+ -1 moreTheir office is in Durham. I think they do mostly do short moves. They might do some extended moves, but I don’t think they ever travel really huge distances. They are really good at what they do, at least the two men and the truck that moved me! The move only took a couple of hours, two and a half hours at most, because we were moving stuff from one place to another within the same town. Both moves involved substantial pieces of furniture. They are a full service company that does everything, including packing. They just don’t do long-haul moves. They were able to do the work well, and they were neat. They looked good, had nice personalities, and their truck was nice. They shrink-wrapped the furniture before they loaded it onto the truck, and then they put the furniture in place at the new place. I doubt I could have got the job done for less money, because they did so much. I’ve moved many times, because I’m not a young person. I’ve never had better movers. I’ve had good movers before, in Maryland, but they were not as good as these people. I plan to use them again if I need to, and I recommend them to people I know, because I myself heard about them through a recommendation. They’re quality movers. I see their trucks around the area, and they all look nice.

When he got here though, it appeared, based on my earlier moves, that he knew exactly what to look for with the estimate. He was one of three companies that gave me a fixed price contract offer; all the others gave a price that could change. He was pretty professional and polite. I would use them again in the future; in fact, they will be moving next month.

+ -1 moreGreat. They arrived on time. They moved my huge table. They took great care not to damage it.
Description of Work: I hired them this time to move an extremely heavy $12,000.00 table. I have also used them for another move in the past year, and since 2005 I have used them for at least two other prior moves both business & residential. None of my moves are ever from point A to point B. It seems that I always need for them to make additional stops (like to the storage facility or to a fourth location) each time I have hired them. They pleasantly do whatever I need them to do and they do it quickly and professionally. Each time they have been professional, accommodating, and have done a fabulous job. I would recommend them to any one moving. I wouldn't use any other company.

+ -1 moreFirst the home estimate was arranged on the day of the request which was perfect as I had flown to the house thinking that I would need to make a second trip. On the date of the move, I asked for a one hour delay to accomodate a flight schedule. The team was on time and moved quicker and with such skill that I have not ever witnessed in the several moves that I have had in my life. The team was scheduled to deliver to the other state the following morning, but indicated that the same evening delivery was possible. We met at my home after approximately 5 hours and the unpacking was seamless. The gentleman were so courteous and it was quite evident that they had experience with quality items and knowledge of how to adapt to space issues. I needed to have beds placed in rooms but not assembled. They knew actually how to place them and to leave space for entering and existing. Service was outstanding in all aspects.
Description of Work: I moved furniture from 4 rooms of a house which was owned by my deceased mother in N. C. to my home in another state.

+ -1 moreIt was the most awful, negative and the most things damaged we have ever had in a move. I could never recommend this company to anyone. This was our 4h move with this company. 2 went okay, one was bad, and the last was awful! We are going to write letters to the Chamber of Commerce and the BBB. The owner of the local Two Men, is dishonest, he tells you to get the full coverage insurance, so their will be no problems, then when his crew damage your things, they simply all stick together and lie that nothing was damaged. I wish we had thought to have our camcorder out and videoed the entire move, then we would've had proof of the lies and the level of dishonesty they are willing to go to, not to do what is right, or what they promise.
Description of Work: We did our own packing, purchasing the boxes and paper from Two Men and a Truck. Les Wilson came to our house, gave us an estimate and strongly encouraged us to take out the full coverage insurance $450.00 which we did, so that IF any thing was damaged that there would be no haggling or argument about the repairs or value. This was the 4th time we had used this company - and it will be the LAST. We had 2 previous good moves and one not so good. This 4th and last move was a nightmare. Les Wilson the manager of our local Two Men sent out 3 young boys, who argued among themselves, dressed and acted unprofessional, were rude, took no pains to try and not damage our things, then tried to bully me into signing the contract when I told them they were finished and we would hire someone else to finish our move. They sat in there truck at our new house, on the 4th of July with the windows down cursing us and using profanity. I had to tell them to get out of my house and then I had to threaten to call the police to get them off our property. I have never had such a bad/negative moving experience in my life. The new steel door on the house we were moving from was so scratched and damaged that it cost $600.00 to repair it and the molding surrounding it - But Les Wilson tried to deny that they had damaged anything during the move. I ask the 3 boys to bring the refrigerator back in and set it down 3 times, they paid me no head, and thusly damaged out Sam-sung refrigerator and our doors at both houses. One boy picked up a Drexel Heritage antique curved desk, by himself and slammed it into a doorway, minutes later he tried to deny it ever happened. We feed the crew lunch and provided cold bottled water at both houses - and the thanks we got was a nightmare move, I will never forget. We also plan to write the chamber of commerce and BBB, they is one of the most negative experiences with any company we have ever had. After seeing how unprofessional Les Wilson acted when he came out to look at the frig and the desk, etc. it is of course easy to see why his crew feel it is okay to treat the clients and their things with such disrespect. Buyer Beware with this company.

+ -1 moreThey showed up on time and worked very quickly. They asked a lot of questions and worked extremely hard. They were also very very nice and followed all instructions very well. They were very professional. This was the first time we used them but we'll use them again for sure. They quoted us about 6 hours on the phone but it ended up only being 3 hours to get everything done. No complaints with them at all.

+ 0 moreI was impressed with the ratings that they had on Angie's List. They showed up to the house without tools, so they weren't able to assemble furniture. I had to go to the hardware store to buy tools. They did break a desk and kitchen glassware. I did contact the manager and he was responsive and reimbursed me. I feel that I got a rookie crew. It took them an hour to put together my bed. The manager did his best to amend the situation. Every one was nice and polite; they just lacked experience.
Description of Work: We had them move all of our household belongings and they packed the kitchen. They stored my furniture for a month.

+ -1 moreThey were on time and moved everything that I requested. They provide packing and wrapping services on the fly in case you run out of time or supplies. My quality complaint is that they could not move two of my dressers and a sofa down the stairs without damaging the sheet rock in several places. Atlas van lines got them up the stairs without any damage. I had to convince the man in charge what needed to be done to get each item down the stairs without further damage to my furniture and home. This is probably to be expected at this price and you definitely want to hang out with them if you know you have big furniture and tight spaces. I will probably use them again because my new home will not have any tight spaces like the old one.
Description of Work: They packed a 3000+ sqft house into two portable storage units, a nearby apartment and garage in about 7 hours. I also purchased 30 blankets at $10 each. They will buy them back when you are done with them for $5 each. The storage unit company rents blankets for $2 per month so if you need blankets for 3 or more months, buy from them.

They showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and were finished in four hours. They treated our mother's belongings with professional care, and no damage was done during the move. Overall, a very pleasant experience. They earned our highest recommendation.

When it came time to unpack everything, I was amazed that the very old china was in beautiful shape as not a piece chipped or broken. The books were in as good of shape as well. The cost of everything was quite reasonable and was included in the final price.
Description of Work: I was having some major renovations done to my home and I needed help doing some packing and moving from one place to another in my large home. I had them come in and carefully pack and move the china from the china hutch. I then had them remove all the books from the library and pack them and move them as well.
