Description of Work: Replaced blower motor and control board in the air handler. Jeff and the other folks in his company were professional and prompt. They focused on fixing the problem with our unit rather than just recommending a replacement.

Description of Work: Had to replace an old heat pump. Got several estimates. Jeff Starnes of Dudley Shoals Heat & Air turned in the low bid. As an independent contractor, he offered to install any brand of heat pump I'd want. We chose Carrier, one of the brands he recommended which was also among the top Consumer Reports ratings as well. Removal of the old and installation of the new unit took about 5 hours. The crew was very polite and considerate; cleaned up everything before they left. One little glitch, soon after they left I noticed the condensation drain line from the inside unit was leaking. The installation crew leader hadn't left a business card or phone number, but I called the main company number and Jeff soon had one of them back out to fix it. No problems since then (2 weeks).

Description of Work: Jeff and his crew replaced an undersized heat pump with a dual heat pump gas furnace system appropriately size for our house. There were no problems at all with the new installation. The crew was professional and the cost for the system was better than I expected. Jeff Stearns will be taking care of my heat and A/C needs for the foreseeable future.

Description of Work: We were frantic because something was very wrong with our air conditioning unit. We could hear how funny it started to sound. My hubby was calling all of these phone numbers and I gave him the number for this company, he called and the man said that he had a guy in Lenoir and when he was done with that job he would send him right over to our house. The AC Unit needed a new Compassitor (sp?). We were very happy with the price and that they would come out on a minute's notice on a Friday around 5 or 6 pm.! Great company and would definitely use them again! |

+ -1 moreProblem with downstairs cooling from heat pump. Called after 9:00pm the nite before and left message. He returned call before 8:30am the next morning. Ask him if at all possible, could he check it out same day. Long story short, by 9:30am (yes, in one hour) he arrived, checked everything out and completed all the work. Very courteous, prompt and punctual. Recommend highly; we are now on his list to perform yearly maintenance!

+ -1 moreThe owner came out and checked our old heat pump. We knew we would probably have to replace it as it was giving problems for the past year. He gave an estimate. We called twice to ask further questions about filters and allergy-related problems. He did not try to sell us additional products but just answered our questions and gave us estimates on products we asked about. That was appreciated. The new heat pump was ordered and here within a week or so. At the last minute I decided to get a different thermostat, no problem.We chose the day for the work. Unfortunately for them, it was the coldest day of the year! They were very respectful, polite, and helped program the new thermostat. The owner called near the end of the installation to check on everything and said he would call again 3 days later to check again, which he did. He is sending in the warranty information on the heat pump and will do any work if necessary for it.
