Two Men & A Truck

Description of Work: I used Two Men and a Truck for a local and relatively simple move in Raleigh in mid-May 2014. The office staff was courteous and professional, explaining my move and packing options. I packed myself and used my own boxes, paper, tape, etc. so I'm not sure if they sell those items or provide them as part of the moving cost. If you have moved before, (and I have) you know the crew who comes to your house is really what makes a move a success or a nightmare. Fortunately this move was a huge success! The two man team showed up on time, took extra care of my furniture and placed everything in my new house exactly where I asked. The best part was when their supervisor showed up at my new house to see if everything was to my liking. Of course he was checking on the crew also, and I don't know if that is common practice for all customers, but it was a nice added touch. They charged me by the hour since it was a local move, however, for a good crew, I would definitely pay a little more. | |Please remember these guys work hard and when it's hot outside they appreciate being offered a cold drink and perhaps a bathroom break. The office will charge your credit card $100 (deposit) the day before your move and you will be expected to pay the balance when the move is completed. I gave them each a $20 tip plus a bottle of water for the road. I would definitely use Two Men and a Truck again and highly recommend them.

Description of Work: The crew who moved us were top-notch. I can't say enough about them and the job they did for us of packing, moving, and setting up the beds in our new apartment. |However, I gave the company an overall rating of "B", simply because the estimator grossly underestimated the job. What was to be a $1400.00, 4 hour pack job turned into over $1900.00 with 8 hrs of packing. Plus the lack of packing materials provided to the crew had to be replenished by another employee. |Would I use them again? Probably, but with a greater understanding.

Description of Work: These guys did an incredible job. The original estimator, Jeff, badly mis-estimated the job, but the guys powered through and took care of the job. These guys (6 guys, two trucks, for a move to a 5200 SF house) rocked. Virtually no damage. The move did take double the time (meaning two days), and so nearly double the money, but i do not blame the moving crew, I actually asked them to stop for safety reasons. The estimator was just terrible at his job. My wife even tried to explain to him that we had previously moved with MORE than a full 18 wheeler. From what I have learned, this guy is totally incompetent. So, I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND Two Men and a Truck, but i would RUN AWAY FROM JEFF THE ESTIMATOR.

Description of Work: Our movers arrived on time. They were so nice and laughed with us at our "mess." Everything was carefully moved and placed where we wanted it. We only hired them to move our heaviest belongings including a nearly 100 year old pump organ and other vintage furniture. Not a single scratch. And boys - they were FAST!!! If we ever move again we will call 2 Men and a Truck.
