autumn maintenance, 12 filters (6 per unit), no-charge for diagnostic/service calls and discounts on repairs. However, it is a discount on not just HVAC maintenance, but also plumbing issues (if they should arise). The other $250 was a discounted rate for the freon and repair.

Two plumbers came within 2 hours of calling the company. They examined the toilet and began to snake, removed the clog shortly thereafter. Noticed the tank was still leaking and they determined that a new ballcock should be installed. They gave me the option of doing it myself later or having them do it now, as they had the part in the truck. I was in a rush and had them do it; the total price for all services performed was high, but standard for the industry. Side note: 3 months later I had similar problems with the toilet and discovered on my own that the flush valve was cracked at the bottom, causing the leaks, NOT the ballcock. I got the part from Lowes and did it myself in under an hour.

This was the worst plumbing company ever. They had to send the supervisor out to fix what the first guy didn t. I don t remember how much I paid but I would never use them again.

The workers arrived as scheduled and completed the work quickly. The slow drainage problems we had been experiencing were corrected. The men who came were polite and there was no mess left behind. I do think their prices were a bit high for the time they spent doing the work, but they did a good job and all plumbers are expensive.

When they installed the unit, they were great. They were caring of our property and respected us one hundred percent. They were friendly, very knowledgeable and they answered all of our questions. We would highly recommend them to other people.

Our realtor recommended having John's Plumbing take a look at a house we were looking at buying. We called John's and set up an appointment to have the HVAC and plumbing checked out. The person setting up the appointment told me that it would cost one fee for both a plumber and HVAC guy check the systems out and give us estimates. That cost was $79.95 which was charged to my credit card. I also confirmed with the technicians that I was only charged one fee total and they agreed. Interestingly, several months later I got another charge on my card for $60 without notice. After calling to find out why I was charged the office manager told me they do not send guys out for free. If that was the case then why wasn't this charged the first time 2 months earlier? And why wasn't I contacted when you charged my card 2 months later? Unfortunately, what was a good experience with good people turned out to be a bad experience for $60.00. That is sad!

The old one that we had died and they did an excellent job with the installation. I was pleased with the service and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They were professional, clean, and they answered all of my questions.

The company arrived right on time as scheduled. They are courteous, honest and experienced. Upon completion, the plumber cleaned up the area.
