our furnace was falling apart and needed immediate replacement due to multiple hot spots on heat exchange and failing blower. we did receive a quote for a rebuild but decided to go with the new system, a 95% efficient 2 stage gas furnace and 14 seer ac unit, along with 2 new air supplys to replace a too-small single supply and an additional vent in a back bedroom. Tom listened to our needs and gave us several replacement options. ,On the first day of install the crew arrived on time, worked as inconspicuously as possible and left no mess. they turned the heat on so we would not have to run space heaters they arrived on time the next day as well and finished up their work, adding the new supplys and vents .Christmas eve the heat failed. A tech came over at the time agreed ( we were heading out for a service and did not want to miss it so the technician offered to meet us afterward) and fixed the issue, which was due to a pump float sticking - the kind of thing that could happen to anyone at any time. we also had the ducts cleaned at a later scheduled time as part of the cost. they brought in a large machine to suctin the lines from the trunk of the ductwork and then blew air from above to force all the dirt to the vac. again, the servicemen were professional, friendly, and highly competent. as to the cost, we could have gone for a cheaper install but this included 5 years of maintenance (about 250.00 a year) so when we factored this in the price was not much different. when you consider the level of service we received then there was truly no difference We would highly recommend the team at CCA for your heating and air needs
Description of Work: installed new furnace and ac units to replace 18 yr old system. also had ductwork cleaned

They did a great job. Went the extra mile to clean out my units inside and out. Even waxed them which I didn't even know could be done. Very professional and courteous. Went ahead and bought the Service agreement to save money.

I was charged $309 for Central Carolina Air Conditioning to come out to my home and tell me my air conditioning unit was leaking. $309 dollars without anything being fixed and without providing me with a quote for the other items I needed. I called and spoke with two separate people to express my concern regarding this charge which I knew was high after calling a competitor to confirm. No one was sympathetic or even nice on the phone. Will not use this company again.
Description of Work: I scheduled a service call for Central Carolina Air Conditioning to temporarily repair my air conditioning unit as well as to quote several other items needed in order for the unit to operate properly. They could only perform a leak test and told me my unit was leaking. They were not able to provide any sort of temporary fix nor quote any of the other items requested and told me they would have to come back with another technician in order to provide a quote.

Mr. [member name removed], As promised, we looked into the situation for you. Our normal process is to give repair options right on the spot. We understand you wanted some modifications to the existing system, - advanced repairs; so our best bet was to get some additional support and come back when the Mr was available. What we did on this visit was to look at the system, added some Freon as it was low and to check the system performance and determined there was a leak and also discovered the thermo-expansion device was bad. Based on Chris’s conversation with your wife, the best option was to get our installation manager involved to help quote all the additional work they wanted. This additional call would have been no charge for Central Carolina Air to come back. Since you are not a maintenance service customer, we quoted you the $309.00 price that you agreed to before the work diagnostic began. We’d be happy to return at no charge to quote the additional work needed, but do feel we billed you fairly for what we did. The charge included 2 pounds of Freon and we added 4 at no additional charge to you. Please let us know if you would like for us to come back at no charge to review the rest of the unit and advise how to best move forward.

Service was excellent and continues to be. The installation was done very well except for a miscalculation on the headspace needed but they quickly removed the HeatPump and fixed the problem. Ongoing support is totally acceptable. Only problem is their price compared to others in the business. Just seems high.

The inspection went well. Chris tested and cleaned my heating system and gave me a report of its condition. The system itself is nearly 20 years old, so Chris keeps me updated on the condition of various parts.
Description of Work: I have a heating and air conditioning annual maintenance contract with CCACC which includes two inspections per year. The serviceman, Chris, came out to complete the second inspection.

