I couldn't have been happier. Scheduling the service visit was extremely easy. We a\had to go out of town the next day, so I asked for an appointment for about a week out. The woman on the phone was almost shocked to get a request for an appointment so far in the future! (I'm guessing they probably do a lot of rapid turn around work). The electrician that showed up was very knowledgeable, totally professional, and did a great job. Before replacing the outlet he verified that there weren't any larger issues with the electrical in general (there weren't) and gave us some suggestions on new safely features that could prevent this type of dangerous situation in the future. Such a pleasure to work with outstanding individuals like this!

Darryl treated me and my home with respect and care. He listened to my concerns and provided me with options. He was honest and straightforward then proceeded with my choice efficiently and effectively. After testing he confirmed that the stove was the culprit and that my aging panel box had done as it was supposed to do. So, the electrical outlet only needed to be secured. I will be calling Volt Doctors when I need any electrical work done.

It went very well; the appointment for a technical serviceman was made to match my convenience, the man (Darryl R.) called to advise of his imminent arrival, and was there when promised. He performed in a professional and courteous manner, listening to my description of the problem, then applied his technical skills and experience to isolate and reactivate the problem circuits. He described his diagnosis to me as I had asked him to, then fixed the faults in good time. I would strongly recommend Volt Doctors and Darryl for any electrical needs, from minor repairs to major installations.

Experience was great. I was given a window of time and James F. called to tell me he had been delayed because of problems getting gas. He came in and replaced the motors in both bathroom exhaust fans while explaining what he was doing and giving me some tips for improving performance in the future. He was very polite and professional and cleaned up where work as well as carrying away the parts he removed. In addition, he replaced a couple of bulbs in my track lighting that I couldn't reach.

Smooth as silk. They came out quickly to look at the work and give me an estimate on the spot. The price was very competitive. Once I decided to go with them, they were able to fit me in very quickly. Chad R was very prompt, for both the develop the estimate and to perform the work. Very friendly, polite and professional.

The electrician, James Frazier, was professional and efficient. He had both fans put together and installed in about two hours. The cost of the installation was significantly reduced once we told him we had found Volt Doctors through Angie's List! I would happily use them again.

.Chad came out and performed the diagnostics and explained in detail what he would be checking as part of the diagnostics. He was very professional and responsive to finding and fixing the problem. Perfectly, I called Volt who I found on Angie's List, Steve was dispatched that day and arrived within a short time. The problem was quickly diagnosed, he called me to review (he kindly called me between my work meetings as I requested), and the repair was done within the hour. My tenant and I could not be more pleased.

They got to me within 60 minutes of my call and discovered it wasn't my smoke detector. Located the problem ( old carbon m detector) and solved the issue all with professionalism and a great attitude.

I called Volt Doctors. Kenny Markham was at our house to diagnose the problem within an hour of my call. The problem was in our garage ceiling. Kenny couldn’t get the required access until I took down an overhead garage storage unit and all the stuff stored up there, so I had some work to do before the repair could be done. We scheduled Kenny to come back first thing the next morning. Kenny was very prompt in getting back to me when I had things ready for him. He answered all my questions very patiently, did great work, and was a delight to work with. The person I worked with in the office, Stephanie, was also very personable and helpful. The price was very fair. The response to my need was outstanding from both Stephanie and Kenny. I would use Volt Doctors again without hesitation and am happy to recommend them to others.

I made the appointment first thing in the morning to repair a circuit breaker that had failed overnight. I had an appointment for between 4 & 6 that afternoon. But our electrician, Kenny, called at 11 to say he could come right over. He was personable and professional and very diligent in troubleshooting the problem. Turns out it was not the circuit breaker. He was very thorough in figuring out what the problem actually was and although it took a lot longer than simply replacing a circuit breaker, he was quick to repair the real culprit. I would recommend them highly in the future.

Excellent!!! This is the second time I've used Volt Doctors and they are extremely prompt, courteous professional and have done excellent work. I've used their services more than once for good reason and will continue to rely on them for all of my electrical needs. So happy to find a good electrician!

We have an old house in Durham and had purchased 3 replacement fans to be installed. The ceiling fan was replaced on the first day, and another electrician was sent out the second day to replace the fans in the two bathrooms. Because the existing fans were very, very old, and the new fans were much larger, it was clear he had a job ahead of him! Floor boards in the attic needed to be pulled up, the venting in the attic needed to be checked, both ceilings needed to be cut (and we are not talking about the modern drywall!) - I tell you it was a messy, messy job! James F. just got to work, never complained, was so pleasant and knowledgeable about old houses and the challenges they bring. I will always be grateful to James F. for his wonderful attitude and professionalism!

The estimate went fine. They were punctual. What happened afterward is strange. We did not have any service done because they never followed up after the initial estimate. I don't know what happened. No response to my emails or phone calls. I would not recommend them.

Of every electrician I contacted in Durham, they were the only ones to get back to me! And they responded that day. Scheduled within a week, helpful and friendly. Eric (I think the service manager) was easily reachable and responsive to questions I had about billing. Very wonderful service. I was not home when the work was done, my husband was there, but had no complaints. Very friendly guys.

Called for an estimate. Set an appointment for him to come out. I re-arranged my schedule to meet him. Two hours after the agreed time I called him. Judging by how the conversation went, I believe he forgot. He apologized and said that he got tied up with emergency calls. Asked for my name and looked in his notes and found me. Wanted to reschedule appointment. I decided not to reschedule. If he is too busy to call when he is not going to show up, I do not want to trust him with my business. I am getting estimates from others on your list.

The House Doctors had to truly live up to their name with our job! They rewired the attic space we converted to a playroom. all the wiring and technical issues had been done poorly by our first contractor and the House Doctors remained positive, patient, honest, and willing to do a job most others who quoted me complained about doing or didn't want to do. Their worked passed inspection with the county- our final metric to finish the renovation! These guys were respectful, cleaned up after themselves, were on time, tremendously responsive and accommodating regarding scheduling, came back to fix any outstanding issues expeditiously, and were very respectful and aware of being in and out of our home as they worked. I would recommend and call them back in a heart beat!

In addition to being responsive and quick, I was impressed that Andy gave me thorough explanations and advice to upgrade our outlets to GFCI and perhaps install a whole-house surge protector. He charged me for the diagnostic only and offered to answer any other questions I had. We have a bedroom without a ceiling light fixture, and he examined it and gave me several options and quotes for installing a light and/or ceiling fan. He wrote everything down so I'd be able to refer to it later and told me to call him if I had any other issues, no matter how small or big. A week after the outlets were fixed, our A/C was acting up: blowing cold air outside while the temperature inside stayed hot. Air was blowing, but not strong or cold. Called Andy and he came out the same morning, determined a new part was needed for the compressor. He went right to the dealer, returned with the part, installed it, and all was well. He also checked the refrigerant levels and told me about a maintenance plan. As the first time, he wrote everything down and asked if I wanted him to check out anything else. Highly recommended!

A circuit of five outlets had suddenly stopped working. After unsuccessfully trying to diagnose it myself, I called House Doctors. The technician came out the day I called and quickly ran down the problem (a loose wire in one of the outlets). I also needed to have a GFCI outlet installed prior to crawlspace encapsulation work that I had scheduled. He performed this work while he was here. All the work took less than an hour. I would definitely use House Doctors again.
