Description of Work: We asked Green Horizons to check our air conditioner to make sure it was working properly. They sent out a tech who didn't seem to know what he was doing. He did tell us that the unit needed coolant and he added the coolant. Another tech from Green Horizons came about one hour later. He checked it and said it was OK. | |It wasn't OK. We began having problems a few days later and decided to go with a company that specialized in Rheem. A tech came out and showed me that too much coolant had been put into the air conditioner. If left untreated, it would have caused major problems. In other words, Green Horizons over-charged the system. That is the reason we are giving Green Horizons an "F".

Description of Work: This is a good company. Have used them before. Very professional and installers care about the job they do. They only sell quality systems and they do everything by the book. If you are looking for a deep discount provider this is NOT the company for you. They are responsive and pretty quick to get a quote prepared and the work done, though the last job started a week later than originally projected compelling me to discount rent to tenants for the month. The job prior they were johnny on the spot even though the winter rush had just started. Would use again.

Description of Work: I purchased an HVAC diagnostic service via Angie's List and Green Horizon was quick to respond with an appointment time, and some background as I thought I would be replacing a unit based on information I received by another contractor last summer. Turns out both units were operational, a little freon needed for one and the anxiety over paying for a new unit is gone. Marcus was pleasant and knowledgable, thoroughly explained everything.

Description of Work: Blown in insulation in the attic and sprayed closed cell foam insulation under main floor. |I observed, full time, their work performance and would hire these folks again & again. |I expect excellence & they gave me excellence.

Description of Work: The service provider came out to my home to discuss possible installation for my attic, but he was able to determine my attic was fully installed and no need for service!

Description of Work: Sealed attic leaks and installed blown cellulose insulation in the attic and built partial flooring. Installed attic ladder access. Excellent job. Would definitely hire them again. We did have a subsequent decrease in our heating and cooling bills from the work that they did.

Description of Work: I asked for a better way to cool the 3rd level bonus room; After they left I found insulation not placed back or fell out of the joist; the insulation for one of the access openings they were to improve was so heavy it fell off leaving me to take care of(that area seemed to be hotter than normal-that's when I discovered the problem; I did not notice any change in the temperature and had to use a fan on the steps to blow air from the second floor; I did contact them with the information regarding the temp readings- no response

Description of Work: These folks (originally called Sunset Mechanical) installed 2 new SEER 17 HVAC systems and duct work for us in 2006 and have been maintaining them semi-annually every year since. They are knowledgeable and precise in their work. I give them our highest recommendation

Description of Work: Green Horizon guys came out and gave me a free estimate for attic insulation and duct sealing, and crawl space insulation and sealing. I opted to hire them for the attic and duct work, and they did a great job. They were very responsive to my *many* questions, and I think they are forthright and trustworthy. The men that came to do the work were very pleasant, and I felt comfortable with them in my home. They did leave a bit of insulation inside and a bunch was accidentally spilled and left on my lawn, but that only took me a few minutes to clean up. Overall I was very impressed with the company and would gladly hire them again. I decided not to hire them for the crawl space work because I received a better (and seemingly more thorough) offer from a crawl space specialist. For any job concerning energy efficiency though, I would go with Green Horizon.