The work was completed and everything is functional. In retrospect, I felt that we were pushed to replace and not repair because of a repeated suggestion that a leak was likely to occur unexpectedly. Tony (the plumbing technician) even said that the very process of the repair, might lead to a leak! Remember that we had a complete inspection less than 6 months ago, and they did not replace a nearly gone flapper then. I wonder if they looked at it? I would think that there should have been a much greater emphasis on maintaining my products, than scaring me to replace them. For the flapper, the diagnosis of the problem, was nearly 20 times price of the part. We were also charged a $20 service charge. Our Preventive Maintenance contract, says that we get a "preferred price". Hmmmmmm? I would be writing a very different review if I felt that we got a good value repair. We did not! Incidentals like the flapper and service charge, should be gratis, at $578 for a toilet replacement, when we are on a contract with a plumbing company.
Description of Work: Came to check two poorly flushing toilets. We have the plumbing maintenance plan with them. All fixtures were checked about 5 months ago. We expected a few adjustments to get us operational. The recommendation was $266 to "rebuild" the two toilets. That seemed high, and was poorly explained. I was told that the fixes might only last 4-5 months. There was some rust on the bolts of one toilet, that was pointed out to me. It was stated to be a risk for future leaking. We had known about a crack in the bowl. So had already considered replacing it. We were given the option to replace both toilets with a "high end" Toto, brand; for $1156. I elected to replace the cracked toilet with the Toto ($578), and rebuild the other toilet. The rebuild was $98 for a flapper. Flappers cost $5 at Lowe's, and go on easily.

They came for their semi annual service. They seem to do a through job and let you know when a part is going bad in our case a compassiter was going bad. We chose to replace inorder to keep them from having to come back at a later date. We have not had any problems with our system. We had it replaced before when it went completely out and we did not have a contract with anyone so it was an emergency call and it cost us over $100. I would rather it be caught early and cost less with regular maintanence.

Service is always excellent. They respond rapidly to any service call. Techs are extremely professional, polite, complete, neat and respectful. They have serviced our systems since 1996 with no complaints from us about anything. When our larger system failed they replaced it with an excellent American Standard heat pump which is quiet, efficient. The warranties provided are beyond anything we had seen from other suppliers. Cost? Let's just say they are VERY proud of their work! If you want peace of mind and assured comfort, they will deliver for a price. We just pray our other system holds on!

I was worried because I could not get the thermostat under 80 degrees and in the past that has meant replacing the unit costing thousands after talking with my brother who used them and also remembered we had used them in the past combined with the reviews on Angie list I called them around seven or eight in the morning and a technician was at my door within two hours, he was very professional, repairing and cleaning the unit both outside and in the attic and answered all questions and now it's working great, I will definitely call them again.

The representative was right on time and very respectful of my need to conclude the meeting at a specific time.
Description of Work: I asked CCAC to quote me on replacing my gas furnace and air conditioning based on a friend's recommendation. The rep was very courteous and clearly very well informed. He taught me more about my HVAC system than I'd learned in 12 years in this home. Unfortunately, the bid was nearly double the lowest bid. I'm sure theirs is a good product and my friend raves about their service, but way too pricey for me.

I observed the entire installation process. It was professional, efficient, and quick. The installation crew arrived the morning of September 12, and that night we had quiet, efficient air conditioning. A technician came the next day to tidy up loose ends, complete all necessary items for city/county inspections, and make final adjustments to the system. The crew were polite, clean, professional, and very competent. We know that a careful and professional installation, along with necessary periodic maintenance, are essential to the long-term life and enjoyment of a heat pump system. We are confident that Central Carolina Air Conditioning knows how to keep customers satisfied and will stand behind their work for many years to come.
Description of Work: Our 27-year-old Bryant heat pump finally gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago, helped along considerably by Advanced Appliance Service, Inc. (q.v.). We needed to replace our entire heat pump system for both cooling and heating. Central Carolina was the first of several contractors to answer our plea for bids. The technician/manager who came to evaluate our situation, Mike Marshall, was extremely professional and submitted such an impressive proposal that we had to award the contract to him. This was a complex installation. The steps leading up to our deck had to be moved in order to make room for today's larger compressor units. The 27-year-old air handler had to be removed from a crawlspace and a new air handler had to be put in place. A new condensate drain and refrigerant lineset had to be installed. The new system had to be set up, vacuum pulled on the new coil and lineset, and a new thermostat wired and configured.
